Thread title is our topic, ladies and gents! Sure, it's only been out for a little while(a day? Two?), but it's still here, it's slimed people, and the flowers are still standing! So shall we discuss?

Thus far, I'm enjoying the frickin' CRIT out of it! Only just left the hotel(not far into the game, in other words), but it's been a literal blast, what with the damage I'm causing(btw Ray, thanks for racking up that $11,000 bill in your own frickin' building!), not to mention the zapping and trapping. Using the PKE meter is a little tedious at times, but still well in tune with the movies.

And of course, who could NOT love the cast? Venkman still makes me laugh, what with his sarcasm, and Ray always knows what science-babble to throw out to make you tune him out. Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd say this is their third movie, and I'm inclined to say 'well done'.

So...thoughts, oh fellow Ghostbusters?

I really do like Ghostbusters, but I'm just not going to be getting it anytime soon.

I take it you have the PS3/360 version, not that cartoony Wii abomination?

I passed on it with extreme apathy. Movie games do that to me.

I played the Wii version for a couple hours today at a friend's house. It was fun, but a little repetitive. Looking at MetaCritic (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/ghostbusters?q=ghostbusters), it seems like a lot of people felt that way. And apparently the ending is supposed to be underwhelming, which is a shame considering how long they worked on this. But it's still great to play a game with Bill Murray in it.

Bill Murray is so great, I even watched the Garfield movies.

Uh, huh. Yeah.

I have both versions, and neither are that mind blowing, I like them both about the same.I do prefer the HD version's story more though.

@ Neg: Yeah, I've got the 360 version. I didn't realize there was a Wii version(heard rumors that there would be back during delays).

@doomjockey: I'd honestly recommend giving the PS3/360 versions a good try. One of the few movie video games that get it right.
Hearing Venkman complain about getting slimed by Slimer again was hilarious.

I was a fan when I was a little tyke. Seeing it turned into a Videogame, years after both the Anime's & Films were shown from the
1980's, I was not too enthusiastic. Mostly because I seem to have lost interest. I may get it, I may not.

Fine, I admit it, I have the Ghostbusters game and I like it.

Right. I suppose I might as well try it before I write it off completely.

This game is freaking fun, no "AAA" title by any means but IT IS FUN, well written, and honestly it's the most fun I had with a video game in over a year :) too bad the pc version got the shaft on multiplayer from what I heard, thus I went with the 360 version.

I agree that it ain't a "AAA" game, but the fun is there and that's all that matters to me. I also hear the online is great, but I've yet to play it. I lol'ed when the guy at the hotel said the ball room was reserved for the "Rodriguez Bar Mitzvah".

LOL wait till you make a return to the hotel :) and yea I was not knocking the fact that it's not "AAA" btw, Hell I spend lots of time just wandering around looking at the attention to detail and trying to see what bits I can interact with.
Online is fun but can be kinda spoiled if you play with dumbasses (Not newbies but dumbasses)

Just walk up to the ghost librarian and 'take' the Gozerian Codex! Yeah, right, it's gonna be that simple...

Oh, wait. I got it, and she's disappearing. I guess it really was that sim....

HOLYFRACKING^*(&%*$&^*&^!!!!

My reaction about 3/4 of the way through the library.

I wouldn't suggest buying a game like Ghostbusters, you might want to rent it first.

Oh yeah. I forgot about the new movie and game. For some reason, I was expecting the game to be kinda lame. Guess I'm gonna have to check it out now.

I have it. I like it. I'd buy it again. It's pretty fun. But if you're not sure then I'd take mtirkmane advice and just rent it.

HEY! Who changed my thread title?!?:D j/k

mtrikmane has the right idea, but let me add that you should rent it if you're only interested in the main game(a five-day rental from Blockbuster allowed me to beat it). If you intend to 100% it, or play on Live, a purchase is entirely reasonable and actually recommended.

BTW, am I the only one who actually did WORSE on a replay through Times Square? My first time I only scored about $45K damage there, and my second time is over $310K! I didn't think I destroyed that much stuff!

Peter: And down he goes, all the...ooh! Not quite! Say, Ray: suppose three guys the size of your little finger knocked you off of a building, and you had to climb all the way back up? How, how mad would you be at those tiny nuisances?
Ray: I'd go with 'mighty pissed'.
