How interesting. Usually not fan of Revell, but as it's performed by the CPPO, it could be actually good.

Thanks.

better than Brian Tyler?

Worse than Brian Tyler, in my opinion. Although my favourite one is from the movie by Toto.

Sanico is welcome to his opinion, but I have to disagree.

This is an excellent score. Toto's is good for the world Lynch created but for a more subdued musical look at Herbert's creation, Revell does a magnificent job.

Brian Tylers follow up to the sequel series has its own merits.

Curious to check this one out. I saw the miniseries a year or two back, but don't remember the music very well. I don't remember being terribly impressed in the film... but I definitely want to give it a second chance on album, especially since I love the book, plus musically gives some awesome things to play with.

Also, have any of you heard the Complete bootleg of this?? I have seen references to it, but haven't found people actually reviewing it.

(the above link is a cover artwork that shows the track listing). That cover implies there's almost twice as much music as on album, so curious what all might be there? If anyone's heard this longer version, I'd love to hear some thoughts. Is the new material worthwhile and add to the experience, or is it mostly repetition? Also, is the sound quality high, or is it some kind of dvd-rip or something with SFX? Thanks!

I listened to the Complete version of the score finally, and give it a stamp of approval, for those fans of Revell's music. For those not too enthused, I admit that the 2 hours are quite long and often drag, with lots of meandering and annoying synths... pretty much the album, but more. But as far as the release itself goes, it's in good quality, sound is clear, and given all the Alternate cues, I'm guessing these are the Recording Sessions. So for fans of the original album, this should be a cool download.
Also, as I love making cover artwork and didn't quite like the one that came included with the download, I decided to make my own. Here it is, let me know what you think. Enjoy.

@thegrizz70x7 ...the site that link was posted on (ma-g.com) has cut all its soundtrack pages and is now posting porn instead. Could you upload it, by any chance? I like the single disc score and would like to here the more complete version

Oh geez, sorry about that! I actually don't have those files on my computer at the moment, but I'm sure if you try doing a search online, you should be able to find the complete score somewhere. Good luck!

Wow! Why is this thread in the VGM section? :)

It could be an error in the original, but I doubt that, since the poster was sanico. It might also have gotten incorrectly shuffled in one of the server reorganizations/file tree adjustments

That's true lordtalien. The thread was created when there was only one big download section, before the forums were divided in like we see now today in anime, VGM and films sections. And like some other threads of that period, they were allocated here on VGM at the forums reorganization switch moment.

If anyone wants a re-upload of this let me know.

New links added to the original post.

Is it just me or at around :41 into the last track 'Paul Chooses/Finale', there's a brief nod to the Toto theme of the movie version?

Sanico, is it possible for this re-upped again (only if it's not much trouble)? I just found that my own copy has been corrupted.
