I like having Co-op modes in games. It's great having a buddy tag along and provide much needed back up and it's especially useful if the players are of miss matched skill levels cuz it's not much fun bulldozing weaker players all the time.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Time was 1 of my first games and is still 1 of my favourite for 2 players.

I'd like to find more co-op games for the SNES, Gamecube, & PS2.

I guess RE5, because that's the only game in which I've ever really co-op'd. It was fun, but I prefer playing games by myself, at the end of the day.

Secret of Mana is technically co-op.

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark back in the day...

Also, the early Bomberman series was hilarious for multiplayer. I don't remember if it was co-op exactly, but I remember doing a free for all with my friend and two bots on the hardest difficulty, and we would team up to kill the bots before then turning on ourselves. That was fun stuff...

And I found that co-op on wrestling games for n64 such as WWF No Mercy was surprisingly charming.

More recently, running through the Halo games with a friend on Legendary is pretty fun.

I remember having fun playing co-op in the arcades with Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, The Simpson's Arcade Game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Simpsons_%28arcade_game%29), and X-Men: The Arcade Game.

Check out Co-Optimus (http://www.co-optimus.com/index.php) for more Co-Op gaming.

Loved that X-Men one :D! My friend actually has it as an emulator! I should ask if I can get it from him...

But I would have to say that one tanks game on the Wii. Can't exactly remember what it's called. Tiny Tanks? Well, you can piss off your buddy by blowing his tank up, but if you die, then it's game over for the both of you. But when we decided to work together and see how far we can get, it's EXTREMELY fun....and intense too when you die and you're watching your friend trying to kill the other tanks so you guys can move on.

Eh, I played RE5 co-op with Rasse last time while he was here and it was pretty fun. We tried replaying Secret of Mana together but I couldn't get over how awful it is with nostalgia goggles removed and stopped playing somewhere near the end. Not sure what else I liked, really. It was a pain in NSMB: Wii and the Lego games.

Secret of Mana wasn't that good even when it first came out. It's only fun because it's multiplayer. Kind of like the old arcade brawlers with really monotonous gameplay that you can enjoy because you have 5 of your friends right next to you making the monotony fun.

goldeneye wasnt co-op.

as for me, TMNT 4 is and will always be, the most awesome co-op experience after the Xmen arcade

FFShrine, I am disappoint. Nothing can match the bro-fist moments that game provides. We who played together remember fondly the days that we teamed up to clear an entire room of grunts within a matter of moments, thanks to teamwork. Our arms are bruised with the marks of anger from people shortly after hearing, "Green Elf shot the food!" The arcade halls rang with our laughter as we then blocked the elf's only exit from the room where Death was closing in...

Another interesting co-op game if you could play it in arcades: Vindicators. O...M...G! The controls were hard as FRICK to get used to(used a type of steering wheel/flight stick, if I remember right), but it was fun! Might be because I played the NES version with my dad a lot, but...

What about the Metal Slug series? Playing that in the Arcade with your friend it was a pretty epic experience back in the day.

Now, it's all about the Internet.

If you can find it for under $40 Alien Hominid has awesome co-op. It's a Contra like game and is just as hard but you get a lot of guys and you can adjust the difficulty and once you beat a level you can go to each chapter so it's good for less skilled people too.

The Space ship levels are the best with 1 of you driving and the other as the gunner.

Final Fight 2 is pretty fun with co-op especially when you accidentally smack each other around, it's hilarious.
