I heard about the dbz one too. Its supposed to cut out a lot of the filler so its not as old school but it wont take 5 episodes to attack. lol

As for the new fma one its supposed to be strictly manga based with the manga ending.

I think people are just running out of ideas so theyre milking the old ones for all the money they can get cause hiring new people is too much toruble and takes time and money. Feh.

it's not really a dbz remake. it's just an edit of all the old episodes.

I dont get it. Are they like extra episodes, sequels, prequels? Because a remake to me suggests its the same story, just with different footage?

FMA? it's a reimagining of the series, i think

Actually its bases strictly on manga. And manga is WAAAYYY off from the old series ending so its intended different and to be seen how the artist sees it. not much else then that though. Production value is higher at least. :D

It says that it is suppose to follow the mange but the first episode had nothing to do with the manga. Perhaps it was a flashy way to start. it looks like it will follow the manga in the next episode.

Actually it might be because FMA veered away from the manga after episode 6 I believe. If they made it based on the manga now you'd be watching episode 1 all over again. It may be picking up where the anime spun off. Further investigation is required.

Its not a remake it is a new series that is sticking close to the manga this time. The first 1st episode was sort of like a filler so it didnt start exactly the same as the old series and introduced Isaac the Ice Alchemist who was in the manga and had something to do with the brothers going to lior I think cant remember and the 2nd episode told the history of the brothers. In other words how they tried to bring back their mother. That is told through flashbacks on their way to lior. And you cant say its gonna have the same ending as the manga cause the manga is still ongoing. The old series diverged near the middle when Greed kidnaps Alphonse. This series is keeping to the manga so far. Its really good. Im enjoying it more the old series.

Actually Isaac was not in the manga. Isaac was an original character created by Arakawa for the new series.

Looks like what Square Enix has been doing has finally caught on. A simple lesson in economics: remakes are a low risk way to boost profit margins. That's 90% of what Square has been doing for the past decade.

I think Nintendo out-milk Square.

I can tolerate a remake, like the ones done for DS and PSP and etc. They dont harm anyone. But spin offs, sequels and prequels annoy me.

Haha fun. i think its a matter of opinion and just willing to boost the economy really. theres a reason why japan has some of the top economy in the world right now. They have there fans or consumers and adding remakes to make the fans buy more only boosts them.

Ahhhhhh if only america was that productive lately. all we have is pixar and sega... no wait they even sold sega out. f*ck were screwed.

I don't think any of these companies are remaking products on the basis of "boosting the economy". It's based on self-sufficient survivalism. Personal profit.

They could care less if you have a home, as long as you buy their games/animes/mangas/spinoffs/coffee cups/characterthemeddildos.

FMA is my favorite anime!
I had no idea it veered from the manga, I just assumed it fallowed it.
This is really interesting =]

economy goes by country. if people arent putting money into the country (products, entertainent investments, food ect) then they lose power. the government doesnt care about feeding or housing ppl, just taking there money to get these necessities and placing it in 'other' investments. Not always personal gain. That's what i meant by the way. -shrugs-

Episode 6 releases sunday.

From what I heard, the reason why the anime is different than the manga was because the people doing the anime didn't want to wait for the manga to get done so they made up a different story for the series that was obviously different than the manga (like I said, it wasn't done yet and the anime didn't want to wait). I've never read the manga but I did like the series.

And because this is the first time I heard about this, I'm gonna see if I can start downloading some episodes :D.

^ they do that alot with anime thats based off manga. When the anime gets licensed they don't want to wait for the manga since it could take anywhere from a year or possibly more to really finish, they either do what they did with Fruits Basket and give it a semi ending but also leaving it open in case they one day add another season or do what they did with Naruto and Bleach and add filler episodes to fill in the gaps while waiting for more chapters come out

They did neither with FMA, they just went in a different direction, in this case it was because Arakawa requested it.
And also the manga is great, way better than the first anime, and I'm not just saying it because originals are (almost) always better than adaptations, it really is much better.

Just saw 1 episode, I wasnt really bothered about it really. I perfered the original series since there wasnt anything wrong with it, This isnt like Hellsing since they can get a remake to make up for what there 13 ep TV series failed to do.

FMA is an incredibly good anime but I think Brotherhood is abit of a hit & miss for me.

They say there is only going to be 13 episode which better not happen.

Who said that?
Brotherhood is going to be longer than that, as it follows the manga's plot, and the manga is still ongoing(but not for long, Arakawa said it would be around 100 chapters).

Well thats what a bunch of websites said. Hopefully it is not. I really hope it follows the manga all the way through. I was getting excited for the part when Ed goes inside Gluttony

If I remember correctly, Brotherhood is being made by Bones. And Bones series are 50 episodes (or something like that) long.
