Im on Disc 4 at Memoria and whenever I get into a battle the battle itself doesn't load but the music still plays. I have tried it on my PS3 Im there again on my PS2 and all I have left is my PS1(Japanese)

If it is a greatest hits version I have heard of problems affecting the game. It includes the one you describe and the FMVs cutting out or breaking up while playing.

If its not a greatest hits version then maybe a good cleaning or resurfacing may help.

It works pretty good during FMV's and its the black labeled copy. Im not sure about the discs because I got the game awhile back from the flea market.

its damaged on the battle activation part fmvs seem to be located on certain parts of the disc, if its a platinum version ive noticed if fucks up alot easier. one vertical scratch on one part of the disc spells disaster for this game. problem solved if thats the case

damn, I can't beat the game now. Well I'll just have to kill Ozma that'll make up for the last few bosses then.

feel bad for ya man.
try this: go into a gameshop that does disc buffing. it removes a layer off the disc removing mild scratches. some scratches might not penetrate the disc data but rather warp the surface its under making it unreadable.

The greatest hits version did this to me too... I went on Amazon and had to buy a new one for around $20 back when it happened. Who knows if a sealed copy is more expensive now.
