EDIT: WARNING, Masashi Hamauzu, the composer of Final Fantasy XIII's original soundtrack, has left Square Enix. This follows the departures of Kenichiro Fukui (The Black Mages) and Junya Nakano (Final Fantasy X). I KNO GAY RIGHT?

Square Enix Music Online can exclusively reveal that Final Fantasy XIII composer Masashi Hamauzu has left Square Enix. His departure is the latest in an exodus at the company's sound team, following Kenichiro Fukui and Junya Nakano, and further departures from the remaining four composer team will occur in coming months.

During his 15 years at the company, Hamauzu has worked on titles such as SaGa Frontier II, Unlimited SaGa, Final Fantasy X, Musashi: Samurai Legend, Dirge of Cerberus, and Sigma Harmonics. During this period, he has accumulated considerable critical acclaim for his stylistic versatility and artistic impressionistic style. He has also produced three piano albums and the solo project Vielen Dank.

Hamauzu's latest score Final Fantasy XIII is likely to make him a blockbuster name in the industry and has already been subjected to rave reviews. Its official soundtrack will be released on January 27. Though he completed the music for the Japanese game last year, he has recently been involved in development of the soundtrack for the international version of the game. Hamauzu's future destination remains to be confirmed.

Other News:
Fans have long been craving a remake of Final Fantasy VII, but in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, Tetsuya Nomura, the man behind the iconic character designs in FFVII, has again dashed their hopes.

Speaking on the subject, he said that there are as yet no plans for a Final Fantasy VII remake, but he hopes that Cloud Strife, will be able to make more cameo appearances in other Square Enix properties. He most recently appeared in Dissidia: Final Fantasy.

This will come as a disappointment to some, as Tetsuya recently announced that he was working on a franchise that would "give fans what they want" - it doesn't really leave many other options for what that game can be. He's also working on completing Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which he stated should see a lot more information revealed at this year's E3.

EDIT: Rapidshare Links Changed. New Megaupload Links Avail. ALbum Art Now Avail. New Links TBA.

It's not bad as you think. Now he can finally make his own music without Square-Enix breathing down his neck. You also forgot Nobou Oematsu left Square-Enix also.

Indeed. And seeing as they're some of the most famous composers in the world...I highly doubt that they'll have any trouble getting work. :)

In any case, would anyone mind uploading the album art by itself? I already have the soundtrack.

Well it doesn't mean he won't be helping them on final fantasy anymore. I'm considering it as good news since it well let him do his music freely, but im more a fan of Hitoshi Sakimoto I guess. Even though the best thing in world that could happen is Nobuo Uematsu working on more FF's ^_^ or yasunori mitsuda, but I doubt they would charge him of composing an FF. More likely Nobuo joins that Sakagunchi mysterious project everyone is speaking of :)

"Breathing down his neck?" Quite an odd description of employment at S-E. In what manner was management breathing down Hamauzu's neck?

Anyway, the guy's come a long way since co-creating the Final Fantasy Tactics soundtrack. He was the weak link in that particular OST. Good to see he's gotten better.

If you are interested by lossless version & torrent,
you can download OST from here:
http://share.dmhy.org/topics/view/hash_id/fedf93b9bccb4420ed4ba8474f27e139634126b4

The cd 5 is just dialogs / story, not interesting music.

Outstanding work, nightzero. Let me also say that the departure of all these legendary composers (Uematsu especially) is bad news for Squre Enix. I do agree that they'll have no trouble finding work elsewhere, though.

Something's wrong. I can't seem to be able to change the info for track 20, disc 2 and track 13 disc 4. I can't even delete them from my computer! Otherwise, thanks a bunch for the download!
