This rip is rather like the full X360 iso rip only with a few more tracks. It's in MP3 too. Good quality. 320 kb/s.

I'll be leaving the cinematics and SFX and dialogue in ogg format - i don't want to mess any cinematic tracks up - they sound great in surround sound ogg but sound slowed down and like crap in mp3.

All right, I've obtained all the audio files, now I need to convert and archive 'em and upload!

Edit: And the first song I ripped happened to be a 320 kb/s quality version of One More Soul to the Call. :D :D

Yes! Finally a high quality version to this song. Much appreciated. Is it just me or does SH:H's music seems less.... layered than previous SH music by Yamaoka? Good music still though.

Yes it's definitely awesome still, probably just that this is the rip, not the official OST, the OST will definitely PWN.

Slow? I didn't notice anything. Was it really really slowed down, or just a little?

Or should I ask, which tracks were slowed down? All of them?

byblo
11-16-2008, 05:45 PM
Sorry I have already deleted the files.
I guess remember by comparing the xbox rip (Thread 60418), was something like half the files.

pietastesgood
11-16-2008, 05:56 PM
So half the files were slowed down a bit. Alright, well when I listened to it, the songs seemed fine...maybe it's meant to be a little slow. Well, I can upload one song at a time...maybe that would help. I dunno.

byblo
11-16-2008, 06:04 PM
No. They are completely slow and wrong (the ripping or conversion process messed something?).
I recommend to compare with the xbox rip before anything else.

pietastesgood
11-16-2008, 06:18 PM
Ok. Just a suggestion to those that still have the files, if you use Windows Media Player then hit alt while playing the slowed down song, select play, select play speed, select fast. Maybe that'll help.

The original xbox link is down. I'll compare with the Mp3 version.

Edit: Never mind. I got it. I'll be posting a quickened release soon.

I'll upload one song first and tell me if it sounds better. I'll post the slowed down version and the quickened up version. Personally One More Soul to the Call sounds kinda screwed up quickened...I think that one didn't have speed problems, because it sounds uber quick...the others sound normal.

One example I found from my winamp log:
The TRACK53.mp3 from your pc rip have a length of 7:02, when on the xbox rip its 2:20

pietastesgood
11-16-2008, 10:09 PM
Maybe mine's just a long version. Track 53 was mostly ambient...I'll look into it.

Edit: I don't think this is right. Track 53 on the xbox rip is different than mine. On the xbox it has a different beat and piano. On mine, it's completely ambient with a few and infrequent beats. I don't think it's the same...

Thanks for the download!

The only thing that gives me trouble with them is most of the tracks give off a very high pitch squeel....its making my head hurt. >_<

Do you know how I could fix this?

pietastesgood
11-16-2008, 11:53 PM
I'm not sure. It may be the tracks themselves. I'll take a look at it. Do you have problems with slowed down tracks?

dragonphoenix
11-17-2008, 12:36 AM
Nope everything else works just fine. Btw...is the music for the bogeyman ending in the rip?

...

@pietastesgood: OK, Here is your own TRACK02 with the speed x2 (9 seconds sample): http://rapidshare.com/files/164487997/TRACK02_speed_x2.mp3.html

pietastesgood
11-17-2008, 02:17 AM
Ok, I'm reripping it at faster speed.

pietastesgood
11-17-2008, 02:39 AM
All right, before I get any further in ripping, I'd like to ask everyone if this speed sounds better:

It's track 2 faster.

http://www.zshare.net/audio/51425509a5ae4877/

When someone gives feedback I'll continue ripping. If it's too fast or too slow, tell me! It'll affect the quality of the rip.

Sanda
11-17-2008, 03:50 AM
With the first batch you uploaded, One More Soul to the Call was fine, the remix of 3 and 8 were fine and the lullaby was fine. The rest (ambiance included) were WAY slowed down. I know nothing about these sort of problems so sorry I can't be more helpful.

That most recent thing is still messed up but it is definitely going faster, not as much in slow motion if that makes sense?

pietastesgood
11-17-2008, 03:55 AM
All right. Thank you Sanda for your feedback. I'll post another link later of an even more sped up version. iono in like an hour or so cuz I have to go...

Update:

Track 2: Sped up 250% - http://www.zshare.net/audio/51429021e9f68323/

Tell me if I need to speed up or slow down.

pietastesgood
11-17-2008, 03:56 AM
@dragonphoenix, I'm not sure about that. The songs I got were all anonymous...

Sanda
11-17-2008, 05:22 AM
Ok I can now tell which song it is (only because I've heard it enough) It is the piano interlude that plays during the new game load game thing-y.

It is still really really slow though. IDK why but that is very odd :<
Again, sorry I can't be more helpful ><

pietastesgood
11-17-2008, 05:41 AM
Even faster????????

All right then.

