Goldenthal really needs to work more often... Is this his most substantial symphonic film score since 2001's Final Fantasy?

People wanted Alien 3 again for Public Enemies, but they were never going to get it. This is a wonderful, brooding, introspective score that isn't outwardly showy - but it's glorious all the same.

Of course, from a score perspective, the album absolutely stinks - though I suspect there will be a proper score release of this at some stage.

Whatever Goldenthal writes, even if you don't like it (as I didn't with Alien 3 for a good few years) you KNOW you're getting something artistically sound and intelligently conceived.

Here's a completely serious vote for Goldenthal and the LSO for the next Trek movie!

This movie was really good. And so was it's soundtrack, which I paid close attention to during the film. Thanks, Sirusjr.

Odd, this is one of the few rapidshare links I've ever clicked that have been down. Would it be possible to reupload, Sirus? I'm trying to listen to more Goldenthal now that I took the Final Fantasy score seriously and realized it was spectacular.

Haha. It seems like everyone comes around to Alien 3 eventually. Not only did I love it from the start, it was one of my first scores, so it, along with Goldenthal, have a very special place in my heart.

Besides, getting Final Fantasy instead of Alien 3 ain't that bad. My two favourite Goldenthal scores, I can't decide which I love more!

But man, what I wouldn't give to hear Goldenthal return to the film scoring community...
