A bit of a premature request, but for anyone who might be getting this game early or playing it in Japan, I ask kindly, could you please rip the music from the game? I personally care little for tags; I'm only interested in hearing what the music has to offer.

For anyone who is willing to take up this request, it'd be greatly appreciated. Having owned and played a Silver for many-an-hour in my childhood, I'm greatly anticipating for what these remakes have to offer.

I'm hoping for a CD release, personally... No idea whether the CDs for the previous three games were already announced by this point or not, but I'd like it, anyway... Perhaps they could have the Platinum and/or Emerald exclusive tracks, too, if they have the space... That'd be cool.

If my sources remain correct, there will be (http://www.filb.de/1145) a CD release for the Gold/Silver remakes... 3 CDs, in fact, the biggest for any of the Pokemon games (all the others came in packs of 2 CDs). The only downside is, it won't be released until well into October, so I'm hoping by that point we'll have some exclusive game music rips out on the internet by then.
I'm not getting my hopes up, but that doesn't mean I'm not holding out for it.

3 CDs! That's pretty fancy! Maybe I'll have to try to get my brothers to buy it for me for my birthday... *scheme* *scheme*

Now that I think about it, though, there is supposed to be a Battle Frontier in these games, so that would mean a fair few of the Platinum added tracks are likely to be included(Since the Battle Frontier's where half of them came from). I didn't expect that much music, though, since I think the GS gamerip was less than two hours, and that was with two loops... Though I suppose there's night and day versions of all the route and town themes now, presumably, so that could fill up most of a third CD if they go with two loops again, like they did(for the most part) with the FRLG OST...

Good luck obtaining a game rip, though. Though the place that steals the music files out of the games tends not to make them available for a while if a CD is released...

^ Being an older favorite, I'm hoping that Mewtwo gets his own theme. That's something he needs to have, as just about all the other legendaries are getting their own songs.

In any case, while these aren't exactly game rips... a few of the songs.

There's a great rip going up on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/MasterJace#play/uploads/6/nV7biTlPENo) as we speak. Remember that this is just to tide us over until the official release, so YouTube is fine. Make sure to check out Goldenrod's new theme: you'll love it!

By the way, the reason the Music Super Complete is going to be 3 CDs is because it'll include, available for the first time ever, the official OST for the original Gold & Silver. We've only had gamerips up until now.

Oh yes, YESSSSS

G/S had by far the best melodies of the entire Pokemon franchise... hearing them remastered like this is total gold.

At this point, it seems the person has finished uploading themes. Not all of them, I'm sure, but has quit on uploading.
So now we're back in the same predicament, for the time being...

Well, it's a half-rip, anyways.

That's an untagged 2sf rip of the game. Over 6 hours of music, though I've not listened to it, so it's likely that some would just be stuff they left in from D/P/Pt.

Yeah. Including the original GS soundtrack would've been my other guess. :P

GigaBowserG? I know you... Though you probably don't recognize me...

It's me... Blu! I'm only registered as "Gon" because I made this account before I started going by Blue Cup. ^_^

-Edit-

The Champion battle theme is amazing. Probably the best battle track in the entire series.

Oh, hey there, Gon! Been a while; don't see you around the forums as often. ;)

That's because they're in .2sf format, NOT mp3 format... If they were in MP3, then it would be questionable... but .2sf is very compact, so no surprise it wouldn't be very big.

Appreciate the link, Emperor ServingSpoon. I'll check it out right now.
EDIT: Authentic; just need Winamp and a specific plugin or two, extract, and enjoy. :)

Holy shit, thanks a lot. Haven't listened to them all yet because there's a ton but I like how there's a lot of tracks that try to emulate the sound of the original games. It's not very authentic but it's a nice touch. Again, thanks!

If possible, could someone covert that 2SF rip to MP3s? I have no clue how to play 2SF files.

QuagsireQing

I'll convert the files and tag as much as I can tomorrow, but an untagged conversion won't be up until about 2:00 pm MST, so if you can have it done sooner, go for it.

Oh, come now! A name like Emperor ServingSpoon is VERY trustworthy! :P

.2sf is an emulated music format, much like .psf for Playstation games, or .spc for SNES games, so it's much smaller in file size due to that. You'll need a certain Winamp plugin to be able to play them, but I suspect someone will come along and convert them to .mp3s pretty shortly, anyway. It's not like Pokemon games are unpopular or something. :P Not my rip at all, though, mind you, nor my upload, so no thanks necessary.

WAV converting is done, but I still won't have the MP3s uploaded for another twelve hours, at least. If no one beats me to it, should I upload the MP3s in something like ten packets of 30 songs each, so that different people can work on tagging them at the same time?
