This is the soundtrack to the anime The Tower of Druaga ~the Aegis of URUK~ with music by Hitoshi Sakimoto. It has some orchestral tracks although sadly is not 100% orchestral like Romeo x Juliet.

I'm sure the link will work eventually...but until then I'll upload a sendspace link to supplement it.

Holy hell, where did you find this? I didn't even know it had been released!

Just to clarify: This is for the second season - Sword of Uruk, not the first season - Aegis of Uruk? Or is it both? The cover is confusing. Aegis was last year, Sword is this year and is still running.

I've been looking for Aegis forever.

Rapidspread link is still dead for me, but looking forward to this immensely! Thank you!

Dannyfrench I have no idea which one it is from. I just happened to notice an upload on my favorite Japanese bittorrent tracker and noticed it said Sakimoto did music so i grabbed it! I guess you can let me know if its the stuff you've been waiting for when you get a chance to dl it and listen. I'm updating OP now with Sendspace link :)
EDIT: The file tags say Aegis of URUK soundtrack so I assume it is what you have been searching for or possibly both.

Crikey, has it finished already? There is not enough time in a day - I haven't even watched Aegis yet! Thanks for the link - I'll get started on those tomorrow.

And thanks for the Sendspace link - Rapidspread is still fritzing me around. I've refreshed that link about twenty thousand times in the last fifteen minutes and I was seriously considering crying.

Looks like it might be both series' lumped together into one album. Judging by the file size, this is going to be 2cds... One disc per series! Splendid!

Sorry to dissapoint but the added file size is because I included the full singles for intro and ending that were in the same torrent for fun :P.

It's strange thing, 'cause for some time (rather long) I was kinda anti-sakimoto because of his repetitive style (and I'm almost sure, that on ffshrine U can find at least one post that shows it;))... But after some time I discovered that I LOVE this style:). So yeah, new Sakimoto is always welcomed in my speakers:). Thank U very much:).

Nice! Stylistically quite close to Romeo and Juliet... But it suffers at the hands of the budget... Eminence isn't a bad orchestra (lately) by any means but they are shooting themselves in the foot recording in Australia. You can do a lot better for less money in Eastern Europe. Why would you record with Eminence at all? If you've got unlimited money, you go to London and hire the LSO. If you've got a reasonable sum of money, you do it in Tokyo or you go to Warsaw. If you've got no money at all, you go to the Czech Republic or Bulgaria.

What do you gain by flying to Australia, hiring an orchestra known for performing anime and video game music, sitting them down in a ridiculously expensive recording studio (with equally expensive engineers from Fox)... and then only having enough money left to record ten minutes of music with them?

Very weird...

Sirusjr
04-27-2009, 05:34 PM
Yeah dannyfrench the only reason I can think of is that Sakimoto wants to support eminence because he also used them on Opoona and Odin Sphere.
Everyone is very welcome!!

Does anyone have the The Tower of Druaga ~The Recovery of Babylim~ Original Soundtrack? It was released before the Aegis of URUK.

Good news guys, soundtrack for The Tower of Druaga ~The Sword of URUK~ just showed up in a torrent (http://www.gamemp3s.net/tracker/download.php/539/The%20Tower%20of%20Druaga%20%7Ethe%20Sword%20of%20 URUK%7E.torrent). I posted it in the first post! I looked at the tracklist and the names are completely different than the first one I uploaded so it is very likely new!

Maxwill - I will keep an eye out for The Recovery of Babylim soundtrack. Although I found a post on a forum (http://www.cocoebiz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=805) which suggests that it is not worth buying so I am a little hesitant to go on yesasia (http://www.yesasia.com/us/online-rpg-the-tower-of-druaga-the-recovery-of-babylim-album-dvd-japan/1014056925-0-0-0-en/info.html) and buy it myself to share. You are welcome to in the meantime.

See I was hoping that these scores would have more live performance. Sakimoto's music comes to life through an orchestra and I feel that synth really doesn't do his work justice. Why is it that his epic and aggressive tracks never get recorded? I love his emotional and gorgeous styles but his battle themes are sometimes godly and I never usually get the opportunity to hear them performed.

This is some good stuff. Neither album on its own feels complete, but if you've got two hours to spare, put them in the playlist together and cut out those opening and ending vocal songs that he didn't write, and you've got yourself a very nice chunk of that Sakimoto goodness that some of us really love. A little more ambient than a lot of his stuff and I do wish a lot of the tracks were longer, but listen a few times and it'll sink in.

Thanks some more for these rarities, Sirus.

This show is so underrated. But then again, to see how good it is, you have to have enough faith to watch a second episode after the disaster of its first.

It took me a while to figure out that this was the same guy who wrote FFXII's soundtrack. I'm not sure whether I'd like the game, but I've loved its music for ages.
Sakamoto's style is definitely distinctive, and it is sometimes repetitive. However, it's always very fun listening.