Sorry guys for the long wait. Sorry byblo for taking on too much I'll finish my current rips before starting new ones.
I haven't been idle - I've tested out many speeds and added some effects.

http://www.zshare.net/audio/516206661ebbe96f/ Track 2 300% faster

http://www.zshare.net/audio/51620824da4d1161/ Track 2 350% faster

http://www.zshare.net/audio/516208903d640b21/ Track 2 400% faster

http://www.zshare.net/audio/51621078b7e6c663/ Track 3 300% faster

http://www.zshare.net/audio/5162122180ad7d32/ Track 3 400%

http://www.zshare.net/audio/51621207711fc077/ Track 3 500% plus noise smoothener

PLEASE COMMENT! Tell me the best speed, and if the noise smoothener makes things sound a bit better.

When I have a final speed, I will finish changing the speed of all tracks.

On second thought - Ugh why didn't i think of this earlier. I can just record the original oggs with Audacity and export them as mp3. I am so stupid. -.- Then we will have no problem with speed. Sound good?

Sounds like a good plan. I took a listen of your first set of mp3 files and for some reason, more than half of them did not even play at all. Just keep hearing a weird humming sound.

pietastesgood
11-21-2008, 05:23 AM
Oh, I think that you need to turn up the volume. For some reason my converter prob screws up with surround sound and makes all kinds of flaws - speed and the sound are some of them. I'm recording this very moment.

I'll prob upload tomorrow or the weekend. I have 2 tests tomorrow.

Edit: Ughhhhhhh. NOOOO..... Some of the oggs are as slow as the mp3s.... TRACK2 is still 8 mins. Someone please listen to the sped up tracks I uploaded! I need to know what speed is good!!!!

the oggs are original game music directly taken out of the game! so the speed is just fine.

I know, the thing is everyone's complaining how the speed's all screwed up. I know the speed's from the game, unfortunately. I just need to figure out how to make the speed more satisfying.

just give them (those who are complaining about the speed) my link with the original game music. I don't mess around with yamaoka's masterpieces.

The OGGs are whatever, the thing is that I was whining because I want them in high MP3 quality to put on my iPod ;_; (and im technologically retarded and don't know how anything works/don't have converting software)

Also I'm listening to the fastest 500% thing at the moment and it is still all weird.
What was different from ONEMORESOULTOTHECALL that you did in the original rip as compared to the others in that original rip? I think that is where the problem might be? IDK...but that one song was perfect and in high quality. Your version is the first time I'm seeing that particular song in high MP3 quality. Theme of Elle and Sacred line are fine in other people's mp3 rips but their one more soul to the call is low quality. Even lower is Alex's Theme (aka Soldier's Orders) and with that one on your initial rip, I think it was one where there wasn't any music at all?

Thank you so much for tinkering with this all; I hate computers ;_;...

byblo
11-21-2008, 09:28 PM
I assume the problem is due to your tool which cannot handle correctly the 5.1 channels.

You can convert all tracks with the last winamp without any problem (Format converter). All track will be converted automatically to wav pcm 44100hz Stereo or to mp3 (though, i recommend to convert them to wav then use LAME with some cool parameters like: -b 32 -m j -h -p -V 2 -F -q 1 --priority 2 or -b 32 -m j -h -p -V 2 -F -q 2 --priority 2)

pietastesgood
11-22-2008, 12:29 AM
Yeah, all right. I'll try that. I'm still not sure what speed to use...I'll figure something out i guess.

byblo
11-22-2008, 12:35 AM
What do you mean by "speed" ?

pietastesgood
11-22-2008, 03:01 AM
Like 200% faster 300% faster, etc. The speed of the songs in the links I posted...

@sanda - I did the exact same thing for every song...according to Jay T it seems that it's the same speed as in the game. I think so too. Maybe it is something wrong with the game itself. Or maybe it was some recording error at Konami and they made it slow anyway. Sh5 for pc got held back, probably had a bunch of bugs, and they didnt have time to fix this music prob since they didnt want to have to push the release date even farther back...iono this is just a guess. Anyhow I'll try to post a release with a better speed.

pietastesgood
11-23-2008, 06:21 AM
Update: All right - I'm almost done changing the speed - warning: in the Track 20's there are a few vocal tracks - I don't know who does them...sounds kinda like Joe Romersa but I can't tell - the voices are really screwed up - all I can tell is that it's a guy with a deep voice. So maybe it is him and maybe it's not. And I can't fix them. These are the only ones that are still slow - I'm not touching them. I'll probably upload tomorrow or something.

I'm especially interested in the Ambient Tracks. But since the OGG to Mp3 conversion is almost impossible to listen to, like the others also figured out here. Since i only play SHH on PS3, is it possible for you to upload the untouched OGG's somehow for Music and Ambience? Maybe i can find proper Program to reencode these with better results. But nonetheless much appreciation for your hard work.

I don't know why, but the oggs were slowed down as well.

I don't know why, but the oggs were slowed down as well.

That's strange. But the OGG's for Cinematics, Voices and SFX that you uploaded are at normal speed, too. Or is it because it's 5.1 encoded. Did you try different players (like Winamp, Media Player Classic etc.)?

EDIT : Can you possibilly upload one OGG that was Slowed Down, because i have an Idea what might be the Problem. This is based on this site here : http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-21347.html
