the ending bothered me a lot.

srsly wtf at the bit about the twinkie defense. they can't do 2 minutes of e-research to vet information?

it almost makes me wonder if they left it that way intentionally despite knowing it wasn't accurate.

I watched this recently-ish too. Sean Penn is such an awful person that it can be hard to enjoy him in stuff in spite of his actin' skills, but I thought the movie was pretty good. There was some nice camera work and a lot of good casting.

I am (distantly) related to Dan White so it was a little weird for me.

Excellent cast and excellent acting, especially on Franco's part.

All around great movie.

Hello Milk Chan this is most certainly the president, it seems that are Twinkie defense isnt actually in place or real for that matter and as the president I surly cant stand by and leave our yellow sponge cake out in the sun to get all sweaty and sticky. We need you to act on this one with haste Milk.

What are you referring to, with regards to Penn being an awful person?

He's a convicted wife beater.

How was the twinkie defense not accurate. Isn't that what he tried to use? Could you clarify at your leisure?

I was unaware of that.

Good actor though.

Milk is yet another one of those "I feel like getting an Oscar" movies, where the only thing it really has going for it is that a big-name actor is pretending to be a guy who likes guys. I guess I can give it a little more credit than a film like Brokeback Mountain--which is verifiably awful--because the events that occur in the movie are mostly true to history.
