So, I spent all day X-mas getting reacquainted with Final Fantasy IX, a game I never really appreciated as much as I think it deserves. Anyway, when I saw the disc 1 finale when Kuja entered the story, I realized that there's something very peculiar about his figure:

he has MAD birthin' hips!

That man has a waist-to-hip ratio that women would kill for! I know Square panders primarily to a Japanese fetishistic audience and therefore tends towards effeminate male characters, but holy-jeebus! Look at those hips! He looks like he could push triplets through his pelvis!

Just a thought.

Very androgenous looking isn't he. You'd be forgiven for thinking it was a female.

Kuja's a d00d?

Kuja's a d00d?

Yes he is.

But he was intended to be very androgynous.

Regarding the hips... Well, I have wide hips, too. Not that feminine, but still ^^"

...androgynous.

Has a 'y'? My bad for using an 'e'!

I have a peculiar fetish for hips on chicks. I would probably dig Kuja's too as judging by the picture he doesn't have a penis so could get away with thinking it was definately a girl.

I wonder what his voice would sound like? I'd imagine somewhat similar to Seymour in FFX. O:

Wakka Wakka is a manly man.

Sephiroth wasn't manly, either.

Answer: Kuja was a bit stout around the mid-section as a young clone, and as such, his hips grew to support the weight. You can tell he works out a lot by his flowing blond hair and back freckles.

I'd settle for "not irritating" given the recent trends. Tidus and Vaan made me root for the bad guys.

A bit effeminate weren't they.

Auron was a proper bloke though! And Barrett and Cid in FF7 too.

I could do that if I dyed my hair white.

what..its true..there's messed up trampy girls running around and they look just like whatever I was referring to...a previous post it looks like..then I was just branching off into some IX revelling by describing it's card number layout..like 2M04 or 0P11..that's it's strength..i actually messed up trying to put numbers and arrows together, that's tetra master..IX's cards just have that strength formula and then arrows to direct it.

what i meant by asking why she said it was weird because it's discouraging to my current living situation..:P.

No you misunderstand, I mean you think that sentence makes sense. While it... doesn't.

well then you don't make sense leaving a fellow shriner/(humbling_synonym_for_novice/follower) to the gallows and gutters of life to degenerate into a speech impeded fool.

Me too.

I like it. It makes him very unique. For players who didn't really enjoy him as a character however, its an easy target.

The hips make him even more hilarious than his poetic musings on villainy. all I can think about when I look at that picture is that guy has some serious humps and I guess you just have to take his word for it that he's not a chick.

Very late to the party but I was among those who need to be forgiven for thinking Kuja was a female when I first saw him. When I figured it out I was still like O.o....no way!

Maybe I was psychic back then.

My first impression of Kuja was that he was female. There's nothing about him to suggest that he isn't. I can't tell you how many times in animes/Final Fantasies I've been blown away by the fact that I'm seeing a character who looks female, only to find out that it's a guy. For instance in the DS remake of FFIII, I thought for certain Luneth was female. I mean come on; that's a guy?! Japanese character designs have a way of being quite deceptive like that.

Also, 'tsukiyochan', welcome to FFShrine.
