The only thing I have seen of Tenchi Muyo here where I live is the Tenchi Universe series..

Aw aww.... I'm a huge fan of Tenchi Muyo!, and found this thread a while ago but didn't download anything from it, I was just impressed that so many pretty rare albums were being up'ed and all was good!
But now they're mostly down again because people weren't saying thank you enough?! There's 4 pages of people saying thank you here, how much gratitude do you need to receive in order to share things with others?!? PERSONALLY, I find it a little disappointing, anyone viewing this thread oughta be a fan of the show & it's music, appreciation is implied.

I've been collecting Tenchi music slowly for years, in the final stages of compiling all the BGM I have from OVA's 1+2 in chronological order of appearance in the show, sitting at 63 tracks so far, no vocal tracks. Hopefully I'll upload it here on Tuesday (24th), if you download it & give it a listen that's all the recognition I need!! If there's anything you can ADD to it, that'd be incredible.

(the soft piano music that plays during the scenes in Washu's lab in episode "Hello Baby" would be my holy grail, if anyone out there has it!).

I've collected a lot of the ost's over time already (Tenchi Muyo!, Shin Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi Universe, GXP + movies), not too worried about the vocal albums, more the music that evokes the scenes from the anime! (Because yup, there's a LOT of those vocal / drama albums!)
Only things I'm after is BGM that doesn't appear on the original soundtracks, that might appear on obscure albums or compilations out there. Thanks for the offer to re-up albums, but no need to do it for my benefit otherwise! :D

To the best of my knowledge one does NOT exist.

But... Vic has gone through the trouble of fully releasing a few of their English dub-overs unto a CD before... so there's always a small chance it could happen again... rather small considering the last time they released anything full to was El Hazard.

Though they did do a rather nice number of the Tenchi Muyo! Songs... So perhaps wait and see? I rather wish they'd advertise any new release of English dubbed music that they have done. As the one I know about... was hard to find in existence.

I've included a few soundbyte snippets from the English vocal cast, again in the correct order of appearance! (Personally, I think Matt Miller, Petrea Burchard et al did an amazing job on the dub - but if you don't like the show snippets then you can, y'know, delete them to just leave the music!).

Hi Mewsie. I came way too late to snag the 5 Disc Chamber Set that Cindy had up a while ago. I do have it, but it's like damaged or has discs missing. So, I've been trying to get a hold of the whole set again. I'm wondering if you managed to download it??? If so, could you re-upload it please? Depends on the series.
Universe seemed to sway towards Ryoko...she did almost die to help him and all. That's the kind of devotion you rarely see.
Muyo could swing either way. That series was batshit crazy most of the time anyways.
Tokyo seemed to have a slant towards Ryoko, what with the date and all the little sub-plots revolving around her.

there's always the 3rd and final movie, he also seems to slant more toward Ryoko; due to that she had to fight to get him out of the false world. Ayeka helped... but he seemed to appreciate Ryoko more.

Plus who on earth is that girl in the Ryo-Ohki OVA? the one they have him save, than later show him kissing?!? When he was about the burst out of his body and ascend to the god-plain or whatever it was. I so need to watch it again. xD

o0; I'm not sure the Women from the episode I was thinking of is the same as the one you were thinking of. xD I do know they sent someone to try to be his fiancee; as well as he meets his long lost sister who mysteriously looks identical to his mother... or so they say. That little girl crying on the shore was the female half of Kagato. Yes, the same pirate Kagato who had an obsession with a familiar gloomy song played on an organ and had a massive (and overcompensating) battleship named Souja...and whose hands had no physical connection to his body (magic gloves?).
Kagato was a hermaphrodite, 'till he split himself out of spite for the female gender. Note that on that shore the girl cries out towards the sky "I'm a Kagato too!".

That was basically the fall of the OVA series. They should've just went and followed the manga more indepth instead of makin shit more complicated.

Tenchi Muyo! was the very first anime that I knew was anime and that I watched loyally. It was just so weird and different ya know? Spaceships, explosions, ligthsaber fights, shootouts, only one guy with half a dozen girls all lusting after him, and then there�s all the Ryoko breast bouncing. On one hand it�s a boys cartoon but it also had many plot points and themes that would only be seen in a girls show along with the slower quieter parts and super cute moments.

I have to say one of the things that make it better then a lot of other harem shows it the fact that each girl is there own character, they don�t exist solely for lusting after Tenchi.
If Tenchi picked one halfway through a storyline the other girls would still have other things to add to the story, or if there was only one girl to begin with the relationship between her & Tenchi would be just as much fun as the harem setup.

Right now I�m re-watching the first Tenchi series; it being ended on a cliffhanger during its original run always bugged me but I figured it was because they didn�t have the rights to air it or the episodes weren�t dubbed yet. Was pretty surprised to find that the story line hadn�t been finished until around 2003.


