Outstanding! You're too kind. This was the fastest I've EVER seen a Saw score hit the scene...

They should invent a "post of the year award" just for you.

A million thank you's! Also, thanks for being an adult about posting it... a fantastic score with no drama. ;)

I think I speak for everyone when I say we all truly appreciate it.

Indeed, it's a great find.

I often wonder where these things turn up from. With there being no official release and no promotional score (that I'm aware of) I'm always surprised when these things find their way out, especially when, like this, it's got so many alternate versions of these cues.

I'm loving the new Zepp mix (or, as I've come to call it, Hello Tara).

I really don't get it... can't they see there's money in this? We all have to sneak around in the shadows and wait for stuff to get leaked and passed around... like crack. ;)

If the Saw scores were just released for sale, they'd probably make a lot of money. I would gladly pay TOP dollar for physical, studio mastered CD copies of the Saw scores. If they just did internet sales or set up shop at some of the Saw conventions I've been to they'd clean up.

Anywho... I'm convinced that "Zepp Six" is quite possibly one of the best pieces of music in the entire series! It's just phenomenal...

Krymson

Thats too much logic.

We can't have that, otherwise we'd have what we wanted and they'd have a boatload of cash.

But, since its not we have what we want and they lost out on a boatload of money.

The Doctor

I really don't get it... can't they see there's money in this?

You'd think so. But I suppose they make more money licensing it out to be used in trailers and whatnot than they'd make off fans of SAW or Charlie Clouser.

I still think it's silly that a lot of music companies won't offer public sales of stock music. There are a lot of really amazing cues written specifically for trailers that we'll never get our hands on as a result.

Anywho... I'm convinced that "Zepp Six" is quite possibly one of the best pieces of music in the entire series! It's just phenomenal...

It really is. It's Clouser at his absolute best (which isn't surprising, as I think the end of Saw VI is the best ending of any of the sequels, at least in terms of pacing and editing). At the very least, this track ought to have been on the soundtrack album.

Have you ever heard Saw music being used in a trailer?

I have... it was the most stomach turning experience ever... ug. They were using "Hello Zepp" to promote some shitty movie with Denzel Washington.

Hey, can someone tell me which track is the one that plays during the "It works... He helped me" scene with Amanda? I can't seem to find it on here... it doesn't sound like it's "Jill's Story" or "Jill and Hoffman". It feels like it should be somewhere between "Jill and Hoffman" and "Breath Room", but it's not on either...

Have you ever heard Saw music being used in a trailer?

I heard it in the trailer for, I believe, Inglorious Bastards. Thought it worked well enough.

It's like when you hear Bishop's Countdown from Aliens in a trailer -- which in the 1990a happened a lot -- it's odd hearing music you recognize so well underscoring another film.

This melody is identical to some portions of the track "Baptism" from "Saw III". I think the music thich has been reused for VI, is not included in this album.

All I did was convert it to 320kbps so it'd be a manageable download. The original file was 1.1gigs!

Now, hopefully the Saw VII score will come this easy:)

As for as EMP, they've had 3 scores stolen from them, I think they're starting to realize that there is a demand for these scores

When Amanda goes crying and cuts herself for killing her lover Adam under pressure of Jigsaw, cuz there was no turning back when she entered the bathroom with Jiggy. [Flashback with her promising Jiggy, Jiggy preparing for the start of the Bathroom game].

Ah, okay.

I need to rewatch III it's been the longest.

One more question about "Zepp Six". You know, I noticed a significant difference in the two versions, the last five notes hit at the very very end, in one version they go down, and in another they go up.

Though I've seen the theatrical version and the DVD version multiple times, and am quite certain they go down in both versions. So where did this one with them going up come from?

Zak
02-12-2010, 07:02 PM
Oooh okay, thanks, I thought one was supposed to be the original and one from the directors cut. Because some parts of the music are significantly different in those two versions.

Her lover, ADAM? She's never been shown as having anything romantic (if one can call it that...) with anyone other than Cecil. And that's just in the director's cut of Saw VI.

Hey guys... two things:

1) Can someone help me identify which of the "mixes" of each of the scores were actually used in Saw VI?

