But I REALLY doubt it...the Promised Land they were referring to was the Land of the Ancients...it wasn't on Planet at all. Besides, I don't think anyone really considers Midgar a promised land o_O

i agree with ExS.... but u never know, it could be like planet of the apes or summin, you know, the same planet but at a different time :eye:

I thought North Crater was the Promised Land because that land was *apparently* rich in Spirit Energy because the Meteor hit there ages ago and hundreds of Ancients/Cetra sacrificed themselves to try to rejuvenate the land making it abundant with Spirit Energy/Mako/Materia.

I could be wrong though...

With Red XIII looking over Midgar, I think that was to show what comes of misusing and abusing the power of Spirit Energy and it shows the place obliterated meaning the Shin-Ra got their just desserts. :D

Interesting... but this is what I think...

the Promised Land is the Lifestream itself... since it takes the Lifestream to keep the planet alive, and to heal the planet from its wounds (like the crater)... therefore, the Ancients were seeking it to heal and revitalize the planet...

The promised land to me is death, a place where all spirits come together
The shinra believed a place full of mako was the promised land wich it wasent

You are totally off my friend, it is not Midgar it is the one town that you dig stuff up..Its around the northern continent and I think the town's name is Bone Village, or something like that. Anyways you go in to Bone Village and you have to dig the item up (I forget what its called im guessing lunar harp?). Then you go into the forest located in the northern part of town and keep going until you get to a little village. Go sleep (Its the right course I think) and you will see sepiroth coming and going. Before this you should save, take the left course. Now you follow his footsteps (I think...have really bad memory havent played FF7 in a LONG ass time). This is all I can remember the rest is on your own..

Nah, I always thought the Promised Land was where someone went off to when they died. So, in a sense, Aerith did find her Promised Land.

...of course Midgar is not..the Promised Land....I believe the Promised Land..lies within the LifeStream....

I think the promised land was the final battle area where Sephiroth and cloud dueled, and the lifestream. Like Amy said, dieing would prbably get you there. Sorta like a heaven hell type of thing.

And with midgar in the end, I think that was showing how the abuse of machinery will get the world destroyed.

I have the same theory of Amy, the Promised Land is when they die.

aeris says in the hotel at golden saucer that she thought the romised land was is nt a place more of sometime when you feel happy in the world they didnt necassarily go to the promised land just find completeness where you are complete and fulfilled

i think that the promised land would most likely be the crater or lifestream(which ever you prefer) its all green, like mako, yuh know. so its like yeah. yuh know.
