Found this information on another forum and had a read. Seems to me Nomura's back to causing mass hysteria again.

Read article here (http://rpgland.com/rumors/nomura-stirring-hype-pot-again/), or read below:

Taken from above source:

Ol’ Tetsuya’s doing what he does best again: stirring things up with foreshadowed announcements of announcements. In the most recent Gamega magazine, amid speakings of his other projects, he’s asked what he’s most looking forward to in 2010. Nomura declines to answer directly, saying that he can’t yet say the name, but it’s a yet-unannounced game that many people are currently anticipating and that he’s received personal requests about. He foresees a huge reaction to its revelation. What his team is up to is anyone’s guess, and guessing is probably just what he intended with that hint drop. Well 2010 is practically here, so let the guessing begin. Again.

and here (http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=6329&mp=1):

Taken from above source:

You know, looking at the calendar, next year is barely 5 days away. But when "next year"? We don't know. Which game is it? We don't know. Will it please fans? Most definitely.

In an interview with Japanese gaming magazine Gomega, Tetsuya Nomura, father of Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy stylist, and co-conspirator on lots of other Square-Enix titles, promised a game that is highly requested by fans - some personally requested it from him, and the reaction he expects from the announcement is downright huge.

So, which is it? Kingdom Hearts III? A remake of the biggest Final Fantasy ever, VII? Well, either way, the huge array of fans will be rejoicing!

I put my bets on the Final Fantasy VII remake.

Now, nothing is set in concrete yet. Far as I'm concerned these are just rumors, nothing more or less. However, does pose some theories. Obviously the initial response is for a FFVII Remake. Joy... not. However, there could be a Final Fantasy Dissidia II, which I honestly wouldn't mind seeing truth be told. Then there's also rumors of another Kingdom Hearts... which I honestly hope and pray to all the deities in all the pantheons I can recall, that is NOT the case... but w/e.

Thoughts?

(Though, please no incessant FFVII fanboy screaming for a FFVII remake please. We have enough of that crap as it is.)

EDIT: Taken from Kotaku.com (http://kotaku.com/5431980/tetsuya-nomura-working-on-two-unannounced-titles) Tetsuya Nomura worked as main character designer on Final Fantasy XIII, director and designer for Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and ditto for Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

We forgot Final Fantasy Agito XIII! He's character designer for that, too.

In the most recent issue of Famitsu, Nomura reveals that he is working on two unannounced titles. He gives some updates, saying that they are working to bring up the quality so that the difference between real time and pre-renders in the upcoming Final Fantasy Versus XIII is seamless. He also says that development for Agito is going favorably.

"There is a still yet unannounced title that I am working on sooner than thought," he says. Voice recording for this title has begun.

"It's not a brand new title, but there is one more unannounced title."

My first guess would also be FFVII remake. I mean it's the only thing that would get requested so much, if what Nomura said is true. Kingdom Hearts III, or anything else for that matter wouldn't.

I have to agree with you though. Dissidia Final Fantasy II would be an excellent thing to see. There are so many things that could be added, things that the original lacked. Some extra characters would probably be the best for me. Unfortunately a game that has anything to do with Final Fantasy VII can't avoid having Cloud and Sephiroth in it. However it would be cool to see characters like Kain, Rydia, Locke, Sabin, Edgar, Edge, Zell, Quistis, Freya, even Quina, or Auron, Wakka, and so many more. I really enjoyed the remixed music from Dissida (most of it anyway) and I really hope they do an even better job in the sequel, if there is one that is.

Of course this is all just hypothetical unfortunately.

There's been talks about porting of Dissidia Final Fantasy to the PS3 and 360 with a graphical overhaul as well.

1. FFVII remake
2. Kindom Hearts 3
3. Dissidia 2

My bet is one of the latter two.

EDIT: "Working on sooner than I thought"

Blates Dissidia.

