So I'm sitting here at work thinking about video games (of course) and I keep getting the feeling that I should play FFXII again. I've beaten the game once, and while I power-levelled Vaan by himself to about 26 at the start, I flattened out and levelled at a 'average rate' the rest of the way. I didn't get any non-storyline Espers, as well as the top end magicks and technicks. I got a few decent weapons (Zodiac Spear included) and armor alike.

Would it be worth it to start up a new game file? Eventually I would do it to complete as much of everything as I can, I'm just wondering if the second playthrough is just as good as the first, or if I should let it sit for awhile longer?

(I do love the MMO aspect of it, letting you control sidequests/other events early on in the game).

You definitely should replay it. FFXII is worth a replay. There is so much material in that game, it's mindblowing. It's really fun to explore all of the aspects of it. And that is never possible in only one playthrough. Personally I've played it 5 times, and there's still a lot I haven't done.

^^I keep thinking that I could do so much that I didn't even attempt in the first playthrough. I really liked the story as well, and I liked how there wasn't a cliche love connection in it. It hints at it sometimes, but it's not as overwhelming as past games.

I will replay this game, but I really need to finish off X-2 first! (finish off as in do chapters 2-5 ;))

Yeah, I just beat the game for the first time, and looking back the game was well worth it. But I haven't done a lot of the Hunts or non-story line Espers. I plan on doing those a bit later!

I would highly suggest starting over if you haven't already ;) I sure did, and most everything I saw, I did not remember from the first time! XII is probably one of the best FF titles out there; there's so much to see and explore! I can't praise XII enough; how I got by without it for so long I have no idea! Let me come over and play it with ya :D

I would definitely recommend a replay-- beyond getting absorbed in the sidequests, I found that the first time I replayed I picked up on a lot of storyline elements that I hadn't absorbed before.

I missed the word 'it' the first time I read that. I was like '....what?' ;)

And I am replaying it (X-2 is on hold!), currently farming Dustia with Vaan only for quick leveling/gil building. It's already fantastic all over again!

Like Seru-Kai, I've been thinking over the recent FF's again, and about replaying them. I've replayed FFVIII and IX, and now I'm looking at FFX (Even X-2 as well) and FFXII.

I've finished FFX once and FFXII twice, so now I'm trying to decide which to replay first, to try and maybe rectify my original feelings about these games. As your all aware of (Or probably aware of), I have stated my extreme distaste of the PS2 FF's in other threads.

Well, I'm leaning towards replaying FFXII (for the third time), due to some minor similarities, SE used in FFXIO and put into FFXII (One being the monsters on screen and you, the player, deciding whether to attack them or not), and also trying to ignore the obvious Star Wars references (On my first and second playthrough, it felt like I was just player Star Wars in a more fantasy style setting).

I haven't played FFXII since it came out back in 2006-07 (PAL Territories got it in February 23rd I think of 2007), my first playthrough was just to finish the story as quickly as possible, second playthrough doing all sidequests etc. So after nearly 3 years, I'm thinking a revisit might be in order, but not sure.
