If you got the GF Jumbo Cactuar, was it hard for you to obtain it?

For me the first time it was really hard... then when I played the game again, it was a bit easier :uh?: Leviathan worked well against it, so that made the battle easier. I guess twas worth it, tis a good GF ^_^

i didnt think JC was really hard, but i found that it took absolutely ages to beat him

I don't think that Jumbo Cactuar is so difficult. With limit breaks and Leviathan you can beat him in 20 min.:uh?: (I know the time you beat him is very long but what can I say?........)

The battle with him is as boring as with the 20 tonberies to obtain GF Tonbery... That's what I think.

The battle with him was EXTREAMLY easy, as I just kept on using Lionheart. :D :D :D :D

Lionheart with him looked special, so I tried getting it ^_^ He wasn't that hard although his 10.000 needle attack was something like ko'able ;_; so that could have been a pain from time to time. I junctioned water to elemental attack and oh well... meltdown and aura = piece of cake ^__^
(The time to beat him took looooooong though ;_;) and I only got a mini version after I beaten him for the first, I felt so ripped off XD

Beating the Tonberries was easier than beating JC.

What I did was stock up on loads of potions, etc. I'd just use Limit Breaks and GFs...and one person would always heal somebody. It's a bad strategy, but it worked for me.

Yeah, Jumbo Cactaur isn't too hard if you're using some of the good stuff like Lionheart and all of that. The only thing to be really wary of is that sometimes, like his little friends, he escapes from battle.

It was really easy to defeat Jumbo cactuar. I just casted stop or something on him, then went really fast to get The End.

I thought the Tonberries were harder because they were kinda hard to come by, and they also could kick the crap out of Squall because he killed so many enemies. It took longer (maybe one hour) to get all of the Tonberries and beat Master Tonberry than to defeat Jumbo Cactuar.

The first time I beat him, I sucked at FF8, was level 100, and tryed beating him with GF's. Took like hours. The second time limits moped him up.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">Jumbo Cactuar was annoying. The first time, I hardly had any Auras, so I mainly had to use magical attacks. And after about 20-30 minutes fighting, he decides to run away. But then I decided to stock up on Auras and fought it again, and killed it with Duels and Renzokukens quite easily. And I've done that every time since. So he's only hard if you're not really prepared to fight him (basically if you have no Auras. ;))

I always forget hes on that island when I replay it and waste all my auras and everything on him only for him to run away. Now I keep a big note warning me about it in my game case.

I never had any trouble with it. The occasional Leviathon, plenty of Auras on Squall (his renzokuken is very effective against J. Cactuar) and some Full Lifes to counter 10,000 needles. Its a long battle, but definately not hard.

Catur was hard at all. It just took forever to beat him.

I didn't have to stock up on full lifes or pheonix downs or anything. I just gave selphie revive and squall recover, they give you all of your life back. I'm suprised though, I never here of people using them, they make the game so much more easy! As for JC I don't think it was very hard he never killed me but it pissed me off to no end when he decides to run away. As for tonberry I don't think I should even bother, I can probobly finish the game with out him.

I found out that he only runs away if you hit him with weak physical attacks after you've done a bunch of damage to him. So just keep hitting him with powerful attacks and you should be okay.

Oh, and I always get Tonberry. You can draw Full-Life (there's that Full-Life again) from him. Also, isn't Tonberry the only way to get the valuable Haggle and Call Shop abilities, among others?

The battle was pretty easy. Just keep attacking with limits and using water magic.

Therefore I too will always get Tonberry, even though I don't use the summon. Those shop abilities are very useful. I don't draw Full-Lifes from the king though, I just refine Regen Rings using L Mag-RF, 20 Full-Lifes for each one, and you can mug 2-4 from a Torama. :D

Anyway yeah, the Tonberry was another annoying one. It takes ages to kill all those regular Tonberries, and the number you have to kill varies from game to game, I've had it as few as 16 and as many as 26. I originally used to use GF's to kill them, so you can imagine that took ages; although I've found quicker ways since. ;)

I thought it varried from game to game due to how many sharp knives you had in your inventory. Like, say you had four sharp knives instead of 20 tonnberries you have to fight 16. Who knows...

<Font color=red face="comic sans ms">No, the number of Chef's Knives you have doesn't affect the number of Tonberries you have to fight. I've heard that ebfore, but I tried getting 20 Chef's Knives (the number I was told), but that didn't seem to have any effect. The number of Tonberries you have to fight just seems to be random. :)

Not too diffucult, you just had to finish him off quickly in the end. Lousy summon tough.

You should always use at least one Meltdown when fighting a boss in order to kill their defense, but there's usually no reason to use anymore.
