Since 2006, Christophe Frutuoso (http://kr-prod.net/cmsms/index.php?page=index) have made 6 albums inspired from the Silent Hill universe.

To me, it is one of the best SH fanwork around (original compositions), very closer to the original work from Akira Yamaoka.

Mainly the tracks sounds like SH2 (but not only), with melancholics and ambients themes.

Highly recommended :)

I agree with you byblo, these are great fanmade albums. Although listed for some time at few SH music shrines only recently were these albums available for download once again. I already had them but I still wanted to thank you for your post. ;)

This stuff is fantastic. It's almost just as good as a new Silent Hill soundtrack. Thanks!

Indeed, this guy Christophe is practically on par with Akira Yamaoka. Great stuff.

Just wow! I'm impressed! I'm surprised that I never came across this artist before. When I got the news that Akira was finally leaving Konami, my heart just shattered at the thought that I may never hear another original piece of music that would bring me back to that foggy town. After Akira's music had been at the top of my playlists for years, I suddenly became very affraid that I might eventually tire of hearing those same masterpieces over and over again. I responded to this with a paranoid practice of self-restraint, moderating my own listening time of his works.

This Christophe's works replicate all the elements of Akira's pieces that audibly define all of my fondest memories of Silent Hill. I can't thank you enough for bringing this artist to our attention, byblo, for bringing me back to that special place.....

Christopher Frutuoso released a 6th album Silent Hill inspired :)

Quote from his website:

After a year of work and participation in the Broken Notes' album 'Extremitas' (http://www.broken-notes.com/albums.html) Here a new double album 'Soiled Shores' (http://kr-prod.net/cmsms/index.php?page=soiled-shores) based on the sound of Silent Hill OST's by Akira Yamaoka.

Updated the first post.
