It's much in the same style as the teaser for Fallout 3.

In case you aren't aware, Fallout: New Vegas is a completely new addition to the series set to release mid-2010 on 360, PS3 and PC. If I remember correctly, the development team features numerous people that worked on Fallout 2.

Speaking of the development team, I just found out that the guy who made "Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul" is working on New Vegas.

Dunno whether I'm happy or sad to see Obsidian get it. They got potential. KotOR2 imo was shaping up to surpass the first if it had been allowed to play out properly. But it didn't and they have been forever tagged as making flawed sequels to great games.

Hope it's more story driven than the FO3. Obsidian (and former Black Isle) rarely disappoint me on that front.

Kinda hoping it will be in a game format more like the originals, but either way Bethesda did as good a job with Fallout 3 as I could reasonably expect and I liked it so I'm excited for this.

Still hoping it's more of a true Fallout experience! I know the parallel universe where this game has a small overworld and a time limit is far from ours, but I can dream. ;_;

Info leaks on Fallout New Vegas:

* A new "Hardcore mode" will be available, in which (among other things) stimpacks heal over time, ammo has weight, and players can suffer from dehydration.
* The story focuses on a conflict between three factions: the New California Republic (a nation from Fallout 2), "Caesar's Legions," based on the Vegas strip, and the residents of New Vegas.
* The player is not a Vault Dweller but a courier who is rescued by a friendly robot.
* Super Mutants resembling those from Fallout 2 make an appearance, including the unique (and stealthy) Nightkin.
* A "reputation system" measuring faction friendliness operates beside the karma system.
* Some story points and locations seem to have been lifted from the old "Van Buren" demo, including the Hoover Dam.
* Followers can be managed via a context-sensitive menu containing commands such as "follow," "stay" and "attack."

There's way more information in the duckandcover thread, so give it a read.

Sounds good, looking forward to this more than any other RPG this year. Personally I'd rather they ditched VATS entirely and just focus on making a well-balanced FPSRPG, but I guess Obsidian's hands were tied on this issue. At the very least I hope they rebalance it such that you can't make a character that's good at everything (ditching the "intense training" thing would be a start).

I can't wait to see what they're doing with the NCR and Caesar's Legion (the latter being something out of the original, cancelled Fallout 3). Unlike the Enclave and Brotherhood of Steel, it actually makes sense that the NCR would still be a significant entity in the Fallout world. The return of a proper reputation system and skill checks are also appreciated.
