I've been looking around for the original version of Gauntlet music, but have only turned up numerous MIDI tracks. Are there any MP3 versions of the NES rip available? (At the very least, Title or Theme A.) Thanks in advance.

Don't look for NES MIDI music...look for NES Music Rips (known as NSF).

1. Download Winamp: http://WinAmp.com

2. Download NotSoFatso (best NSF Emulator): http://disch.zophar.net/notsofatso.php

3. Download Gauntlet NSF: http://www.zophar.net/music/nsf/gauntlet.html

If you would like to make WAV files from these, simply press Ctrl+P in Winamp and go to "Output Disk Writer" you should be able to figure it out.

Thanks, man! I'll give it a go. As for NSF files, are there any other good archives you can recommend? I'm searching for the music to Spy Vs. Spy and Pipe Dream in particular. Sadly, I can't find the NSF for either.

Edit: However, I did find a SPC download for Pipe Dream. I'm guessing that's the SNES format for music files? Does the ripping process work the same way? www.zophar.net/music/spc/pipe-dream.html

Just as a sticky for myself: A loop of Pipe Dream music already in MP3 format. http://www.angelfire.com/geek/Sith512/download/NES_-_PipeDreamLoop.mp3

Wow, I actually found them! (Spy Vs. Spy was a real toughie.) Thanks again, GameGuy. If this little project goes through, I'll have three new game OSTs available for download. Here goes nothing...

I'm glad you found them, and glad I could help. If you have Q's about converting LMK.

The only problem you may have is splitting up the tracks as Winamp will dump the whole NSF, unless there's a setting I don't know about? You'll have 1 giant >WAV file. If you have an editor such as Adobe Audtion you can use that, if not you probably want a free and light app...may want to ask around the forums or do some searching but I am sure I have seen basic wav splitters.
