it's hard for me to listen to songs like "Buck tha Devil" since the verb "buck" always makes a homosexual connotation in my head. Gaycowboy type thing.

yeah i don't really like many songs on there. just 'Gorillas The Mist', and even then only 'cause Cube rapped on it.

I remember when this came out... It was highly anticipated as i recall too. Ice Cube was arguably the best lyricist in NWA and this was to be his re-formation of what he thought NWA should be. This release for me at least fell short.

His solo albums "Amerikkka's Most Wanted" & "Death Certificate" were pretty solid though.

I never heard those two. just recently got into Cube. I watched a couple of his films and decided to check his 'rap sheet' out. Ha!

Rap Sheet for the win!

Cube wrote a movie inspired by the town i live in, Modesto, CA. Flick is called Jenky Promoters and its based on a true story. Movie was in super independent release and went almost straight to DVD. I have yet to see it but i hear its a cool indy flick.

Ice Cubes early stuff is his best, he could rap with a heavy flow, but now he seems to prefer driving kids around in 4x4s and cutting hair.

Get the two albums mentioned above by him it's still clever stuff to this day, but did fit in better with that era of yo! mtv raps and all the hood films that came out.

Also covers a "rough" version of his falling out with Jerry Heller (aka the break up of N.W.A part 1, as part 2 was Dre's departure)

Not the best film and in a very ironic twist.. it got curbed mostly with shody distribution thanks to "jenky" promotion...

Add Predator to cube's great stuff, it's a very highly misunderstood album due to it's somewhat commericial success
