Sounds like shit! Riepl's score was nice, not great but I liked it. Great main theme, enjoyable action tracks, boring ambient - but overall not bad listen. And orchestra sounded like an orchestra. Here It sounds fake (but I was expecting this, after all it's Jablonsky...). Maybe they were recording in sewers. Don't know. And choir? Wow! It sounds so out of place! "Yeah, bring me a choir! It makes things bigger! More... MAJESTIC!" - said Steve to his music writing machine... Another bad score in Jablonksy career? Maybe. But I will wait for whole thing. Maybe it will surprise me.

I think these tracks esp 'Hope runs deep' is way better than Riepls score. Now everything sounds more full and majestic with the added synth and the choir. Riepl his score sounded empty and disconnected. This score features the same material and themes, it's just much much better performed IMO.

Just a matter of taste I guess. But I'm almost certain when the game comes out that this OST will be much more succesfull and popular than the first one...

This is what opinion is all about. I liked these few tracks than the entire original score combined.

I think people who are saying this is fail really need to listen to the entire score rather than base your judgement on these peices alone.

I liked steve jablonsky's transformers so lets see what he will bring to the table, give him a chance.

I think the first score was a well orchestrated work; however, Steve has made exactly what he said he would make... and that is a deep emotional score. Even though the music is different, it still sounds like Gears and that is what is important. I only hope that Steve utilizes more of Riepl's themes. I can't wait to hear the score in full.

Yeah, Transformers (the movie) score is simply great. However, I don't know what happened with Tiberium Wars though. Either they told him to compose that crap or that was all he got at that point.

Anyway, this sounds really good for me. "Hope runs deep" has some Transformers sound in it.

Lol, so much debate, I'm gonna go with the "I like the tracks" crowd. Sounds like it's gonna be a epic game :)

Thanks man! I'm a big Gears of War fan, who likes the fist part's score and as for me I will wait for the whole score soundtrack in order to gain my own opinion about it. Total time of the preview is too small to have it already. Let's praise it will be worth listening. ;-)

I've been listening a lot of these three songs and I'm really pleased. I got really good feeling about the whole soundtrack. Seems to me that this soundtrack will be the soundtrack of the year for me.

badass. reipls score was the best overall but glad that jablonsky is adding to it with a new flare.

Just got around to hearing this. I was pretty decent fan of Kevin's Gears 1 score and sad to hear he wasnt picking up the reigns for round 2...anyway I like some of Jablonskys stuff (big fan of his Texas Chainsaw scores and I like most of Tiberium Wars)...but man this stuff sounds way too cookie cutter and feels out of place for Gears of War, for me anyway, who knows maybe itll tie the game together really well. Then again, it reminds me a lot of theTransformers score, and I liked 1/3rd of that score at best. Too each their own, but everyones throwing their 2 cents in, so my vote is still with the Gears 1 score, way better imo.
