Howdy, I seem to be the first to have managed it somehow!

Here is the complete SOUNDTRACK to Nuts & Bolts [in other words, without the 3 second blips and beeps that can clutter a proper OST up], 2 hours in length to be precise. All tagged and artwork created by moi.

VERSION TWO OF SOUNDTRACK COMING SOON, ROUGHLY AN HOUR LONGER IN LENGTH

Enjoy!

No seriously though, you're welcome! :)

That's a pretty bad rip. The quality is fine but the short tracks aren't looped twice (that is the tradition of game rips) and they have absolutely no fadeout whatsoever, they just stop like the band marched into a brick wall.

This guy ripped every song in the game, took his own time to provide for us (which is awesome by the way, I love this soundtrack) the last thing I care about personally is a full-lengthed short track faded out.

Anyway, just wanted to give you my thank you for this beautiful music. :]

He provided also for himself, and probably had fun doing it. I don't see how you could excuse bad quality to that. I'm just saying that, going through all that trouble ripping, why not do it properly? It takes like, what, 5 seconds to add a fade-out? Now that we've been given mp3-encoded tracks we can't do it ourselves since the loss of quality from re-encoding would be unforgivable. I appreciate it but all the effort in the world will have gone to waste if I can't enjoy the damn thing. And I gotta tell you, the last thing I want is jamming to a cool track and have is suddenly, arbitrarily just STOP in the middle of it.

If you can't tell "hate" from constructive criticism then by all means ignore me. But if you wish to improve as a ripper, please, consider my complaints.

The quality is still good and I can instruct my playback software to fade it out dynamically. But just because one can work around it does not mean one should not aim for perfecting it.

I realised about the fade out once it was half uploaded, and am currently on my parent's naff internet... I can quite easily come tuesday night upload a faded version if people don't have software to do it by then for themselves anyway.

Besides the points they cut are the looping points the disc use, so at least it's easier for people to make loops for as long as they desire.

AND, my first rip on this site... BUT, I take criticism don't worry lol.
Just glad it's being enjoyed. :)

And regarding the loops etc, the upload for this internet connection was bad about without doubling it. Haha!

...re-encoding would be unforgivable.

A little mellow-dramatic no? But I'm sure we can come to some form of conclusion in the next few days!

Do worry about it, you did a grand job! From what i can tell its not easy ripping 360 game music?

XZero
11-16-2008, 10:31 PM
After listening to the whole thing, I really enjoyed the music from the game. I had a question though (I only played the demo, and couldn't hear the music that well from it). Are there any major tracks missing from this rip? For instance, in the last two games, each world had its own 'overworld' theme, an underwater variation, and area variations. Does Nuts and Bolts have that, or was it removed in favor of the orchestra approach (I imagine that the variations are something best obtained through midi).

littlesmegger
11-17-2008, 03:09 AM
To be fair N&B has very few underwater sections. It's mostly night & day, with some challenge themes thrown in for the jiggy races etc.

The few underwater tracks there are, aren't obtainable that way. But once back at Uni and not at Home in 2 days, I'm gonna hook my Mac up to the HD telly and rip the underwater stuff via line in. Better than nothing, so I'll add it onto here as an addon pack once done hehe. :)

Do worry about it, you did a grand job! From what i can tell its not easy ripping 360 game music?

To be fair it isn't the tracks they're complaining about, it's how I've not messed with them afterwards and looped/faded/etc... but no it's quite a long process to be fair. Not one I like to do that often, but I felt Banjo deserved it after all this time away!

Just so you know, Soundtrack 2.0 is on it's way... underwater themes are yet to be ripped [done in the next 48hrs] but as you can see below, tracks are longer and looped, plus extra and replaced tracks are also now there...

....yes including the Jinjo Challenge theme!!! Haha!

Soundtracks nearing the 3 hour mark with the adjustments, so I'm sure with underwater tracks it'll easily reach that target.
Expect a 350MB-ish download when complete.

Right, update on "version 2.0" as we're subnaming it now.

Only just got back to the world of decent internet, aka my Uni studio, so haven't had chance to rip the underwater tracks as of yet [we have lives outside of computers, or I hope we do at least!] but I'm planning on getting it done over the next 24 hours, added to the listings above in appropriate places, and uploading as before.

There, hope that's explained a few gaps in communication. Simple answer, snow stops transport, so snow stopped me getting back to Uni. Fun I know...

EDIT: And that's my 100th post! Damn was keeping that for version 2 instead of explaining... ah well...

Waiting for version 2.0. Thanks a lot for doing this, by the way. I think it's a bit rude to rag on someone for the lack of desirables in a soundtrack, despite the effort they put forth (SUGGESTIONS are a better substitute), but I didn't download the original for that reason as well. Single loops would have probably made me sad. ;)

But again, I thank you so so much for creating an improved version of the soundtrack. That's really fantastic of you! I'll keep watching this post.

They suffer from the same problems though. No looping, awkward cut-off.

That's cause that's the way it was inserted to the game. So really, the maker of this topic really just stole the soundtrack off of RareWitch Project.

Fine, I did so too when I placed the tracks after the Demo's released. But at least I notified them I did it >.<

And what bothers me most, which is an error from the rippers behalf, is that this music isn't ripped in 320kbps.
Normally that wouldn't make much of a difference, but when I hear the 320 kbps Demo rips, they sure as hell sound better :)

And suddenly, out of nowhere, an "official" OST with 28 tracks has been released by Sumthing Digital on both their digital download store and on iTunes.

https://www.sumthingdigital.com/AlbumDetails.aspx?albumid=4311

http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=321277588&s=143441

Pales in comparison to the scope of the rip, but it's nice to have "official" versions of these songs... especially the TV-theme-parody level intro compositions sans static.

It's at the sumthing digital page though in the post prior to yours, that's globally available. So you can still get it :)

Not that it's got anything new other than static free intros... somewhat disappointing really. Fancy not even putting the intro or credits on the flippin' thing, let alone cut sequences.
