In dishonor of the upcoming anti-Holmes travesty prepared by Guy "Swept Away" Ritchie, here is a collection of 27 musical themes from real adaptations of the adventures of London's foremost consulting detective.

This includes several rarities, e.g. the title overture from the often forgotten 1981 Russian TV series, or the opening violin/orchestral theme from the excellent 1980 British/Polish series with Geoffrey Whitehead as Holmes.

The music has been contributed by the following Holmeses :D:

A Study in Terror
Dressed to Kill
Granada's Sherlock Holmes
Murder by Decree
Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson
Sherlock Holmes in New York
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson
The Hound of the Baskervilles
The Masks of Death
The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes
The Seven-Per-Cent Solution
They Might Be Giants
Universal Sherlock Holmes
Without a Clue
Young Sherlock Holmes and the Pyramid of Fear

Thank you very much for sharing these. I never got around to buying the Varese collection of themes and suites. I guess I was influenced by the very mixed reviews it seems to get. Of course, I'd love to have the original tracks or more fully realized reproductions. On the other hand, I heard most of these scores for the first time on a 3" mono television speaker.

I'm afraid I can offer no help whatsoever identifying the tune that you have posted. Good luck!
