Thanks a bunch for this one, Parker. Such a shame that it's not seen a proper, full release. Young should've been scoring these movies from day one.

I honestly think Young had a better handle on Spidey in one movie than Elfman had in all his time doing 1 and 2. Just listen to that Black Suited Spidey theme, the new love theme(shame it went unused, much better than Elfman's), the way he weaves the new material in through the established stuff, the guy knows how to do a superhero score and not bog it down with unnecessary flourishes.

Much as I love the scores Elfman did for the first two(and I really do, listen to them quite often), Young just knew the character better and knew how to showcase the action and drama better. And how about that rock song? Awesome!

I agree 100%. Except we would not have had the brilliant main theme :/

and hell yeah! Black is the color shoulda been on the actual OST.

Oh, that's true. I do love, love, love the main theme. Fits Spidey perfectly. I'd actually love to see if Young will come onto the podcast I host to talk about the Spidey music and all his other stuff, maybe get some insight into some unrevealed stuff with the third film.

HA HA great news! What do you think your version will bring new compared to this one? Some more cues without fx would be GREAT!

MrM
02-07-2010, 09:09 PM
I'm still deciding if I want to DVD-rip the rest of the cues, or keep it limited to cues without sfx. Either way, it's organized primarily to favor Chris Young's score as he intended it (possible exception being the Opening Montage - only available ending for that is Lurie's), before the editing frenzy that went on. I'm also using the OST tracks whenever possible, because those seem to be of slightly higher quality.

I think favoring Chris Young's score is the best, indeed. I don't like the tracks with sfx, or very very slight ones. Hope to hear your version very soon!!

Thank you for the score. I did have a question, though.
Several track numbers do not match their file names and more importantly, tracks 2, 11, 14, 17, 24, 25, 31 and 32 seem to be missing.
Did I download it wrong, did it miss the upload, were they removed from the compilation, will they be coming later?
I don't want to appear that I'm being picky, I'm just anal about my record keeping.
Thank you again for all your hard work,
JonC

(p.s., I can make you a cover if you want, but my style tends to be a bit minimalist, and not as slick as the other Spider-Man bootlegs.)

So it sounds like I'm expected to provide a 'complete' score? In the interest of getting it over and done with, my original plan was to pad out what clean cues we have with the remaining 5-6 minutes of material that I cared about. I suppose one day I'll whip up a mega-set, but with school and such getting in the way, I don't want to keep you guys hanging forever.

Incidentally Fink, I see what you mean - apparently that's an alternate insert for The Final Confrontation that you were looking for. Don't seem to have that sfx-free, but I'm certainly looking, lol.

Does your version contain the cue "The Broadcast" SFX free. It's a 90 second cue where the news reporter talks about how the city is in siege. The scene then cuts to Peter Parker suiting up to face then, then back to the news report.
