Hey guys!

So i was looking through the archives, and i found a dead topic on the SSX 3 Soundtrack. As happens all too often, the links are dead :( I've abused google and many other search engines, but I'm unable to find anyone with the complete soundtrack. I've got the official release, but it's missing tonnes of songs :'(

Any help on finding the complete soundtrack would be great, as i'm hitting the slopes in less than 2 weeks! I've yet to find a better soundtrack to "mix-it-up" (DJ Atomica XD ) to, and anyone who's played the game will no dowbt agree.

(a p.s. to anyone who thinks about posting back with "you suck, listen to metal!!!" i would listen to rock (never metal as there is no music involved) but i find techno so much better to snowboard to!)

Hey There! I might have an answer for you! For a long time, I've been trying to find a bunch of songs that were never put on the OST. I never thought of checking out youtube. Its not too hard to do, but if your familiar with extracting youtube vids, then this might be your answer:

I managed to extract the music on the PS2 DVD of SSX 3. They are in the interactive format EA used at that time for its games.
So I tried to mess around with EA's format (mostly ASF or derivates like *.mus ...). For SSX3 it worked to 90% of the traxx by hex-editing the header of the *.mus files. I came out with several 2 sec-blocks and merged them into *.wav. Since there is a pointer file (*.mpf mayb "Music Pathfinder file"?) for each *.mus that tells the game when to load which interactive block range, the tracks are not completely "in order".

I hope you njoy all the sounds ever saved on the final version of SSX 3!

HERE THEY ARE. I think they have never been released to the net before and they rest on my HDD for quite a while. Please spread this, because the world deserves to listen to some great traxx that have never been released on a CD (NOT EVEN THE SSX 3 Soundtrack-CD!)!

Same here, I have an error. Seems that your file has reached its download limit...
Why so many people don't use Megaupload? Don't know how it is from an uploader POV, but for a downloader, it's pretty fast.

Good job Jay_T.
But i cant find the song "Screwup" or the remixed Versions of the Song, wich are played in the menu or during the loading screens.
Are they somewhere in the package and i just can`t find them?
If not do you have the versions on your pc?

Edit: Okay I ripped the loading screen song by my self, but i need to know where the menu tunes are.

Thanks, Jay_T! The SSX 3 "soundtrack" is awesome. I am trying to the same for SSX Tricky, but don't know the first thing about hex editing the headers of the files that I extracted from the .BIG file. Would you mind enlightening me about your process?

Thanks again- you are the best!

Nice upload but its missing the song i was looking for. The one that plays when you transport to peak 2 and it drops you off right before the lodge and you could steer right and go there or left to lead you into race or freestyle. The nice instrumental/beat that plays right there. if anyone knows what i'm talking about and has the beat can you upload it. thanks

edit:
I found a video. its at the very beginning. i can bearly hear the song but i'm possitive this is it.

Just registered for this, been looking all over for some tips on how to rip the music form the PS2 DVD. While I didn't figure that one out, a download link for the soundtrack did just as well, though I'd still like to know how to pick 'em out myself.

@ caliber: I have recently found a link to a small collection of SSX 3 instrumentals (unfortunately the loading screen and rider setup music is not included, despite where I found it). Anyway, in celebration of SSX (2012) not being as dramatic as the first trailer let on, here is a link to YouTube, where you'll find a link to SSX 3 music in the description. The song you want should be in there.

Credit goes to JSSJR90 - YouTube - SSX 3 Music - Loading Screen Theme (DOWNLOAD) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uf4sv1bMpDc)

Good to hear that! I think it only works that way (when everyone tries to give something back). Thanks to the coders of all those extraction and converting tools!! (i.e. Cube Media Player, EA's sound exchanger and converter tools ...)
And thanks to Koroush Ghazi and Brendan Nijboer, who helped me with header stuff and some weird programmer shit! I was just the one who had the urge to extract those damn fine tracks out of the SSX3 DVD! Those songs can be heard nowhere else (because they are raw, that means: in EA's special format "Music Pathfinder...".

Hey for the people who are looking for the ost... i've found the torrent file... its still out there. There are 2 versions.(one doesnt work, it stops at 25%) Go to bitsnoop.com and search for "ssx 3 soundtrack" then choose the one with 204mb. That one's working... not quick but its works :)

Sorry for bumping, but has anyone ripped the instrumentals to any of the songs? Thing is that a lot of the songs in the game don't have official instrumental released, so it'd be kinda cool to get them from the game.

Try getting HCS64 rip (http://gcn.joshw.info/s/SSX%203%20(2003-10-20)(EA%20Canada)(Electronic%20Arts).7z) hosted on JoshW servers (http://gcn.joshw.info) and probably you`ll find everything you want in that pack. It may appear as quite raw so some but usage of vgmstream (http://hcs64.com/vgmstream.html) for playback fixes anything which may cause the slightest annoyance to those who haven`t gotten it already.

I have a request. It's not exactly a request for the music, but I was wondering if anyone could rip DJ Atomica's Reports and Radio BIG updates that play from time to time. I had downloaded Jay T's rip ages ago, but I don't remember finding them in there.

I would really like the complete score as well. Why the official soundtrack didn't include the ambient themes such as the loading screen theme is beyond me...

Final Edit (cleaning up my reply after figuring a few things out):

The link provided above is to the lower quality Gamecube rip set. Below is a link to the PS2 "S" directory:

Index of /s (http://psf2.joshw.info/s/)

You can use Foobar 2000 to play the SSX 3 ".eam" tracks (track #25 doesn't work, I've notified the HCS64 forums about this issue)

They are stored at 32000Hz, and I've confirmed the game did in fact store them at this rate.
