NOTE: These aren't my rips, so I cannot take any credit for them. I'm just sharing them with the community.

I'm a huge fan of the old Shaw Bros. kung fu movies from the 70's and early 80's. And for anyone else who is too, this is a real special treat! I doubt any of these OSTs have ever been released commercially. I recieved these files a few days ago from a friend (online). In them are various compositions from the following Shaw Bros. films:

36th Chamber of Shaolin (1978)
8 Diagram Pole Fighter (1983)
Big Bad Sis (1976)
Brave Archer 2 (1978)
Convict Killer (1980)
Disciples of the 36th Chamber (1985)
Flag of Iron (1980)
Godfather From Canton (1982)
Heaven and Hell (1980)
Kid From Kwangtung (1982)
Lady Assassin (1983)
Legend of the Fox (1980)
Mercenaries From Hong Kong (1982)
New Tales of the Flying Fox (1984)
Perils of the Sentimental Swordsman (1982)
Shaolin Handlock (1978)
Shaolin Mantis (1978)
Shaolin vs WuTang (1981)
Supreme Swordsman (1984)
Tales of a Eunuch (1983)
The Duel (1971)
The Lady Professional (1971)
The Murder Plot (?)
The Weird Man (1983)

Many thanks! I love the Shaw Brothers movies!
You wouldn't happen to know where I can find the soundtrack for "Five Deadly Venoms" would you?

Dude...just as I've mentioned about the movies above, I highly doubt an official soundtrack was ever released (in any format) for ANY of the old Shaw Bros. movies. I'm assuming the ones I uploaded were somehow ripped or recorded from the DVDs. Either that or the person could have known someone in the Shaw Bros. studio and acquired the masters. Who knows.

Gigs worth of them are posted here
http://hatembargo.blogspot.com/
Look for each entry that is Yu Xihong's. It's his blog (same source of the files you found above).

3-4 gigs on my HD at least from there. :)

He's ripped a lot from the movies, BUT he's tracked down the movies that the Shaws took them from and got those soundtracks (lots of Spaghetti Westerns and Library Music). Lots of FDV music. Just prepare to be downloading a ton of stuff.

Start here and just get all the updates (nearly a dozen!)

Thanks for checking me out. Yes, much of this music comes straight from the records. And they're quite costly. I've peeked in on FFShrine on occasion via Galbadia, but I'm not a regular poster (this is my first post imagine that). I just happened to see a referrer from here on my blog tracker. Anyway, I'm glad you guys are enjoying the music. I'll be releasing my final climactic volume much later this year. Stay tuned!

And here's the rapidshare folder for Xihong Library. http://rapidshare.com/users/3UR2GP (although you've probably done a quite a bit of searching via blogger by now)

Xihong, your work is super appreciated! You don't how long I've been trying to find the old scores that were used in the old Shaw Bros. films. Your blog truly is a rare treasure. Thank you for all of your efforts. And thank you for providing that link. I will continue to be a fan and avid admirer of your blog. PLEASE keep up the terrific work.

Man there's a lot of good stuff, but i cant find "Duel to the death" aka "Xian si jue" from 1983.

I love the main theme, any chance it's hidden somewhere, maybe under a different name ?

Thanks
Xavier

You're talking about the one with Norman Chiu/Tsui right? Sorry, but I specialize in Shaw Bros just because I have a "system" in place. It's possible that I've found many non-Shaw Bros cues, but I'm not familiar with those movies. However, I do know what you're talking about it was the intro to Wu-Tang Forever right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N80Q6GURZpU&feature=related

This might just be the best thread ever.

I didn't think a score for 5 Element Ninjas existed so I ended up just ripping the audio from the dvd. Wish I knew about this a few weeks ago, lol.

I have more 5 Element Ninjas in my next update, but not as much as I'd like. So I'm still taking it slow...

Oh that one... it has some good strings on it, but it has some synth too (surprisingly). My guess is that it's early 80's library music or it was stolen from a 70's Japanese TV series (more likely). I'll keep and eye out.

Thanks m8, i love the synth/orchestra mix. Surprising as you say but quite effective. Movie is good too !!

I can't thank you enough for sharing this with us, Xihong. The work you've done in the past to find and share rare Shar Bros. music means a lot to me. There is a great chance that we will never, ever, get to have proper remastered releases of the old music on CD or MP3. It's sad, but seeing other SB fans, like yourself, put in all this effort makes me happy.

It's all here... Shaw Bros Folder (http://www.mediafire.com/?s31l1lbn3z3qr)

I even released a new volume a couple of weeks ago. 1300+ Shaw Bros tracks (minus the 1 volume someone reported...or whatever).

The last 2 volumes I put up can be found here. (http://hatembargo.blogspot.com/2013/01/rebuilding.html) It's more than enough for anybody to wet their beak.

Some of the Mediafire files (http://www.mediafire.com/?s31l1lbn3z3qr) still work... I didn't reup the whole collection. It's explained in the post. And you don't need them all to unrar.