I'm gonna have to go out on a limb here and say they're probably going the FFVII remake route. At this point I'm not going to say whether I'm pro or anti FFVII-remake, but I'm just assuming that based on what's stated there as, knowing fans, that's the only thing they could be requesting so rabidly.

Tbh, I don't know why Nomura has stated the above. After re-reading the information, it just seems to me he enjoys inciting speculation as to what SE's 'next big thing' is going to be.

The fans (or fanatics in FFVII's case) have been asking for a FFVII remake, Kingdom Hearts III and Dissidia II for awhile, and as I stated in my initial post, I'm all for a Dissidia II. The other two choices... not so.

Still, until further information is made available, speculation is all we have to go on.

True; I've never even played any of the Kingdom Hearts games (I know, go easy guys) because there just was something about them that turned me off. They look pretty neat, but not really my thing. I dunno. As for Dissidia, I still haven't played that one either. I don't have a PSP anymore, so I can't.

Another possibility is that they may have info about Versus: Final Fantasy XIII, which hasn't seen too much spotlight as I can tell.

I recall reading in one of many gaming magazines last year (The name of which eludes me for the time being) that Versus: Final Fantasy XIII as well as the Agito Final Fantasy XIII weren't being released outside of Japan. Though that could be what Nomura is indeed hinting at... that or Before Crisis FFVII, which I admit I'd like to try.

Though, like you implied Centercore7989, the games could be others entirely and not the usual suspects (FFVII remake, KHIII and Dissidia II). I wouldn't mind a Chocobo Racing II myself, as I did enjoy the first game a lot (Even though it was Enkidoh's copy I played), a Final Fantasy Tactics II, or it could some completely new projects as well.

I know for certain that 'Before Crisis' isn't going to see a US release, which really bums me out :( I don't know much about it except that it takes place quite a while before even Crisis Core, but not being able to play it would be very uncool.

Agito: Final Fantasy XIII, from what I heard, was also originally intended to be a cell phone-only/Japan-only game like 'Before Crisis', but they changed it to a PSP title, which really made me glad :D I have a feeling fan demand would prompt SE to give us those two titles as well though. Either that, or they could have some other entirely different installments in mind for us. A Tactics II would certainly be welcome too! It was interesting to see the way they weaved the worlds of the original Tactics and Tactics Advance together with FFXII, whereas Tactics Advance's world was completely fictional in the mind of the main character, but PSXTactics' world was fully real (game-wise). So that would sure be intriguing to see their take on a sequel to the original. If they keep with tradition in the Ivalice series (i.e. giving Revenant Wings the same basic look as Tactics) then that would be a major treat to see a full-fledged sequel.

It could even be an entirely new title having no relation to the FF world at all :O SE is too good at keeping us at the edge of our seats!

Man I really need to play Tactics again. That was an awesome game. When I first played it, I found it a bit difficult but that was long ago.

Actually now that you mention it, Versus and Agito haven't gotten much spotlight. In fact a while back I read that it was going to be released on the same date as FFXIII, but I guess that's not true.

Now as for Kingdom Hearts III we can safely rule that out, because it's the KH team that's working on Versus maybe even Agito I'm not sure. Even if they have begun development on KHIII it would just be too soon to announce it.

Tactics II is a bit of a longshot, but I wouldn't mind. SE really is good at keeping us at the edge of our seats. =P

Development hasn't started on Kingdom Hearts 3, however Nomura has stated there will be another kingdom hearts game in the future, whether its Kingdom Hearts III or not, I do not know. Nomura has expressed interest in making a Riku centered game, so that's a possibility.

I would the discard the Tactics II possibility, he wasn't involved at all on tactics at any rate, besides the artwork of tactics was at hands of Yoshida not Nomura.

I would bet that it's a spin-off title, of what?, I don't know... But it certainly have many "Loved" characters by the fans. The FFVII remake is a good possibility, but I don't buy it.