2) If someone could let me know which score pieces from Saw VI are missing from this Score (this could be just pieces missing, or the alternate mix of a score that appeared in Saw VI, but wasn't on this score).

Thanks guys, this is a big help.

Hey guys... two things:

1) Can someone help me identify which of the "mixes" of each of the scores were actually used in Saw VI?

I can tell you that "Hanging Room" is Mix 3, "Jill Drives" is Mix 1 and "Zepp Six" is the un-alternate version.

I went back over the DVD and watched those parts again and again to determine which mixes of these tracks were used because I wanted to add them to my Saw music folder. I'm not too sure about the other ones.

The Doctor

Hanging Room and Zepp Six are the two easiest to sort out -- Hanging Room features an ethereal synth piano in the film, and only version 3 from the soundtrack has that (although version 2 has a slight variation on that). And with Zepp Six, all you have to do is listen to the ending.

Has anyone else noticed that this score is incomplete? Look at the track numbers... you'll see that there are track lists missing. For example, it goes from "16- Breath Room" to "22- Take One".

Does anyone happen to have the FULL Saw VI Score? Don't get me wrong, this score is awesome, but there are essential pieces missing from it.

The Scoreguy

Bump.

I'd kinda like to get to the bottom of this incomplete Saw Scores thing. Both the Saw V and VI Albums that were released are missing pieces.

I can tell because the tracklistings show that there are musical tracks missing from the albums (Saw V in particular, is missing quite a bit). For example, on the Saw VI Album, it goes from "16- Breath Room" to "22- Take One".
The Saw V Score that was released is missing mostly all of its alternate mixes, as well as many of its individual scores as well.

If ANYONE can help me solve, this, I'm begging you, please step forward.

Anywho, you WILL be get them eventually. Sometimes it takes a while. I remember that it was about 2 years in between the time that I got the original Saw III score and then the complete Saw III score.

It's really not worth it to get all worked up about it. Most of the "complete" scores aren't much better... mostly throw away tracks. They're nice to have, but you have everything you really need in your possession already.

Sometimes I'm not so sure...

We still haven't gotten a complete Saw I Score... I'd really rather to have them sooner than later. Before with the Saw Scores, I was willing to wait, hoping that they would be released SOMETIME, and that kinda worked.
But knowing that they exist, and that people have them, but that they aren't getting released... that's frustrating. That's why I'm kind of desperate to get them. I KNOW that they are there, and that people have them.

I don't know whether you know about House of Jigsaw, and my efforts to get the scores released from over there... If not, let's just say I've been working very hard, for a very long time trying to get these scores released.

The Cure for Cancer

We still haven't gotten a complete Saw I Score...

It exists.... kinda. I have an expanded Saw score and another good-quality random track from a rip that was used in Saw VI that makes it pretty much complete. The expanded Saw score isn't of the best quality, but again... they were mostly throw away tracks anyway.

Yeah, you're right. They exist and people do have them... but there's really nothing anybody can do about it. I don't you don't want to but there's nothing else you CAN do except wait until they trickle down...

I really wish they would just release them on a proper CD so we could buy them and be done with this bullshit.

I've been into scores for a LONG time. It's my experience that 97% of the time a complete score gets out... it's just a question of how long it takes. Sometimes weeks, months or upwards of 7-10 years. There is that 3% of exceptions, however... but most of that stuff isn't too popular.

I know about the House of Jigsaw but not intimately... I've been there a few times to read a few of the more interesting posts but I'm not a member or anything. I've been meaning to join, but just never got around to it.

Is it full of REAL Saw fans or just teenage kids that aren't old enough to get in to see Saw movies in the first place with awful English skills that type like they're texting?

Difference of opinion I guess... I see where you're coming from about the tracks being unique and all. I tend to be more of a purist... if it wasn't used IN the film then I usually don't care much about it.

A lot of the people over there are really great. The majority of the boards are intelligent and interesting people who can see past the gore of the Saw films. Of course, there's the odd jerk that's there, but almost all of the people there are really cool.

I kinda see what you mean, but I'm a little more on the side of a music collector. Any kind of track or score that was composed or used for a film is great to me.

