It's a very strange anime... and I'm not sure if you'd want to see it. 0_o it practically falls into the realm of child molestation...

It's cute in it's own little way, but I had problems watching all three OVAs objectively.

However, the music is pretty nice. It's sweet and rather pleasant.

It's Shota... basically boys... touching and playing with one another. It's a natural thing to be curious about sex as young children... but they don't look older than maybe 7 or 8. Though of course all the models were 18+, and so on... so there is no real child pornography.

But it all depends on one's taste.

I know someone who's seen each episode, and was told that Boku no Pico was too gay overall, but the 2nd & 3rd episodes weren't too bad.

Well, every episodes are weird, especially the first and his "hidden" part..
Most people have prolly seen an episode long of like 5 mins, but the 1st one has 30 min lenght, like the 2 other ones...

It's supposed to be "gay". That's why it's called Yaoi. Rather hardcore too, even if they do blur out the parts. I haven't found too many yaoi's that go that hardcore (but I haven't seen every yaoi anime yet).

I'm new here and I was wondering if anyone knows the name of the track from Boku no Pico (that I unfortunately couldn't find on the upload with the complete soundtrack, which Mewsie was kind enough to share): the theme during the first scene of the ova (sex scene), and later on when Pico runs away after Mokkun can't tell him what he means to him.

The theme has no lyrics, only instrumental
I was looking for this specific song and when I see tha it's not even on the CD...:(

Would you know how one might attempt such a feat? I mean, there is a program called AoA Audio Extractor, which can extract the audio from videos, but after that, how would one attempt to edit out the talking? With a program such as say, Audacity?

Audacity works, personally... I don't like it very much. I use it only to try to attempt to remove voices usually... as it has a vocal remover. Though... this doesn't seem to do the best in itself. More so if any of the songs within the series are sung... thankfully, we seem to have all the vocals for this anime so far.

I like editing stuff (like clipping out scenes where there's no music in the background anyways) via Cool Edit.

Also there's a program called Virtual Dub Mod that also extracts audio from video... and saves them mostly as .wav (which is as lossless as you can probably get considering).

I might have to try out this AoA and see what the differences between the two programs are.

Though audacity leaves a lot of the background noises... and other strange sounds. Which can make it very hard to hear the actual song. I know there's a better program for removing voices from audio out-takes... just no one seems to be sharing what the name of the program is. As I have seen it in work for a lot of those Unreleased albums now floating the net that were taken straight off the DVDs or video format they had available... and seem to have little to no background sound.

Wow, that would be more than great, I would appreciate. I've tried to do that myself (with WinDVD Creator) and failed. I'm not familiar with sound editing software programs...Didn't even know that removing the voice from a background song is possible :-D, so far thanks for the info and upload !

...sorry, it was a Nero 7 sound editor application, not Win DVD, my mistake, and I couldn't process the video in order to get an audio file (with voices and everything)

I'll certainly give it a try... but as I said Audacity isn't the best, and I don't have the actual DVDs or the Images of the DVDs (like .iso) to burn and than try to rip. Some DVDs offer Dual-Audio... which is nice.

But others offer Surround Sound, in which more than half the time the music is on it's own separate set of stereo tracks away from the background noise and the talking.

All I have is the .avi's... so I will do my best with them.

And no I never did get around to see how great the quality of the rips I've done so far are... I did them from .avi's so I'd have to try to remove the vocals myself... which could work. I just wish I knew a better program, as I believe Audacity turns everything to 128 CBR... when it could be better before the sounds are butchered out. Hmm... I wonder if it's possible to copy the stream and add it into Cool Edit and save there, that way the Stream's quality should remain high. Could work considering they are .wav's.

I never did get around to messing with them... oh and that above isn't the OST, I was hoping it was when I brought it... but it's just a very large Drama CD. Only track 1 had any notable music in it.

Note: please don't ask me to translate the tracks here... they are VERY Naughty things. ;p I mean... it is an anime meant for Adult viewers... so the Drama CD should only fit the same bill. Sexual parts... sexual acts... things like that... And there are still younger people who come to the forums... I think the picture of the too nude boys on the cover might scar them enough.

I agree, but as I said the actual models for the characters were all over 18... so it's not really child pornography. The artist(s) used their sense of imagination to make them younger... though I agree it is wrong on a multitude of levels.

There are groups of people who like this sort of thing. Perhaps more than we as human beings would really like to admit. Perhaps by making this piece they could have been hoping to drop the cases of child molestation... remember that Japan is more open minded about all sorts of things... things the US does normally consider wrong and typically ban. That's why it's hard to find certain Animes here or even get them uncut.

The music was good... the first episode wasn't too bad as the adult I would more easily believe to be sexually orientated... but I dislike that Chico seems to be much younger than Pico and that Pico takes advantage of that for Episode 2. Though I guess he would be scared for life if he had been sexually abused as he was in Episode 1. Episode 3 isn't any better... though Coco seems to be the older out of the three...