Currently I�m assembling a Toonami Music Archive,
I�ve got a lot of the content from Final Fantasy Shrine that I re-uploaded myself but it�s usually things like covers to albums that I already had, I was missing a few tracks from an album, or I had the entire album but the tracks were out of order and unnamed so I�d re-download the sorted albums.
I want to ad a Tenchi Section but I have no Tenchi at all and so far this is the only place I can find any of it.

So I�m wondering, would it be alright to re-upload then myself? I�d even let you use my links if any of yours expired so you wouldn�t have to keep re-doing them or would you rather I just post links to your downloads?

Well I don't know if Toonami redid the BGM music, or if they only dubbed the actual vocal songs; most of which are available on the "Meet the Tenchi Muyo!" CD released for the US. There was however maybe a few that didn't make the cut for the CD, like "Photon, Proton, Synchrotron" and "Magical Door".

Oh, or the two song for the Tenchi Muyo! GXP one, I have yet to move them... but they are somewhere... I think they did make the cut for the GXP OST though... so it wasn't so bad.

So all I have for those four are very short versions, or rips from the DVDs. So yes, it would be nice if you could upload whatever you have; perhaps you have something I don't yet. xD I never said I had everything.

Could someone post a lossless rip of "Boku wa Motto PAIONIA (Karaoke)"? The only version I'm able to find is a 128 kbps one (the same one as in this thread) and it is slightly faster than the vocalized version for some reason.

Lining it up with the vocalized version will have the two versions go more and more out of synch as time wears on. I'm trying to time it for karaoke and it's so much easier to time the vocalized version and then just switch it out for the karaoke version. I've tried lining it up with different rips of the vocalized version, including one from the very same rip. I sure hope it's not an inherently glitch with the original master.

Side-request, but not as crucial: A lossless rip of "I am a Pioneer".

Edit: It appears Pioneer were jackasses. The English Version, the Japanese Version and the Karaoke Version all have varying playing speeds! And it's like they play a constant speed, so simply speeding one up will align it perfectly with the others, noooo. Each go randomly off-synch from the others from time to time and none of the three can align up perfectly with either of the other two!

Either I have some really weird rips or Pioneer randomly purposefully made the different versions of the song this way to, uh, screw with people who wish to time them for karaoke or something.

This led me to download the GXP soundtrack and re-acquire all the old Tenchi soundtracks I had (a large amount of rare gems that were lost when my hard drive died). Now I'm on a mission. I will try to hunt down any and all Tenchi related music. If I find good stuff then I will be sure to share it here.

I'm going to approach this delicately. It seems that this site (http://www.verycd.com/groups/KOF/287213.topic) is offering the third Ongaka Hen, but through the bittorrent program Easy Mule. Quite a huge set of artwork if they're looking to update their excising images of the album covers.

the correct name is E-Mule, and just because they list it doesn't mean anyone's hosting it. It is indeed like a torrent, when people stop hosting the torrent it dies.
E-Mule is usually more of a pain too... lots of false leads, broken archives, and if by some miracle the host of the file is there... it'll be weeks to months before it downloads (if you're lucky).

You can try if you want, I got a few off that list already from E-Mule, the rest just died on me... so I gave up. They are all in .Cue format, so you'll have to burn it to a CD/DVD and than rip it for any other format.

Now I'm on a mission. I will try to hunt down any and all Tenchi related music. If I find good stuff then I will be sure to share it here.

All 50 tracks are culled from various discs and sources, arranged in chronological order of when they first appear in the first 6 episodes. I've included a few soundbyte snippets from the English vocal cast, again in the correct order of appearance! (Personally, I think Matt Miller, Petrea Burchard et al did an amazing job on the dub - but if you don't like the show snippets then you can, y'know, delete them to just leave the music!).

The file-name format is episode_number~track_number - track_title


Maybe you want to avoid fan-compilations(?), but I'm pretty certain it's the most comprehensive & accessible source of OAV 1 background music out there!

Also just realised, after all this time, that I never uploaded my OAV 2 compilation; I'll try uploading it tmrw.

If you happen to find the soft piano background music that plays in Washu's lab scenes in episode "Hello Baby", PLEASE let me know!! It's become my elusive Holy Grail.

I'm looking for a very specific track, the music that plays in Tenchi Muyo! when Tenchi first encounters Ryoko in the cave as well as when she attacks him at the school. I don't know if the track was used for those scenes specifically or was just general background music. Anybody have the name of the track and if so, a download link? Any help would be much appreciated.

@.@; Sadly since they are used, they'd be close to $40-50 though it says 1 Yen. (explains: the album is 1 Yen, plus tax (whatever it is in Japan); which is probably like 3 Yen or close, than you have about 500 Y local shipping, a 500-2000 Y middle-man fee, and another 1400-1600 Yen for shipping it back to the states). Sadly most used albums don't ship state wise.... so this is the only way I know of outside of actually going to Japan.

You are asking if I need it? Do you have it flac? I'd take 320 VBR 0... if it was truthful. I'm sick of people converting up bad quality and assuming it somehow makes it the same as something ripped good quality.
