OK I heard that Tidus and Cloud are going to be in Final Fantasy XII.
I'm not sure sure if this is a rumor, but it would be great, if it's true. :D :D :D :D :D :D

i think that would be kinda stupid to bring back old charecters back to a new game. the older games are perfect just the way they are. they dont need to bring them back and make the newer game better.

I have heard of Final Fanstasy XII. But I don't hope they use old characters for a new game.

and from who, where did you actually heard this? What's your source from this? Cuz I think this is highly unlikely for the lines of FF.

Normally (but heh, who am I to know what normally happens) Game compagny employees such of Rare, Square devolping a new game aren't allowed to talk about it even with friends

Well,I have never heard of bringing back old characters(except in that Disney game SquareSoft is making;I think the staff found some pot and started smokin it when working on this game!!!The characters names are diffrent but the look very,very like their cou ter parts;like Tidus,Wakka, etc)

edit: no need for an attachement of FFXI whilst we are discussing beyond FFXI. ;)

well Cloud is an exception he's just cloud but bringing others back would be dumb they did it with cloud and i think they should be done with it

How would they fit into the same story? They take place in totaly different realities. It would be interesting to see how they came to be in the same story o_O.

after seeing 10 break the streak of world map, atb, etc.... i doubt that they'll bring old characters.

ps: many ff characters are starring in kingdom hearts...

Funnily enough, I was thinking about something like this earlier today.

Even though it would take a bit of explanation, they could do something about life on other planets.

Picture this: Buganhagan is up in his laboratory doing his planet thing, and something happens. He makes a discovery!! He finds life on other planets!! He tells Avalanche about this and they contact aries at that place where they saw her come up after you have found the key underwater. She tells you your mission so to speak and you set out to build a spaceship that can take you to these other planets. So you go off to FF8 people *or you could leave FF8 out of it as many people are FF8 bashers... me being one of them* and shit happens. and so on and so on. and like, all te bosses from the games could get together and try to take over the universe or something on a boss planet.

You will probably all think I'm stupid, but what the hey, it could happen. there's probably more chance of that meteor hitting the earth in 2019, but still.

If this is true it'll probably be just a small cameo/side quest that really has nothing to do with the main plot of the game. I think its nice of square to throw in little extras for the people that have played many of the past FF games.

i wouldn't beleive this.. they always use new characters (the FFT thing was a side quest) so i wouldn't think they would use past characters unless the story goes into the whole prophecy thing...

I don't think there in FF11 you make your own characters, so you won't be able to be them anyway. Of course you can make them

Well, Tidus, Squall, Yuffie, Wakka, Selphie, Cloud...nearly everyone's in Kingdom Hearts. And Aeris! Voiced by Mandy Moore! *shudder*

...and Cloud and Aeris appeare in FFT...

So I don't see why they couldn't make a cameo in FF12 :D

Now I am suure I have heard this rumour before, but with another Final Fantasy game and other main characters that were rumoured to appear in them.
I�ll just be sarcastic and say that when FF14 will be released there�ll certainly be a rumour spreading that goes like "Squall in FF14??"...
And as always, I will not believe something like this until I see real proof, aka the game.

Besides the FFT cameos, Kingdom Hearts appearances, and FF X sequels (oh, and there's that one Enhergeiz thing) I highly doubt we'll see characters from past games make their way into future FFs.
I heard FF IX was going to feature FF VIII characters. Psshaw! I don't think XII will be a direct sequel of any kind, despite talk that XII might be X-II (Rikku and Yuna's games).
I'm looking forward to XII, but what about those new Nintendo games? Argh, backstabbing Square!:(

Anything more then a tiny cameo would upset me. The whole fun of playing a new FF is getting the opportunity to meet all these new characters, having a new and interesting story to get lost in. I hope there's not too much substance to those rumors.

i think they already screwed up cloud and tidus in kingdom hearts so i dont think they should do it again
square has always created new and interesting characters every ff game
besides.... characters are good for only one game unless its a sequel which in case, the characters belong to each game and should stay that way
