Next Ghibli film announced heirs the first release info.
"Studio Ghibli has announced its next movie will be an anime adaptation of famous children’s story “The Borrowers,” to be entitled Karigurashi no Arrietty with a theatrical release due in 2010.
The movie will be an adaptation of Mary Norton’s famed “Borrowers” series of children’s novels, begun in 1952, which describe the adventures of a race of tiny people living amongst normal humans.
However, instead of being set in fifties England the story will be transposed to the Japan of 2010, with the titular protagonist Arrietty being a 14-year-old girl.
Cinematic release is due in the summer of 2010, doubtless with an international release planned in short order after this.
With the novel already a classic, Studio Ghibli looks set to strike gold once more…"
For now that's all I found. I'll keep up with the info and will post it here if there's any updates.
