If any, what's the most you've paid for a videogame soundtrack?

Fallout! It costs me about 200 bucks. It was bundled with the Fallout 2 game. When I inserted soundtrack CD into CD-Rom drive I realized that actually on this cd was written Fallout 1 game :)

FF7 Original OST. 70 Euro, that would be 95 Dollar in your money today. And 3 months of waiting for the shipment. But thats about 10 years ago, to be honest

110€ total for Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Limited Editions Soundtracks.

I also quote Kossage on the LOTR Complete Recordings price, adding 74€ for Return of the King.

Unfortunately, I spent $18 for a bootlegged copy of Potion: Relaxin' with Final Fantasy. But since that's not an OST, I guess the Lord of the Rings set cost me $45.

I paid $250 for a decent copy of the Super Metriod - Sound in Action album. Needless to say, it was one of the better purchases I've made as far as video game music is concerned.

Well, I've never heard the SPC rips before, so it's kind of hard for me to compare the two, but the lossless version of the Sound In Action album should at least be as crisp as the SPC files, if not slightly better. Do you know what bitrate the mp3 files were encoded in? I'll see if I can't locate the SPC rip later and compare the rip to my lossless version on my Cambridge Audio CD player.

WOW! I'd love to get this in lossless if you could provide Lackidaisical, I might also have something to trade that you might like. :)

Um, just out of curiousity, how did you rip your lossless version of the CD? With EAC (proper settings) or another program, and what's the lossless format? Just wondering.

I haven't bought it yet, but the Kingdom Hearts 9 Disc Ultimate Set or whatever it's called is around $90. It used to be $100, but the store has since lowered the price.

There are very few things that would be of huge interest to me on this forum? Anyway, I use EAC to rip my CDs, though I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say "proper settings". I changed the settings to what I thought would be in the best interest of the audio files. The end result are wav files, which I usually encode to flac files, though that comes after I create the mp3 files.

Well I mean usually with EAC you have the option to create a log file (contains info about the ripping process), create a CUE sheet (contains info about the start and end point of every track, useful for burning back to a CD) and your CD or CD/DVD-ROM's Offset Correction. These things are usually looked at by lossless enthusiasts, or audiophiles.

I was just wondering. :)

1. The log files have very little value to me unless I have an error or a track with a very low track quality.
2. I don't think CUE sheets have much to do with lossless audio in the general sense. It's more about trying to make an exact copy of a CD.
3. Audiophiles have moved on to SACD, DVD-A, or they're still waving the analog flag.

Blazing Star (yeah, the neo-geo game!) for 40 bucks. The most I was ever willing to pay for a videogame ost. I bought it from someone named Chudah who was selling her cd's bc she was trying to save up for a marriage or something.

Bought the WALL-E score for $15.

No shit that you have to sell diamonds to buy anything Square touches. Or more specifically, anything related to Final Fantasy. 60 bucks for FFVII? It's just cos of the classic value, amirite.

25 tens for Super Metroid? Jesus.

$45 for Chrono Cross sounds pretty good though, that's a damn good one.

Mine has to definitely be the Kingdom Hearts COMPLETE box, which cost me around $130. However, I went on a bid war for Capcom Music Generation Rockman X1~6 (unopened) that almost exploded in my face going up to $150+. The auction had some bonuses, though, including all three SNES games. The funny thing is that said item wasn't for me, but a birthday present for my uncle. That was a couple of years ago, around mid 2005 if memory serves.

My cheapest find has to be both the FFVII and DBZ Ultimate Battle 22 OSTs, which I found at a flea market for $10 and $1 respectively. And I'm NOT kidding. Apparently, the owner of the FFVII OST had received it as part of some sort of FFVII prize that included the soundtrack, which he never seemed to be interested about. The amazing part is that said soundtrack was never opened, with a fear tears yes, but still clean as a whistle. I wasn't interested in the DBZ OST, but being at $1 I just couldn't leave it there. Currently it's part of my uncle's DBZ collection.

Chrono Cross cost me about 30-40 bucks back in 2001. Worth every penny too.
