Goddamn my life.

Well. I'm open to some new suggestions.

Sorry to hear that. :-(

There's always the Video Game Music Canon (Thread 54768) thread. A bunch of us worked on it over the course of a year, and it might help as a starting list of soundtracks. Links to download pages are included.

Do you back up any of your soundtracks?

This would be a serious nightmare for me. I've been DL'ing music for the past 2 1/2 years.

Sorry for your loss, Vanilla. :(

I catch most stuff on YouTube, but I'm sure someone around here could send you stuff in bulk--if that was the essence of the question.

I'll take whatever.

Anything is great.

I'm also afraid of a complete loss like that, so I feel with you. I have 2 HDDs with identical content, and for the case of both of them crashing most of the music I burned on CDs. Hope at least they will last...

Yeah backing up is essential.

I have over 800 gb of VGM, stocked in my 1tb hard drive, it's backed up on another 1tb hard drive, and i burn everything i get (also backed up over 192 DVD so far) ;)

Galbadia Hotel should be a good start to recover your collection as it's now working again, plus this forum is full of music, it's easy to get a decent collection.

Now if it was mainstream music.. few extensive 24/24 days on p2p & torrents should be enough.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear that man. I accidentally deleted about 5K songs the other day, so I know it sucks. Although that's only a fraction of my collection...I keep everything backed up on a 500 gig drive I got off amazon. Don't worry, you'll have a kick butt collection again in no time. Just grab an extra hard-drive along with it.

Damn....what a champ. I only had 120 GB of music.

I'm only at 20 GB so far.

I'm mostly pissed about losing all my doujin albums.

Been there. I feel your pain. I lost a combined 120Bg worth of anime and music (about an 80-40 split), so I know where you're coming from. I think it took me just under a year until I was able to find the final pieces which I was missing.

My entire music collection is uploaded onto my iPod now, so I guess in a way that counts as backing up my files.

Worst case scenario, just buy yourself a cheap external drive and use that to duplicate all your downloads as a just-in-case.

Here's my tip: for anything you still can't refind, I usually type very specific intructions on Google and sometimes I add the word Rapidshare or torrent. You'd be surprised the stuff you can find on foreign websites. Good luck!

I feel for you man. I recently went through a loss like that. 120 gigs worth of music ..gone. Currently, I'm sitting at around 50. Slowly but surely I'm getting all of it back.

I'm getting all my Doujin albums... But I hope I can get them back before I lost my internet.
