So, what game got you to be a FF fan?

Final Fantasy 7. First one, best one. It was back in '97, and...I was watching my mother play, and the phone rang, and she handed me the controller. She was at the part where you needed to get past the Midgar Zolem. Well, at the time, I didn't know you needed a chocobo....so I just ran across. And made it o.o;;

Amazes the hell out of me to this day.

Final Fantasy 9. After that, I played FF7, FF8, FF10... then FF4, FF5, and FF6.

FF9 is still my favorite FF. Probably will always be. :)

FF7. i was at my mates house. he let me play it. i was hooked. that was what convinced me to get a PS over a Sega Saturn

It was FF7.....so it became my obsession...The best game EVER!!!!!

Final Fantasy 7 started my obsession. At first, when I rented it, I didn't like it that much, because I couldn't get very far ^_^;;;. But when my friend left his copy at my house, I played his saved game and I loved it. Hooked ever since ^_~

ff10 started it for me. i have never owned a psx, only a ps2. then i played 7, 9, 8 in that order.

Final Fantasy 4 kinda got me started, I loved everything 'bout it. ^_^ But, I think what really got me to like the series was Final Fantasy 6. I just blew me away. XD The hours you could put into the game, but never actually finish it. There was so much you could do in that game, yet you didn't have to do it all~ I liked the fighting system too. ;D Then I played 7, which I really loved! Then 8, 9, 10, and 5. I have yet to play FF1. XD

I use to sit and watch my brother and his friend play around with FF7. I was facinated by it, but never got up the nerve to play it.

When FF8 came out, I finally took up and played it a little. I feel in love with it immediately. I didn't play it much though. I was always the kind of person who would sit and watch someone else play. I liked to help others get through the game, and just enjoy the storyline instead of playing myself.

FF9's previews caught my attention from the start, and I knew I'd have to play it myself. I found it odd how I could never get myself up to beating the game. I've had the game since it first came out, got to Memoria, and put the controller down for over a year. Why? I'll never know. Finally decided to pick it back up yesterday, and I finally beat my first Final Fantasy game. YAY ME!

But to answer the question, it was FF8 that started it all for me.

I was like that too! i still am, i watch my brother play games.. I've been doing that for along time.. I was with him when he beat ff10, chrono chross, he's even just beat bosses so i could see the ending.. Like on ff ten, i was lost on the story so he told me how it was..

It was FF3/6 for me. I remember being in kindergarten and always getting up to whelk in the very beginning of the game, then turning it off. this went on till i was in 4th grade. i decided i would play it. when i did, i got to the floating continent, but then restarted it a couple of times because i thought that it would b too hard 2 beat. i never made it to the end of the game until just a few years ago, but i still have never beaten it. i probably never will. i feel like if i do, then i will be closing a chapter of my life, and i always want those pages open and getting new print. my lifes like a..."neverending story" if you will.

FF7. My friend (who had never played an RPG) bought the game and said it sucked, so he let me borrow it for as long as I wanted. After a couple of hours I realized that it was something really special, and I played it ALL the time, until I eventually bought my own copy and beat it. And then I ran down to EB and pre-ordered FF8 and I've been hooked since.

Me and my brother had read in a magazine about FF7, and once it came out we went and got it =D~ At first I watched him play it, cuz I used to always like watching him play video games. Then once he beat it, I thought I'd give it a try. So I did ^_^

When FF8 came out, my grandpapa bought it for my brother on his birthday, so once again I watched my brother play it, and once he beat it, I liked it lots so I tried playing it ^_^ Twas kool.
I loved those games, and playing them tis how I got to lovin Final Fantasy and lots of other rpg's.

I remember when I first played a FF game. It was when I was in middle school, and NES was still the main system.....yes I'm old. Well I had played and enjoyed Zelda, and a friend of mine had bought Final Fantasy to try it. I played it at his house and was instantly hooked, bought it for myself and have bought every American FF release since. I bought a playstation just because FF moved to Sony.

My fav FF still has to be 9 though. For some reason that story just appeals to me the most. I don't know though 6, 7, 10 are all classics too.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">FF7 was my first FF. My friend showed me it one day; before that I would probably have never thought of playing FF at all. He showed me it and I liked it, so I ended up buying it. I thenk got FF8, FF9, and later 6 and 5 aswell. Great. :D

Final Fantasy 7 was my 1st FF. I borrowed it from the library and after have played it, I had to reterun it. 2 Days later I borrowed it again and after that I bought it. I played it alot and I'm still playing it. I've downloaded alot of roms FF2,3,4,5,6 and I also have FF8. I quite disapointed that FF9 and 10 werent released for the pc. With the upcomming of FF11 I'm all happy again.

FF2/4 did it for me. I played FF1, but wasn't a huge fan of it. Once I played FF2/4 I was instantally addicted to FF. I've played each one released after that.

