I played FFVIII for ahwhile but I still couldn't beat the final boss or the weapons. I played throughed the game with out having worry too much about Junctions but with bosses like Ultmecia and the WEAPONs , that is no longer a necessity in any more. Does anyone know of good strategies and Junctions that can use against those bosses? And even that in mind, can tell me of an easier way to get magic for said Junctions?

There's a million and one FAQ's out there. I would suggest reading a few.

Sounds like you have a problem with levels more than junctioning, I have the same problems in these games. I run through them and get stuck at the end b//c i haven't been leveling up.

For a quick hint...go to the islands of heaven and hell and junction 100 death to someone along with speed bonuses. You should fly up the levels in no time. There are also draw points for ultimas and stuff if i remember.

iirc, there's a nice ultima draw point at the Shumi Tribe Village,up in the north.

If u got lots of money(which I bet u have, since u are at Ultimecia)I recommend u go there and draw once in a while.
Oh and junction magic on the character as much as you can to get more.

Some of the best Magics to Junction are Meltdown, Triple, Flare, and Ultima. You can easily get Meltdown and Triple on the second disc, and a location for Ultima was listed above. If you are having trouble Drawing in battle, just Junction 100 Sleeps or 100 Stops to a character's Stat Atk.

Following up on virtualchan's post, have your GFs learn stat-boosting equips, like Str-Boost. It adds +1 for every level you gain. Meaning that if you were on Level 10 and went to Level 80 with the Str-Boost on the entire time, your Strength will be 70 more than it would've been if you didn't use it. Prety good imo.

For Ultima Weapon, Squall's Lionheart puts it down. Just cast Aura on him and switch characters with the Triangle button (right?). For Omega Weapon, you are better off refining some Cards, like the Laguna card, and casting Hero or Holy War on characters. You can also use Shockwave Pulsar, which if you hold down Select and press Square repeatedly, can be boosted to over 9999 damage. The same goes with the GF Eden, which can potentially do 65,535 in one hit.

One good way to get a bunch of ultimas is to steal curse spikes from tri-faces (which you can fight a lot of at the deep sea research center if you open the door the zell way; if you don't know what I'm talking about, then nevermind). But the most important thing is that you have full-life spells with your characters that don't have the revive ability. When they use Light Pillar, you have to be able to revive the character that just died instantly. It also won't hurt to junction 100 quakes to elemental defense against Ultima Weapon.

iirc, curse spikes refine into Pain magic, not Ultima.

Or just 'cheat' using Selphie's 'The End' magic on Omega.

I was going to say that lol. That's how I beat him once just to see if it worked.

Should have clarified. With Tool Rf, 100 curse spikes become 1 Dark Matter, which mods into 100 Ultimas with Forbidden Magic Rf.

I suppose that's one way to get Ultima. I usually just start drawing from the Shumi point as soon as it becomes available, then max out on them by drawing three hundred from Ultima Weapon, which also usually drops Ultima Stones, though it's not guaranteed.