You've got more tracks than I have, as well as mostly all of the alternate mixes. But yeah... your score is incomplete too. It's the same tracks that my version is missing.
I wonder if someone should contact EMP about this...

Don't let this thread die you guys.

I'm finding it a little hard to believe that out of all the Saw fans on the internet, no one's been able to contact Charlie Clouser about this. It would be great if we could actually talk to the man himself, to let him know how much we love his scores.

Quite a few, actually. Here are some that I've managed to pick out, but I know there are more:

- John, Jill and Amanda at Clinic
- Breath Room MIX 3 (William’s theme is missing)
- Pamela talks to Jill about the letter
- The Party (John and William's Scene)
- Brent and Tara's scene after the Hanging Trap
- Steam Hall (before the flashback)
- John is denied Healthcare by William
- Steam Tape MIX 2 (from “Recommend” from Saw IV)
- Carousel Trap MIX 2
- Don't trust the Saviour (Amanda's scene with Corbett)

It's not available at this time. We need to try and convince Evolution Music Partners to release it, because I know for a fact they do have the whole score.

For anyone who wants to know which alternate music tracks from this album were used in Saw VI, a Wikipedia page has been put up listing which mixes were used. From what I can tell, it is accurate.
The only one it's wrong on is "Breath Room Mix 2". There is a "Breath Room Mix 3", and this is the one that was used in Saw VI. Unfortunately, it was not included in the release of the score.

Here is the page:

Okay, I've managed to figure out exactly which scores are missing from the Saw V and VI Score releases. Interestingly enough, the ones that are missing from both are mostly scores of flashback scenes. Note that these are NOT the official titles of the scores, but I improvised titles as to what they would be.

Saw V
1m07- Strahm Tape
1m08a- Strahm Hallway
1m08b- Strahm Stabbed
1m12- Jill's Box
3m39- Electrical Room
4m41- Being Followed
4m42a- Hoffman Sickroom
4m42b- Play a Game
4m43- All Supposed to Die
All unincluded Alternate and MIXs are a given

Saw VI
1m09- Pamela
2m14a- Addiction
2m14b- It Works/He Helped Me
2m15a- Prowler
2m15b- William Stabbed
2m16- Breath Room MIX 3
2m17- Live or Die
2m18- Hoffman Mirror
2m19- Pamela and Jill
2m20- Pamela Unconscious
3m21a- The Party
3m21b- Will to Live
3m28a- Three Jigsaws
3m28b- Brutality
3m28c- Dragging Knuckles
3m28d- A Way Out
3m29a- Final Decision
3m29b- Healthcare Denied
3m29c- Judgement
4m30- Steam Tape ALT
4m32- See it Work
4m34- Jill Bag
Again, all unincluded Alternates and MIXs are a given

These were all the scores I was able to identify, using the Evolution Music Partners tracklists as a base. However, there are some spaces that I just can't figure out.
For the life of me though, I can't figure out what scores come between "4m46- Next Nightmare" and "5m50- Hoff Approach" (from Saw V). There's no score gap between those two in the film, so I don't know what to think unless there were three unused score pieces there.
In the Saw VI Score Album, there's two of these "skipping" incidents. The first is between "4m35- Carousel" and "4m38- Voice Lab". The second is between "4m38- Voice Lab" and "5m40- Severed Hand". There's no score gaps whatsoever between these two pieces in the film, so maybe it's just an error.

Some may call it a lost cause, but I am still trying to get these final score pieces released.

Here's a score piece I made from the Saw VI Motion Picture Score. On the score, there is "Take One- Mix 2" and "Take One- Mix 3". Both of these were used for Saw VI, simply combined.
I decided to combine them using audio editing, and give you the exact score piece you hear in the film.

The download link for it is here:

Hey, Evolution Music Partners has posted an (almost) complete score of Saw V on their website. It features many of the alternate scores, but it is still missing some tracks. Does anyone happen to have this version?

Something else I noticed whilest going through the Evolution Music Partner's website was that there are alternate mixes to the Saw III Score. Does anyone have these also? I'd love to hear them.

There's nothing more out there, they already licence everything they have.

That's not really what I'm saying...