What I'd like to ask is what happened with the 3rd title of Parasite Eve, they've made a trailer & said many things, but I want to see the product, how is going to be the gameplay, which direction is going to take the storyline.

Those images have since been revealed to be a fan-made fake though. There is no port for Dissidia the 360/PS3 at this time.

As for Nomura's mystery game being a new Tactics game, this is highly unlikely, given that he had nothing to do with the Tactics/Ivalice games, as Topopoz stated.

In most likelihood, this is probably just typical SE spin to drum up interest in something that will probably prove to be a big let down, about a mediocre game no one will really be bothered with. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I know what the more probable guesses are for what these project/s? are going to be, but I'm going to hope against hope for the underdog and pray that it may be another Tobal which was actually a good 3d fighter made by the Square ones or, oh I don't know, Maybe a fricking sequel to Einhnder that a lot of hardcore shoot-em-up players have been petitioning for.

What's wrong with the Wii? If Square chose to give us a Wii title, I think that would be awesome. Seeing as how not a lot of Wii games are all that great, with the exception of fitness games and Zelda, something from Square for it would be nice.

And in response to Edge Maverick, you know, I honestly didn't give that much thought but you could very well be right. DoC instilled the thought in my head that Square now planned to do a new game featuring each of VII's cast individually as the hero. I'm not sure why, but I've held that belief ever since I beat DoC. I hope like hell that doesn't happen, but surely they'll think of something along those lines.

As I said about the FFVII Compilation, I truly believe it needs to end sometime very soon, either with a FFVII remake (not that I'm pro-remake), or with a game that sums things up finally. Square's big developments needs to be something fresh and new, but as I said before, I'm betting anything it's that FFVII remake we've all been wondering about (just not willing to discuss for obvious reasons).

The fitness games are awful and gimmicky.
Twilight Princess was pretty dull. Even the creator of Zelda said the game turned out to be more like a tech demo than an actual game.

There are good games on the Wii, but nobody buys them since they're out buying poop like Wii Fit or shovelware titles.

Well, it doesn't help that Nintendo is actually targeting the Wii ads at these kind of people.

That said, Even if I'm not that excited about a FFVII remake for the Wii, if they do make one, I might buy it anyway as long as they get rid of the SD graphics and use the FF:AC models in it's place. And oh, provided that it doesn't require me to use a Wii Fit to play the Chocobo Racing game. Because I don't own a Wii Fit. And no, swinging the wiimote like an axe-crazy with a baton doesn't work for me either.

Because if they're going to take the time to remake it why not use a machine who's graphics will hold up another year or two.... Don't get me wrong, I love my Wii, I've got a few games, play it with the family. Might even pick up FF CC Crystal bearers, however, I just don't think the wii is the place to remake 7...

Sorry Hawk but it wasn’t the best selling Final Fantasy title of all time for nothing. You and the rest of the haters need to just deal with it. It was the best and most popular of the series for good reason. I take Nomura’s comments with a grain of salt only because every year when Square-Enix holds their annual conference in Japan they do a poll asking the fans what game they would like to see a remake of and FFVII always wins hands down. It will happen eventually.

I loved this comment, LOL. Yea, because we all know the fans are the makers of the games, right? Right?! What an idiot. If Square wanted to remake it, they would. Clearly they, too, see how overhyped and overrated it is and are probably sick to death of all the fanatics who orgasm over it. It's rather fitting that they get 'em all psyched for it, then crush their dreams :D

But now, I'm a little bit torn as to what game I feel Square is getting us excited about. It could be anything, but with the FFVII remake out of the question, I'm really not sure what's left that people could be requesting as adamantly as Square claims. We shall see.

If they where truely sick of it they'd likely stop pumping out shitty ffvii related games.... Not to mention the last few titles I've seen SE attempt to hype up have been utter shit/remakes of utter shit/remakes of games that never came out in the US and won't come out here anyways.
