the main themes for sa2 and sa1 wer good. his world is awesome. emerald hill, green hill, scrap brain, escape from the city, etc. sonic games have great music, so it's hard to name all of my faves

High five! Spencer Nilsen's work was fantastic and very underrated. It's probably one of my favourite soundtracks of all (Stardust Speedway Bad Future stays one of my favourite songs after all those years).

The soundtracks up till Sonic Adventure 2 (and even a bit of ShadowTH and Heroes) are still quite good thanks to Jun Senoue's great compositional skills, but after Sonic Rush, Riders and Sonic 2006 it all went downhill IMO. So much earbleeding tracks...

"Gun Fortress" from Shadow The Hedgehog. What an amazing blend of subtle electronica and melancholic jazz. I don't think I've heard a single level music that sounds like this Senoue masterpiece.

Oh come on!! The music in Sonic 3 is just as good as the first 2. Personally I think sonic 1 had the weakest music of the three, although it has some good ones. I really like them all though, I'm just saying I like 2 and 3 more. That being said, I really enjoy the special stage theme of sonic 1, chemical plant zone and aquatic ruin zone of sonic 2, and death egg zone as well as Chrome gadget among others from sonic 3.

For the actual gameplay, I would choose the first 2 over the third sonic.