I needed my mom to play co-op with me to defeat the Covenant in Halo, XD.

Anyways, Final Fantasy 7 was a great game. It was very addictive and swung open the doors to the Final Fantasy franchise for me. When 8 came out, i didn't really like the look and the system so i strayed away form FF. Then when FF9 came out i decided to give it another chance, and well, the rest is history. Answer: ff9.

I got hooked by the great angeler FFVII, or was it FFI hmmmm. Oh well i watched my dad play FFI (Begining to End) He played FFVII and said thats the last FF game he is playing. he had the good idea, so far all the other ones pretty much sucked..... plots wise, thyeir all mother Flippin' love storys now.

FF7, I kept going round to my friends house and watch him play...but he always used to be a meany and never let me have a turn :p

and now he doesn't have a PS2 and want to have a go of FF10 on my PS2 and guess what I say...:p

FF8 got me hooked i had always heard final fantasy was great i didnt even know it was an RPG! boy that was way back in the day, then i got 7 and just went nutz. NOw i own 7, 8, 9 ,and 10 and am gunna get 4, 5 ,6 soon!:D

Final Fantasy 1 for original nes got me hooked on the series! I've been a fan since day 1!

FF8 got me hooked, I started off on the PC version, after that I bought PS2 so I could play the non PC released Final Fantasy games, so I bought 10 afterwards, then 7. I havn't tried 9, people on the board here overall seem to think it's good, but the people I talked to in person say they didn't like it. I guess I should look into it.

For me it was FF7 after my older brother had borrowed it from his friend and I got to play a bit of it before he had to return it to his friend. Later me and my 2 older brothers pitched in to buy FF7 and I sorta got addicted. Sadly, my FF7 disk got totally screwed over and my memory card was mean to me so I didn't really finish it properly but my older brother managed to finish it so I know what happens.

Soon my older brother borrowed FF8 from his friend and I really enjoyed it but my memory card kept screwing up. Later FF8 had to be returned again and for my Christmas not last year but the year before that I got FF8 and I got right in to it so now it's my fav. Soon I went to my auntie's house and this guy around my age (who sorta looks like Zidane and is sorta cute) got me in to FF9 and I asked for it for my birthday last year and I got it.

Yus, I enjoyed FF9 too but it wasn't as good as FF8 I think. Yus, to put it short FF7 was the FF game that got me hooked into the FF series ^_^.

well i always had final fantasy for nintendo but when i played ff7 for the first time...well at least saw it ..my cousin was at cosmo canyon i was amazed...from what i saw...just amazing...

FF7 defo i saw the ads on tv then went out and got it,plus it was the best game id played when i was 10 when i finished it,and remains the best

FFVII. It was my sister that bought it and first played it, then I started playing it. It's still my favorite.

FF8 started it for me....

I went over to a friends house, and she started playing FF8 when we got bored, and i watched.....

Soon I saw how cool it looked, then i went out a got a copy for myself and sat through to finish it... after 99 hours (all my characters had maxed out stats) i finished the game and still i go back to kick the last bosses ass....... just for the finshing FMV....

Then i went back to the old ones, FF5 and then FF6, both really good as well i finished both of them.....

Afterwards, i was hooked and FF9 had come out, so i played and finished that, not as good, but a FF none the less...

Now i am playing FFX and kicking ass.....

And no, i haven't finished FFVII, coz i dont like it....

FFI- THE ORIGINAL. That game was so great, in its day it was the king of my NES game collection. (not that big, 30-40 games).

It would have to be Final Fantasy I, I remember watching my brother playing it getting so envolved in to the game that it drew me in and I haven't stoped playing the ff series.

FFI for me. Way back in 1990 when I was just a kid weaned on Mario, and seeing a strange little RPG with a guy wearing a red cape and feathered hat (the Red Mage) playing on a NES in a department store toy section. That was it. I was hooked, not only on FF, but on role-playing in general. Alas, I never owned a FF game until FFVII, but I rented both FFIV and VI on the SNES (they were never released commercially in Australia, but I manged to find a video store who imported them.). Then, one day in November in 97, my brother's pre-ordered copy of FFVII finally arrived. I remember him disappearing with the game into his bedroom and not seeing him again until the next day! That's when I finally managed to play it, and it all came flooding back to me!

As a result, I am now a devoted Final Fantasy fan, and own all the games from IV and up (I even have those SNES versions of IV and VI too), as well as a ton of FF merchandise. Thank you Sakaguchi-san, for nearly 12 years of gaming memories!

FF 2/4 was actually the first rpg I ever played, and although I loved it, FF 3/6 is the one that got me hooked on the series. I don't think I'd ever even come close to being that attached to characters in any other video game I'd played prior, and that I'd played since. Even inspired my first attempts at fan fiction.

