Probably out of sheer boredom awaiting the remake of VII. They finally noticed this game exists.

It's okay though. It'll be forgotten once more upon the Second Coming of Crisis.

I'm sure the digital re-release help.

I never touched FF III. Not even bothered with the music... does it count as ignoring?

I must admit, having replayed this one a bit over the past few weeks, I can't deny that this entry doesn't seem to receive as much attention as it warrants.

Granted, I'm your stereotypical FFVII fan, but it's no secret by now that this game has earned its fanbase. Having dabbled in the PS4 remaster, I'm finding that this game holds up far better than I recalled from a couple decades ago when I first tried it. I feel that the plot has more polish than VII's, the characters all tend to have their unique charm, and let's face it, you gotta be the most cynical old windbag not to get taken away by the high fantasy of it all. Me, I'm only a cynical middle-aged windbag. They really poured a lot into bringing this world to life, and it shows. It's easier for me to gravitate to a lead character who's always trying to lift his allies' spirits, rather than Cloud or Squall, neither of whom deserve .1% of the attention everyone slathers them with, and I actually like Cloud.

I dunno. Perhaps this one just hit me right this time around. It doesn't hurt that I was in a decent enough mood when I began my playthrough. But I hereby decree that FFIX is an all right entry all around. Stop ignoring it, people. Or I swear by all things righteous, I'll have Dagger spike your roast beast with sleeping pills.

You summed up my feelings for the most part in this latest post of yours.
