Description of the OST by the artist:

A retro inspired, modern crafted audio journey from the critically acclaimed video game Shatter. A rich soundscape that flows through electro rock and retro beats, epic guitar solos and spacey vibes.

Crafted by artist Module in close collaboration with game production studio Sidhe, the music takes the listener on a hypnotic journey through the lush visuals and scenery of the game.

Inspired by classic video game titles, and reimagined for the modern era, the Shatter Soundtrack merges an eclectic mix of genres from Electro to Glam Rock. Emotionally rich base lines are mixed with soaring guitar solos in 8-minute long tracks that are decadent and guilty pleasures for the ear.

The music was tirelessly worked on for over a year in close consultation with the emerging visuals and themes of the game. The result is a truly immersive and unique experience that conjures up feelings of 80’s new wave, stadium rock and intergalactic space rock opera.

I uploaded the OST in 320kbps MP3 format, but if you wanna support the artist and/or want the OST in a lossless format you can buy it here for 10 dollars:

http://sidhe.bandcamp.com/album/shatter-official-videogame-soundtrack (you can stream it here as well -- just in case you wanna preview some tracks before you download the full thing)

You can also buy a single track for any price you name as long as it's 1 dollar or higher. Me and a friend of mine both thought 10 bucks was too much because that actually makes it more expensive than the game it was created for, so we each sent him 5 bucks.

Anyway, without further ado, the download links:

It's a fresh-take on the breakout formula...if you have ps3 check it out on PSN. It's pretty addicting!

IGN states that Shatter, a PSN exclusive, has emerged among the best, and possibly stands as THE BEST block breaking game ever made.

Hi,

I work for Sidhe, the developer of Shatter, and also had the privilege of producing the soundtrack.

For context, the soundtrack was worked on passionately for over a year, with a lot of love and dedication going into it. We've made it available to stream the entire soundtrack for free from the Bandcamp site. If you'd like to download the album and take music around with you, then you can purchase it and select it in any format right up to lossless.

We want the music to be enjoyed by as many people as possible, but also request that you respect our copyright, and do not upload the music through unofficial file sharing sites.

Shortly the music will be available on itunes and other popular music sites if Bandcamp isnt your preference.

Many thanks,

Sephirothgreece

Hi Jos. I just listened to some of the tracks in Bandcamp, and you guys did an amazing job, and yes, I will be bying the ost, it's worth it's money!

Really hope you keep up with such amazing music. Unfortunately i haven't played the game yet.

Could i ask you an industry related question?

I would like to work as a writer for game scripts. How can one go about this in order to get in the industry?

Thanks for the kind comments - it was great fun to work on and we hope to continue collaborating with the artist on future titles!

Regarding the your industry question, perseverance will be the key here. I would target smaller indie studios, who are less likely to have writers in house. The producer on a given project is usually responsible for attaching the writer (and yes, for most games, it is a tacked on after thought!), so forming relationships with as many as possible is the way to go.

Many times, the hardest challenge for game dialogue is about coming up with many ways to say the same thing. If you think about the variation you need to being hit by an enemy or reacting - someone has to write all of that. Offering to help out in this area could be an easy way to begin forming studio relationships.

I would send updates to the studios on any noteworthy work you produce and just keep persisting.

Hope this is useful - if you have other questions, drop me a line at: [email protected]

Cheers,

Jackie Fhan

Mr. Jos, I want to compliment you on the soundtrack. I bought Shatter on PSN on impulse and it blew me away. I listen to the music constantly ! I understand your asking for copyright respect and I appreciate that. There is one thing though, with a simple firefox plugin (DownloadHelper for example) people can rip the tracks from the Bandcamp website without any hassle (except for the bonus track). Not the best best quality but respectable nonetheless. Maybe you should protect that as well.

Thanks for the kind words.

We realised the short falls of Bandcamp, but just in the same way you can easily rip the songs, pulling them off a torrent site is also fairly straight forward.

The thing we like about Bandcamp is that we can see where all the incoming links are coming from, so we can actually engage with the communities and fans enjoying the music - like this one!

We have it submitted to iTunes and hopefully it will be up soon. Unfortunately we get little or no guidance as to when that might happen!

Glad you're enjoying it - I'll pass your comments onto the artist, Module!

I knew and met majority of fans and wannabes, acting as actual relatives, members of band/artist on forums, ofcourse anyone can come up and make copyright claims, you cant say for sure who is hiding behind the viel of avatar. Anyways if no one wants to share, , PM me second part, still dont, no worries, i will spread to evry one on net, and get whole through torrent.
You cant stop evryone, you cant stop torrent, hell it would be stupid to stop us here. I was planning to get the game and suggest others, now i wont even do that.

How does that sound?

THere are plenty of other better OSTs there shared and pirated, if this is banned , so should be others.
Crap psychology.

I streamed the soundtrack on the website but wasn't blown away by it and won't be purchasing it. It's not bad but a bit too generic and trancey for my tastes. I prefer the score Baiyon put together for PixelJunk Eden. I bought that one immediately after hearing it! Good to see it available for purchase though. So many game scores are never released or available to purchase. Kudos to you for that! =)

This soundtrack will not be posted again on this site. Any further links will be deleted.

When someone that works on the soundtrack requests that it be removed, it gets done.
