A little goodie for y'all to bridge the wait.

I just replayed the first three acts and recorded the music and cinematic audio via WaveRec. Since most of the cues were bleeding into each other anyway I thought it would be better (aka easier.....cause I'm lazy) to keep them that way. I eliminated the silent passages and tried to mix the cues as best as I could. The result is an Suite/AudioBook hybrid. Its not the best quality but it will do until we get an proper rip.
Btw, I was really surprised how little music there was during the Croft Manor level. On the other hand......its a very brief level.

Small update. I realized the last Thailand cue (which is one of the most beautiful of the whole game of course) was cut short in my first run. Thats because the scene in the game involves Lara in the water without her scuba diving gear, the moment you reach the surface the cutscene kicks in...grrrr. I was able to record the whole cue now but the transition to the following cutscene is still blood awful. I upload the updated version as I write this. Stay tuned.

I just wish I could find a way to tone down the bass. It spikes way too often.
And the volume changes from cue to cue annoy me too.

There is PC version of TR Underworld (which I don't have).

In Legend and Anniversary it was really easy to rip the music with the music ripper tool that extracted the Eidos/Crystal Dynamics format. Maybe someone who has the PC version could rip the audio files much more easily that way :)

24 minutes. Sorry, my ripping software estimated a faulty lenght.

Okay everyone. I'm finished with the last 3 parts. Small annoying problem though, as the last 3 levels are so tedious long a lot of the music is just loops. Since some of the tracks get varied by small music pieces when you collect a stone, pull a switch etc. it was pretty tedious to cut everything together. After hours of editing I gave up and just pieced together all the cues that were in my recorded files. Thats why the last packages are all about 45 to 50 minutes long. Its still a nice listen although annoyingly repetetive. But I guess its all I can do for now.

If you guys have special seperate cue requests I would record them.

Afraid this isn't going to work. The PC version is just too hard to rip. We're going to have to wait until they come up with a tool to unpack the TRU bigfiles. I'm abandoning the PC rip, stick with Mino_Dan's for now, it's great, and I'm gonna wait until the PS2 version comes out in January and rip that.

Act 4 part one and two and Act 6 part one and two sound identical to me, are they different with minor changes between them that I didn't notice or did you accidentally upload the same file twice?

I just checked the Rar Archives. Act 4 is Southern Mexico and Act 6 is the Arctic Sea. Are you sure its the same track?

Southern Mexico should be 50:51 minutes and Arctic Sea 49:54.

Can someone check if they have the same problem?

I'm not sure I understand the question, guess I'm having a blonde moment right now.

I had to split both acts via WinRar cause Mediafire allows only 100 mb per file. Both acts were about the same length and mb size. Thats why the split archives are pretty much identical in size.

Yeah they're different just by looking at the size - part 1 on both is about 95 megs while part 2 on both is about 20. And the sizes aren't the same for any of them - 19 and 17 megs for part 2. Should be fine...

Its a shame we can't rip the music from the big files. I'm still hoping for Eidos to just release it on Itunes. People would definatly buy it.

That's definitely right, they made tools for Legend and Anniversary soon after they were released, for Legend they even made a music extractor. All we really need right now is a bigfile reader, and the only one available only works for Trl and Tra.

Anyhow, it's very hard to rip it until then. And it is likely that they will release the OST on tombraiderchronicles. They usually boast on how they are the only site that has the music of the games. They had the music quite soon on the earlier games, maybe on this game they'll have it by Christmas...I dunno.

Nope, there's a tool out already but I can't obtain the game at the moment. Anyways someone's already ripped the game and the ost's on tombraiderchronicles.com. Maybe it's in there.