Yeah, I just know for whatever reason, Yaoi, Yuri, Hentai and even things like Shota (which is what this anime is) tend to get a lot of back door attention. Otherwise, no one would have animated the mangas in the first place. I'm not sure what the motives for even drawing such anime are or what they really hope to accomplish; but I know one thing for certain... I never plan to watch anymore Shota. xD

Well, I think Most of those Hentai Works are Aimless and there is a Special Term Named for this kind of Stories, I forgot the Name at the moment… Anyhow, The Stories are mostly has no base, no surrounding Characters… (Created Only For Just only one Purpose!!!)…if the story Like for example “Zetsuai 1989” Manga Which at least has a Decent Story Composition in Contary to Some Other dreadful Manga…Then, You can at least accept it…. But now they became Really crazy in creating those Manga Especially Between the dojinshi Group (同人誌)…. And thanks God that Most of those Manga are in Form of Ova or Special Movie (Not Series)…

Well this country does a pretty good job of trying to keep things like this anime from ever reaching the eyes of the public. As a matter of fact, I don't think you can even buy the DVDs for American formatted DVD players. So... the only way to see it would to be online... or buy a Japanese DVD player and pop the DVD in. (DVD players are formatted to read only certain coded DVDs via their area in question; unless one knows how they can bypass this, but it's not an easy task).

I am not saying anyone should go out watching this... perhaps this discussion will actually make people more aware; or even help them see why a lot of animes like this never get formatted for American style DVD players.

I dislike animes that don't have a story behind them... they aren't too interesting to watch. Or more morally incorrect.

But... if we were to talk about how anything effects a mind on a physiological level. We can even go as far as to say violence in movies, books, tv, etc. Can sometimes cause people to be more violent... or make it seem like the act of killing should be glorified like in games... which could in turn help create serial killers.

So one has to be objective when watching anything, even if it's based on a true story; and understand what is morally right and wrong. And also know when not to take things they see and make them real.

So in a sense... any type of media can be criticized and scorned. It's all a matter of the right audience and perhaps even parents keeping a closer eye on their children.

Does anyone have the My Pico PV Song Collection: I'm a boy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boku_no_Pico#Song_Collection) CD?

The problem with that is it's not a CD. It's a DVD... and you need a special player to play a DVD formatted for the Japanese region. So unless you know somewhere I can import a DVD player straight from Japan... than maybe. And even than I have no way of getting the music to my computer after that.

As it is now, it'll give an error if I tried to play a Japanese DVD. Much like it does if you try to put a BlueRay disc in... it simply wasn't formatted to read such things.

So... I have NO way of getting the music off that DVD even if I spent the 30 some dollars it costs to get it (not including import fees and tax).

Yeah these OVAs are unusual (I honestly had a difficult time thinking up a proper word).
Bottom line is, while money wise it'll come from all time perverts, graphically it's beautiful, although the plots for 2 where utter crap and #3 was even worse. (Bare in mind, #3 will screw with your mind, seriously HOW IS HALF THE STUFF DONE IN THAT OVA POSSIBLE?!?!?!?!?!)

You need to be really mature to watch them, and if I may recommend, watch the first OVA and completely skip #2 and #3 altogether.

Not that I am aware of. But browsing Gogle's website (the creator of this anime); I did learn of a second Drama Album: Pico to Chico no Iijiri Drama... it's spelt a little different, so I can't fully confirm if it's just a mistake on their part, or if there is a 2nd one.

Other than that... I have not found an OST yet....

And sadly I'm going to be broke for a long... long time. I need to start saving about $310 per month till Dec.... to pay for what Loans and Grants didn't cover of college....

So basically I will have NO money to speak of to buy the Character DVD... and try out my luck with the DVD codecs on my computer.

I don't know. I think Idiri means Idol Talk or nonsense. Merely as I can't find it's actual meaning.

I honestly couldn't say. I really don't know what kind of audience they were hoping for. But I think it's more about the fact that they are children and haven't yet discovered if they are gay or straight/bisexual (not that they even know what those terms mean in all likeliness). Most people have said it's natural for 'boys' to start playing with their body at around maybe 7 or 8; which is at tops the age of Chico and Pico, Coco might have been 13.

It was more about boys discovering sex and masturbation. It was yaoi in some sense... but I think the audience might have been more focused toward pedophiles. As that's a huge thing in Japan, older men liking incredibly young boys.

If I were to call it anything, it would likely be "Pico no Theme". But given they don't seem to be ever planning on releasing an OST, your guess is as good as mine as to a name for the track.

The thing about these type of animes is that they aren't saying the portrayal of Pico is of age; but the actors/actresses/models who they used as a base are of legal age.... it's a little twisted web they do. The drama CD talks about... private things. Like penis, vagina, breasts... and things like that. It's down right dirty. They are basically having a talk about dildo's, and sexual play things... it's over all very dirty.

- there exist region-free firmware for some drives
- there is a 5 zones changes limit but afaik, you can reset it if you update or overwrite the current firmware
