Final Fantasy VIII is now on PSN! Yeah, the title basically said it. Like FFVII, it's $9.99. I'm surprised nobody posted about this! ... Well, at least I didn't see a post anywhere...

Actually, I'm just wondering if it's worth it. I beat FFVII for the first time on my psp 2 months ago, and REALLY liked it, and I wanted to get 8, but this game gets a whole lotta heat from a whole lotta people. I don't know... I'll probably buy it still, but I've seen the spoony review and it DOES look pretty crappy.

I don't understand why some people just detest this game, but I happen to really enjoy it. It does get unbalanced with the junction system, but the game is very entertaining and has a spectacular soundtrack. I was really excited when it came out on PSN!!

i just restarted playing VIII this morning, and quit after 15 minutes. i used to love it. now i don't like it. but i won't sell it.

Because of the issue of playing PSX games on a PS2 hooked up to a HDTV with component cables (this happens with VC games on Wii, too, jftr), I will probably grab this at some point.

I am excited to retry this game. I never made it past the end of the first disc when it first came out due to my save data getting wiped out twice.

This is one of those things that make me want a PS3. Because from what I've heard, you can download PSX games on the PS3 and save them to your PSP and because I like FFVIII, I wouldn't mind playing it in portable form ;).

Assuming you don't have a PS3. you can also get them on your computer with the MediaGo application and put them on your PSP. However, you can't play them on your computer this way, just on your PSP. That's what I do right now, anyway.

I won't give any spoilers away but at certain points in VIII it can be a long time between save points. I don't really think it's suited for the PSP for that reason. But for the PS3, heck yeah. Didn't know it had been put on the PSN. I have the original 4 disc edition, but I'm glad it's there for others to appreciate.

You can always just turn off your psp in the middle of gameplay and resume right where you left off. That works great for me. I have the original box as well, I just think its awesome to have it on my psp.

Well, that's just assuming that you don't want to play another game in the middle. If you want to play a different game, you'd have to use the normal save points to not lose your progress. I do agree with you that it's a better experience on PS3. :)

It's like 1.7 GB, and the game is one file. MS Duos are cheaper now--I got an 8gb stick for like $25 ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013AZ19G it's $32, I got mine for $27 from another seller they list there) . Just save up $25-$30 and get a bigger card.

I really don't like the idea that amazon doesn't do Paypal (from what I've seen). A buddy of mine bought something from there and the next day, $500 was missing from his account.

I understand but I am not one of those people who praises FF7. All of the FF games are great and my favorite ones are FF7, FF8, FF9, and FF10.

Most people I know like FF7 the best and FF7 is my favorite no.1 and always will be.No other story I like from other FF games exept FF3, FF5, FF6, FF8, FF9, and FF10.

It's not bad to get a PS3 now. When I got mine it was $399.99.If you get the slim version it would only cost $249.99, but I think thats a better deal then paying $399.99.

Well, FF games deserve just as much praise as RE games do, even though there's a genre difference. People have varying tastes, but overall it's nice to know they're bringing all my favorites of the PSX to the palm of my hand. :D

Silent Hill on the PSP (the first one) sounds awesome doesn't it? Along with FFVIII and RE2 (I liked that one the best).

Okay, I found a good deal for a 16GB memory stick for the PSP on ebay for $22.88 (free shipping!) considering I bought just a 1GB at a store for $17.99. Anyways, I was looking up that MediaGo and in the list of features, it didn't say anything about downloading PSX games and putting it on the PSP. It sucks that I'm at work right now because it's a free download and I would just check it myself but I can't. So I just want to make sure that you can indeed download PSX games using it. Otherwise, I wasted 20 bucks on a memory stick that I didn't really need...

I downloaded FF7 and FF8 using MediaGo (which is indeed a free download) on my PC and put them on my PSP before I got my PS3 a couple days ago :) :) . You can also re-download the PSX games on your PS3 if you get one sometime down the road, as I also just did this with 7 and 8.
