I *highly* recommend NOT downloading anything that the user Porko_Rosso (http://forums.ffshrine.org/member.php?u=321901) has posted, on the grounds that there is something up with his actions.
I apologize in advance if there is nothing wrong with his uploads, and that they are clean, however, I strongly feel that something fishy is going on, because he is uploading music that is not supposed to be posted on these forums. I strongly recommend waiting it out, until Sarah, the admin of the site, makes her say. Until then, I recommend staying put, and holding off on the downloads.
Again, my apologies if there is in fact nothing wrong with the uploads, but I've been here for a while, and I think something big is going down. (viruses, trojans, malware that calls home and tells the publishers that you downloaded such and such files, etc)

Best thing to do is mark it as spam and put a quick message in.

Real or not real. Those kind of download don't belong here. This is a forum about video games, video games music and soundtracks.

Agreed. It's one thing to have game music and soundtracks that are generally available only in Japan or don't have an official release, but stuff like that can attract unwanted attention. I personally won't download anything (except movie soundtracks to check to see if I want to buy them) that I can get by walking into my local Best Buy.

When I clicked on a link (before reading this warning)
it takes you to another link that asks you to pay $1.50 for a password so that you can download the file - so I X'ed out of there and didn't download anything
Thanks for the warning

I'm going to say that I have downloaded something...there is a tab that when you click on the link that allows you to download it for free. There wasn't a virus of any kind to my knowledge or that has been picked up by my software as of yet. But I do agree that this site is for movie/game/anime soundtracks and not for mainstream music. I hope this helps at all.

That's odd - when I clicked on the free download tab - it just popped up again with pay $1.50 tab and it wouldn't let me download it. Oh well.

It's ok...I just wanted to check out the Linkin Park Piano album and it sounded very amateurish haha.

We download music, but this kind of music does not belong here

I wholeheartedly agree even if I stated it before. If I want that kind of music I use torrents. This community and forums are built upon the love and sharing of video game music not mainstream pop.

Unless we have a logical porpuse to put something that has nothing to do about, or is somehow (in very little way) related to games soundtracks (or anime and movies scores) we can almost post anything we want.
I posted the discography of a J-metal band, ANTHEM, the relation to games, is that is the bando of NAOTO SHIBATA, the guy that composed and produced the castlevania DRACULA'S BATTLE heavy rock albums, and KONAMI SHOOTING BATTLEs. here we have a relation on it.
But the post I seen of PORCO_ROSSO.... it's like trying to mix meat with fish! they dont get married dont they? XD

Again, I don't understand some aspects of the logic that went into some of the arguments against Porko Rosso's topic. Though the majority of my disagreement stems from the fact that there's a lossless film music topic in this sub-forum, which is only supposed to be for Japanese animation and video game soundtracks. There's also some traces of foreign music topics as well, though that's not so much a source of potential legal problems like commercial music soundtracks to American films.

There is another song collection made by him that lasts five pages long, is that safe? or do we need to worry about that too?

Assume everything that he posts poses some kind of threat, although that may not be the case for some, still refrain from downloading from the links he post up.

Oh and thanks for the warning FDM~

i don't get it. is sarah the only mod here? ban porko rosso or issue him a warning forcing him to reply. if he doesnt reply, then we are right that he's dodgy. i suspect he's a troll or a plant to have this forum closed down.

this forum should be a closed membership with invite only to protect its members, the forum itself and the future of everyone's enjoyment.

That would be a good idea but, the only problem is that there would be no point in advertising the fact that we have forums when they're on invite only. No body would be able to get in without going through a hassle first.

but we have a big enough and stable, active community. why expand and make it mainstream, it only risks exposure to the wrong people that could shut the forum down. maybe harsher moderating could be applied?

They usually say bigger is better, and it wouldn't hurt to have more active members in the community.
Sure there is that risk but that is why we have moderators to eliminate those possible problems.
All we have to do is let everyone know about this warning and have some kind of warning set out, other than that, there is not much we can do right now but see how that person reacts.
If porko does not heed the warning then that is when we can do something about it.
Of course eventually porko would be getting the warning by at least today or tomorrow, so by saturday we can talk about having a ban issued and all of porko's posts deleted.

I don't really understand about the issues... but I don't want to do anything that would violate the rules, so thank you for the warnings... (^_^)