I would have to say FF4.. because before that I didn't know what Final Fantasy was.

I remember buying it at Toy'r'Us back in '92, because the back cover looks interesting. I'm glad I picked it up :)

FF4 got me goin. then after that, it has become my favorite series.

FF6. Without a doubt my fav. of the series and in my opinion the best.

Final Fantasy one got me hooked. the I forget about the series for a while then ff4 got me even more hooked. then I stopped playing. but when ff6 came out it was over :)

FFVII. I thought it was kinda boring at first, but after Avalanche's first mission, I was hooked. ;D

The Final fantasy game that got me hooked on the series would have to be Final fantasy 7 because that is the first game for ps i ever played because it came with it !!! so i thought i should try the next one but it wasnt good to play over again i thought it was really fun the first time i played it and then it just got on my nerves (Final Fantasy 7 = GOOD GAME)

A long time ago I tried to play FF7 but, I could not concentrate on it. So I tried FF8 a couple years later and I was hooked. But I'm now playin 7 again and it's more interesting now that I'm older I understand it better. But I'll always LOVE FF8 the most of all. I really haven't tries any of the others but maybe I should someday.:D

Well i first played final fantasy III or VI(whatever u want to call it).I loved it,and it got me hook to RPGs itself. But Final Fantasy VII is the one that got me hook on the fantasies. I mean cool story,characters,fighting system(materia is the best),and of course the coolest and baddest bad guy SEPHIROTH.

FF6, it was the first rpg in SNES that was really interesting to me, back then I didn�t like rpgs before FF6 because I found the story to be boring but with FF6 it felt more like a movie than a game.

It has to be FFVII that got me hooked into the Final Fantasy craze. I remember watching my dad play it on the PC and thinking WOW. Since that day I've been hooked and every time I play any Final Fantasy game I become that little more obsessed.

I remember first getting hooked to III when i was younger but then i didnt really play any of them for a while but when VII came out i was VERY HOOKED! ever since i get all the final fantasy's the day they come out if possible but my favorite will allways be Final Fantasy VII ^.^

I played FFIII on SNES and I liked it, but I didn't really finish it.
When I played FF7 I got all hooked Up with the series...so I think it's FF7:D

I would also have to say FFVII. It was the first one I played, and after that, I always find myself waiting for the next one to come out.

FF2/4 and FF3/6 got me in to Final Fantasy and Rpgs in general. Oh the sweet ole days in 1992 playing FF2 on my snes then my brother got FF3 for his birthday and I achieved nirvana.

Actually I think it was Final Fantasy Tactics, then I really got hooked on FF7.

The Final Fantasy VII Demo got me hooked, I liked it so much I went out and bought the game, then FF8 so on.

ff 7 was the one that got me hooked but i don't take it to serious it's also my favorite game in the series.

Definetly FFVII! Although, I admit I knew about V & VI before, for the SNES that is. VII was the very first one I played and I still play on and on and on. I'll never stop playing VII it's my fave.

Final Fantasy 4/2, I had rented it onec, and couldn't find it for the longest time. I finnaly found it later and also purchaced the Chronicals. The one on the PlayStation is the hard-type version from Japan right? I didn't find it any more difficult.

Definitely FF6, it got me realizing theres better games out there then jumping plumbers saving princesses. Plus it was my first Final Fantasy I played.

I think that Final Fantasy eight got me hooked on final fantasy the game was awesome.

Well....for me it was Final Fantasy 6 for SNES. That game was the foshizzle. 7 was awesome....8 was crap...9 was good...10 was bland...X-2 is....eh....XI is good and XII is "looking" good

The first two FF's I played were FFIV and VI. So I credit them for getting me hooked on the FF games. Out of the two, I'd say it was FFVI which really drew me in, what with the good story and characters and a real nutbar as the enemy, Kefka. It was great.

Fijnal fantasy seven got me hooked before that i had never heard of final fantasy so i think ff7 is the most addictive oine of the lot

That would be Final Fantasy IX. ^_^ Its the first one I ever bought and its the best one,to me,Always will be.

I didnt even know what FF was till I played FFIX. I saw the commercial for it on TV and thought it looked really awesome. I got it that Christmas ^_^

Since then I have played and beaten all the Final Fantasy Games. Except for 5,6,10-2,Tactics,Tactics Advanced, and Crystal Chronicles. I have X-2 and Tactics but I havent played them yet. u.u.

My First game was Final Fantasy I. No, I'm not very old, I just saw it and bought it at a yard sale for $2 ;). That was my FIRST "full" version FF. I also played the FF7 demo, and then got the game in 99 or '00 and I havn't beat it yet :(.

this is gonna sound really sad because the first game to get me hooked was ff7...which i first played a month after X release...but thats ok, i have more hours on most of the games than lots of people and i researched ff down to almost every last detail, i know more about it than most people.
