In two weeks FFVII was downloaded over 100,000 times making it the fastest selling PS1 game on the playstation network so far. This could spark Square enix's interest in remaking the game again.

Just because FFVII has sold well on PSN (and that was practically guaranteed for Sony anyway), doesn't necessarily mean a remake is planned.

Until Square Enix officially announces it, don't hold your breath waiting for a remake, as it's not going to happen anytime soon.

I doubt it. All that shows is that we are willing to pay again, for a game we bought and beat years ago, which has the same graphics, the same story, the same everything. (Sorry, no disk changes! FUCK YEAH!) If I were head of SE I would just be thinking "Look at these mugs. Why waste time with a re-make when they are happy to buy the same game anyway?"

What we should have done was refused top buy it, then when they saw it was a waste of time, they might sit up and think "shit, we better get started with that remake".

I should say that I am one of the mugs who got it for my PS3. I'm less of a mug than others though because I didn't pay for it.

i bought it, simply coz my ps2 wont play ps1 games.
but honestly, with uematsu turning his back on square enix, you cant remake it, otherwise id listen to whole original soundtrack rather than new one. sorry, you wanna remake the music, fine, but crisis core had price of freedom and remakes of last order and 7 music and the rest was poor. even one winged angel wasn't that amazing this time around.

I didn't download it because I don't have a PS3. Even if I did have a PS3, I already have FFVII for both PS1 and PC. And I like the PC version best anyway, and the download version doesn't use the PC script.

It's not as big an issue as some people think. When i got mine I was like "fuck this not having BC is going to be a right pain in the arse".

It really hasn't been. I just plug in my PS2 If I want to play PS1/2 games. Nice and easy. Agent, hurry with getting a PS3 man.

my ps2 broken, but i downloaded C&C red alert coz my disk broke anyways, at least now only way i wont be able to play it is if the file corrupts or ps3 breaks.

I'd say it isn't worth hunting down a BC one on ebay. Keeping your PS2 around isn't a problem at all, like Calum said, and you'll have the most recent gen PS3 so it'll be less likely to have problems.

Further, your PS3 will be going into your HDMI port and your PS2 into your composite jacks, so you can have them both hooked up.

okay admittedly, it doesnt look better than an HD, but im using SD and it DW G 2 still looks better on SD on ps3 than on HD on xbox. And trust me, i got a good eye, their is differences coz i noticed it when DW G 1 came out as well.

PS3 on SD looking better than 360 on HD.

I'm not putting down the RTB's. I'm merely saying it did not suit, i know people who still havent touched it after playing 3hours of it, they hated it that much that they couldn't force themselves through the story. Even WOW isn't just hold down forward and let your gambits do the rest, no FF game should let you win by pre-strategising a strategy battle. We know that we'll use thunder on water elementals or flying creatures, but we shouldn't have that ability to choose taken from us because we have gambits that predict the battles ahead and act for us.
FF8, you get poison put on you, you have to take a whole turn to use antidote or esuna, FF12, set up your gambit, its already done for you before the battles have begun. Just seems rather pointless, like fighting the dark aeons when they one hit wonder you.

What does it matter if they remake FFVII or not? It will come out, you'll buy it, and finish it in like, 3 days because you'll be too eager. Then you'll say 'hmm, now what? I know, REMAKE FFVIII PLZ!!" *sigh* Why don't they remake FF6 for PS3? That took longer to finish :P

Because at 7years old, you don't ask why they let kefka run away about 4 times. But by the time your 20, you say.....how could that idiot become a god?
Plus, we all seen terra's transformation, it was damn cool, BUT that on the PS3....it would have to be something pretty fantastic looking and pretty revolutionary like the whole "Suteki da ne" sequence of FFX for the PS2, taking its graphics to the max they can go.

VI has already been remade as VI Advance...

Really? I've read that it has a heavily altered script, adds in a number of new or altered monsters, new dungeons and other such bonuses.
