This is a amusing little video I found that pretty much sums up the nuances of Castlevania quite well. Enjoy!

also known as the item crash ability and yes, with enough hearts you can spam almost any boss to death with it.

Damnit Belmont! How many hearts do you have!?

What in the hell is in this animal bullshit?

Seriously, I've always wondered.

OK, Maria Renard is part of a line of Vampire hunters that are a distant off-shoot of the Belmont Clan, similar to how the Morris family is distantly related to the Belmont Clan. Anyway, the Renard Clan has a history of keeping doves and other various birds as pets and/or attack animals. Maria though has a peculiar power of being able to call upon the 4 great celestial beasts of Japanese/Chinese folklore. Black turtle, White Tiger (in Maria's case cat unless she uses the cat's item crash), Red bird/Phoenix, and blue dragon (though in the game the dragon appears to be green). Though in Rondo of Blood and Dracula X chronicles she is 13, she is the powerhouse of the two playable characters in the same way Sypha was except Maria can double Jump and slide unlike her mush more clunkier female counterpart.

I don't get it. Is it funny because he says "fuck" a lot and then says "god damn it" seven times in a row?

Neg

Well that, and that he's riffing off the lovely problems in the intro to Symphony of the Night, and the series at large.

When you unlock Richter you can actually beat the game in like 5 minutes. I can't remember, can he use Hydro Storm then? I haven't done a playthrough since 2004.

I guess the thing is, this stuff was already funny before someone made a poor Youtube video to accentuate it. I thought that the fact that pot roast pops out of things Belmonts hit with their whips and they gobble it up was just a standard joke among people who played video games. It's like making yo momma jokes, only with a bad video that has the words on the screen when people swear.

That can be funny, too. Sure, it isn't creative or original, but it makes some of us laugh.

Well, the reason why I posted the video and found it amusing is that it points out certain nuances of Castlevania that we don't really think about, such as why there are pot roasts and money inside of all of those candles and why does Dracula have pot roast in Castlevania in the first place since he is a Vampire. It's a satire. I didn't really pay attention to the swearing tbh. Funny thing is, in Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, they do explain a bit on why there are weapons, food, and cash in Castlevania but a lot of people didn't play the game. so.

I get that it's satire and all that.

It's just that it's a satire of something that's already ridiculous.

Agreed. Carry on then. I have no qualms with people's opinions. I am but a messenger who is enjoying Killian's Irish Red right now. BTW Chewey, who's that picture in your avatar? Looks pretty snazzy.
