I'm at the snowy village place, though I have been to the icy cave place where you climb and press buttons to stay warm. I ran out of phoenix downs, tho... Does the snowy village place sell them and I'm just missing them somewhere? Or do I have to venture back even farther? And along with that-- is it worth it to backtrack to get some?

Help would be appreciated!

Thanks!:D

If you trained your characters good enough you can just kill your enemy's.When you reach the top you'll have to fight a boss...there is a safepoint before you have to fight him(so you can use a tent). So if you have trouble with surviving in battles you can go back if you want(you can buy phoenixdowns in the village).
In the ice area before you have to climb the mountain you can get Alexander(A summon).you have to find the hot springs(its water that its smoking...so you can reconize it)press X against it and then Cloud will dip his hands in it.After that you have to go to a small cave(in the cave is a person who is frozen)if you touch him he will fight you(he's weak...just kill it and you will recieve Alexander.:)

Yus, Alexander is yer best chance against Schitzo because that $#^&*$ &*^%@# of a boss has two heads, one fire element and one ice element so don't use ice attacks on the ice head and fire on the fire head, instead, use attacks that attack both at the same time. Also, use Life or Life2 if you don't have any Phoenix Downs. Make sure to get the Enemy Skill Trine from the Stilvas there, you may not get another chance in the game. If you haven't found a Ribbon in Gaia's Cliff yet, then in the first cave after the first cold part, go to the 2nd floor and head straight left. You'll go through a hidden wall and to a chest. Enjoy:D One last thing, you can make it up those parts without having to warm yourself up, because i tested it and you can get down to 24 degrees before freezing and returning to the cabin.

I used alot of Big Guard (enemy skill that does barrier, mbarrier and haste) and I slowed Schizo this way u can get more attacks into his 1 and gives u and advantge. Try to concentre ur physicals on 1 head (after u used ur non fire/ice summons) and make sure ur HP is maxed out when u kill 1 head cuz he has a final attack that does massive damage. If u can/have use ice/fire rings/armlets this way the battle will b easier.

While you're at it, make sure to get Magic Breath and not just Trine from the Stilvas. This one causes a lot of magic damage to your characters, so you may want to cast Big Guard first (if you have it) and then just manipulate the Stilva to do it. (You'll know the Stilva when you see it, it always appears alone and is a large mutated insect type monster.) Also, in the room with the save point is a monster called Blue Dragon. It has some tough attacks, but the most important thing is that you can steal a Dragon Armlet from it. These suckers have six materia slots and half ice/fire/lightning damage- very useful. Steal one for each your characters- there's a recovery spring right there! Your best bet for attacking these guys is just straight physical attacks, most magic won't work on them. Occasionally it'll cast the Enemy Skill Dragon Force on itself, but you can't get it right now. (I'm not sure if it's either because you can't manipulate it, or it doesn't show up on the list when you manipulate it, but either, you can't get it until much later in the game. Very annoying.