When you look at the titles of the Saw III Score, there are some that say they are the second mix of something (Saw3-3m36-Pig Juicer-MXX2 or Saw3-5m47-Lynn Talks-MXX3). Obviously this means that there are other mixes of these scores somewhere.
As for Saw V, I don't have that version of the score. Mine is missing a couple of the alternate mixes. Could you please post a download link to your version?

I contacted EMP about the missing mixes/score pieces, but they said that this is all they were allowed to upload to their website, due to contractual obligations. I firmly believe that there is more of the Saw V and VI Scores out there, and am still working hard for their release.

I heard it in the trailer for, I believe, Inglorious Bastards. Thought it worked well enough.

It's like when you hear Bishop's Countdown from Aliens in a trailer -- which in the 1990a happened a lot -- it's odd hearing music you recognize so well underscoring another film.

Also in the trailer for Trick 'r Treat: segment of Baptism, Saw III score.

The Zepp theme was also featured in a trailer (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809913399/video/10452652) for the movie Valkyrie.

Back on topic -- I'd also LOVE to get my hands on the 61-track version of the Saw 5 soundtrack, preferably in quality > 128kbps OGG, which I happen to already own.

Happy to do it.

All I did was convert it to 320kbps so it'd be a manageable download. The original file was 1.1gigs!

Now, hopefully the Saw VII score will come this easy:)

As for as EMP, they've had 3 scores stolen from them, I think they're starting to realize that there is a demand for these scores

yeah, now they require a user account to be able to even listen to them, where you need to be part of a licensed media organization of some sort. my request for membership has been ignored for over three months. EMP really does not get it... :'(

The only version I have has fewer tracks (all alternate cues are missing) and the quality is 128kbps OGG as I have said... well, it's listenable but not archival quality by any stretch of imagination.

If anyone's interested, I've managed to mix William's theme into Breath Room Mix 1 to create a sort-of vague recreation of Breath Room Mix 3. Probably a bit shorter in length by a few seconds than the actual scene (or the previous tracks), but nonetheless sounds about right to me :)

Breath Room Mix 3 (http://www.mediafire.com/file/picpdpknpyzocxm/Breath%20Room%20Mix%203.mp3)

Tell me ur thoughts! :D

EDIT: Oh, and @The Scoreguy What about the film version of 'Autopsy Redux' (intro mixed with 'Tape Deck')?

Plus:

Power Cut/News Report (http://www.mediafire.com/file/u422j4u328ghdd4/Power%20Cut.mp3)

Abduction/William Stabbed (http://www.mediafire.com/file/7wiisddt3ks9fbx/Abduction.mp3)

^ These are also my own edits, and so will sound different to the film's mixes :) Just so u guys know (sorry to those who wanted the actual things. Better than nothing, right?)

It was originally posted about a year ago by a Saw fan on HOJ who had connections with an employee at EMP. One of my Shriner friends copied this tracklisting off the forum before it closed down. We almost got the score too, but the source from Evolution was fired before he actually got his hands on it.

I was SlicK_JigSAw_MuffiN on those forums.

Well, I've just been informed that this tracklisting is not real. Never mind, for the time being.

Key words: FOR THE TIME BEING. Not 100% on this.

Yeah, a few friends of mine and myself are currently working on it.

So I did some searching on EMP's website out of curiosity and I found WAY too many extra tracks to count. I just wondered to myself if anyone's gotten a hold of these (and if they do, if there's any difference (other than length) to the original track)?

Example results (because there are too many):

Blind/Mute (Driving Build-Up) - 0:60
Hair Puller B (Drum Scrapes) - 0:35
Blind/Mute (Drum Frenzy) - 0:50
Knife Face (Heavy Percussion Build-Up) - 0:30

And, was there really a time when EMP DIDN'T require a login to listen to music?

EDIT: Or maybe I should have posted this in another thread...?

Nope, no difference. Just excerpts from the full-length tracks.

And yes, there was a time. I didn't even know what Evolution Music Partners was during it, though. Sadly.

Yeah, same here.

Aww, no diff? Hm... Still interesting to me, though, as there were certain bits in certain tracks that I favoured the most out of the whole track. :D
