I'm trying to find some background music for a interview based on a kung fu game. Nothing too overpowering and also it needs to run for a long time.

Might I suggest a song from Okami? I'm not too keen on the music from the game, but I believe this qualifies as ambient oriental: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiL4O4NXYO8&feature=related

It's not the longest song in the world, but give it a listen-to. If you like it, or find another song in Okami that interests you, I can show ya where to download it~

Does it need to be music from a game and how long the interview you think will be?

How about music from films like, 'Enter the Dragon', Jet Li's 'Fearless', 'The Forbidden Kingdom', or something with more traditional Chinese instrumentations, like 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon', 'Iron Monkey', 'Once Upon A Time In China', etc?

Yeah I've got Okami, problem is many of the suitable tracks are too short. The interview is 17mins but doubt will find anything that long. Don't want to have more than 3 tracks though. Will look into some of those film OST's. Thanks for your help so far. Oh and yes any type of track is fine.

Do you want pure ambient music or is it aloud to have 'more to it?' As Sanico mentioned The Forbidden Kingdom is good, but the tracks arn't so much ambient, but they are oriental. There's some great tracks on that, my favourite being 'The Legend of the Temple Staff'.
Perhaps David Bowie's Moss Garden (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsZ33mqeOqU)?
Look at the Guild Wars soundtracks. On GW Factions you should look at 'Coastline' and 'Assassin's Theme'.

These are a bit too serious, need something more light hearted to suit the interview. It's for that upcoming xbox/ps3 arcade game, Invincible Tiger.

I don't know if it counts, but one of my favorite Chinese buffets plays Final Fantasy music in with their regular stuff. Actually, some of the piano tracks from the FF games are pretty calming, and nice to have in the background when eating. So, I guess they could be ambient.

I think that these 3 here even out to roughly 16-17 minutes, so it would be easy to pick just a few that would cover the entire interview.

What about some of the field music from Ōkami? The ones with I and II at the end...if they have the same main title, they're technically the same track, as if you play them back-to-back, no gaps, they meld into one song. You can also loop the second part, which is why it ends and begins so suddenly. So, basically, you can make one song however long you want.

okami, onimusha, kessen, baten kaitos, dynasty warriors, tenchu, shenmue.

maybe that was a bit too orchestal.

try something from: tai fu wrath of the tiger.

or maybe something from tekken strike fighting. that has an oriental feel.

maybe something from Dead or Alive.
