I don't know how long I have not give attention to this one thread of the most important soundtracks of my life. Yep! Shin Cutey Honey. This was my very first time I heard anything of this composer in my child days back in the 90ts.
Kazuhiko Toyama did an awesome work in here, and for it is the only good work of him. Everything else I heard of him is sick boring.
I looked for these soundtracks like a madman.
The soundtracks are mostly arranged with synths and keys, but god, so much good and memorable melodies. :) For me, OVA episodes 5 to 8 were where all the best music came to life. Soundtrack Volume 3, is by far my favorite, because it has all my favorite music in it. :D "Tsuiseki", "Jakuu ju no Shutsugen", "Satsujin Gundan", "HONEY no Kiki", "HONEY no THEME II ~Sentou~" and "CLIMAX" to name a few, but my top 1 favorite of all the soundtrack are with no doubts "Sen'nyuu" and "Dasshutsu". These 2 just mess my heart and feelings all up.
There is one thing that makes me mad.... there is one missing track... The transformation song. Its nowhere, and what makes more mad, is that we have on sound track vol.1 and 2, the same exact track, "Ai no Senshi". Why was that track repeated in vol.2 if it was in vol.1 already? Maybe if they did not repeat that track in Vol. 2, we might have had the transformation song. Note that, this is not the first time a thing like this happens.
Take Generator Gawl for example, 2 soundtracks, and 2 missing tracks, and in ost 2 we have 2 repeated tracks from ost1, same exact tracks. :(

These share rips have not been updated, as I have not yet been able to buy these. But Thanks should be given to "KusanagiShiro" who helped with ost 1 and 3, and Simon.B for sharing his Special Vocal collection. :)


Update: 2015.04.18

I started to re-watch the OVA, and since a lot of music was not released, I decided to do my own custom complete soundtracks.
I ripped all the missing tracks from the DVD source, although they have SFX and speech, they are audible enough. If you don't like it then go square. I like drama cds, and having tracks like this (because there is no other way to rip the missing music) is indeed enjoyable for me, specially with songs I love the most.
The original soundtracks also have many misleading names, like "Reporter Honey" and that song is ONLY in episode 2, and Honey turns to Reporter in episode 3. All 3 soundtracks have new and unused music, and it is a still a good amount of it, and another problem specially in OST2, we have 2 tracks which were already released in OST1. ''HAPPY Danbee'', in OST1, is ''COMICAL ACTION - DANBEE'' on OST2; same tracks, with the only difference of lasting longer with 2 new cues at the end.
For some reason, I feel someone went on Lazy Road somehow.

There will be 3 kinds of uploaded packs:
PACK A
Will be a 4 folders organized as soundtracks, having the music of 2 episodes in each folder, both the released tracks and unreleased in order of appearance. (Some tracks may be repeated.)
PACK B
Will be 7 folders with ONLY the unreleased rips.
PACK C
Will be a Folder organized as a proper soundtrack, not repeating tracks, and some of the unreleased tracks used in multiple episodes will be mixed as "suite".

The customization, file sorting, front and back covers are done by me, as well the file names of the missing unreleased tracks. I named them both in English and in Japanese (Romaji). Why? Because that was what I felt with songs and moments.
The covers are very simplistic, because I had no images (as I wanted) on web at all, so I based the colors and came up with some ideas using the Laser discs covers. The back pictures I took from the DVD itself.

it seems this is the one and only ost very cool from kazuhiko toyama!
other soundtracks i heard and download, thinking it was cool, it is nothing compared to this incredible ost.
many people may not find this very "atractive" but when i heard this ost i died. XD

the third ost is my favorite, it has all the songs I like the most. Including Yasha demon theme "Disapearance" :3 lovely.
Although, this 3rd ost has songs never played on th ova series, like "Natsuko Theme"....
it is a wonderfull track.

It lokks like, in my opinion and personal taste, that this is the best soundtrack from kazuhiko Toyama. :/
none of the other works from him are this good, and the soundtrack for the OVA of Tekken it's really something I can live without it. and since i'm a guy who doesnt like tekken at all, the anime soundtrack of it i can that it sucks a bit :/

Made new pretty main post for this thread, that means a lot to me, if not, the world to me. :)

I recently received a DVD of Shin Cutey Honey from a portuguese fansub I have been helping in translating japanese and doing revisions in some of their good old anime releases.
Because my VCR is busted, and I felt this strange urge to see the Shin Cutey Honey so badly, I asked fro that DVD, and I was planning in ripping the missing track, transformation one. It seems there is a lot of missing tracks, that even I did not remember. In fact, my other 2 Favorite tracks (counting with the transformation song) was not released at all...
So... I decided to rip these songs, even with sfx and speech. For that issue does not bug me at all, and I do dislike those software that take out the voice sound, but then the songs are not that audible at all. I prefer having sfx and speech and be able to listen a certain song and have fun.

Another issue with the soundtracks is that we have a lot of music not used in the OVA at all. It is still a significant amount of music in all 3 cds, and we even have repeated tracks on ost 1 and 2. If you ignore those tracks that don't appear in the OVA the missing tracks would probably be in their place, gladly, and make us all happy, because honestly, I am a bit raged with this thing.



I finished ripping everything, and I will offer 3 kinds of packs to download.

PACK A
Will be a 4 folders organized as soundtracks, having the music of 2 episodes in each folder, both the released tracks and unreleased in order of appearance. (Some tracks may be repeated.)

PACK B
Will be 7 folders with ONLY the unreleased rips.

PACK C
Will be a Folder organized as a proper soundtrack, not repeating tracks, and some of the unreleased tracks used in multiple episodes will be mixed as "suite".


will try to release something this weekend, if everything goes smooth :)

It is both Episode 1 and 2 complete soundtrack in order of track appearance.

The covers are very simplistic, I know. It was hard enough to find some good artwork, as I kept on finding fan hentai pictures or just perv screenshots. Yes, I found other images not related to those, but not images I wanted at all. So I based the colors and came up with some ideas using the Laser discs covers. The back pictures I took from the DVD itself.
Tomorrow I will have the Volume 2 ready too ;)

SHIN CUTEY HONEY COMPLETE SOUNDTRACK Project

Here I am again, bringing complete soundtrack for episode 3 and 4.
About the track "Comical Danbee": I was thinking to just split the cues and add only the cue that plays in the pointed episode. I decided to leave as it is, the same I decided to add as "bonus tracks" (although I did not refer to it at all) of the full songs of Siren's Theme and Michiko Neya version of the main song.
This time, I added some other screenshots I got from my DVD, pictures I found it both interesting (like the guy playing guitar cosplaying as devilman xD) and very marking to, like all Panthers together. :)
All music is in order of appearance, and some tracks I did decided to keep some talking (like "Punishment for accidental pervert") just for the sake of the joke.
Some people might find ridiculous that I work on this and bundle sfx tracks with original, but I find it much more interesting then it seems. Think of it as an episode being told to you, together with it's soundtrack. ;)

The time I went in working on this is so making me... so aware how much I love this OVA and it's music. ^_^

And so... Complete soundtrack Volume 3 came :p, for Episodes 5 and 6. Actually these 2 episodes wee my very reason to make this project. I have a lot of love for these 2 episodes, since they are my favorite. I lost my count of how many times I saw them. My favorite episodes with my favorite soundtracks and songs. Want me to add more magic to them? ^_^
The back cover, might me questionable in my decision for that main red/pink color. Actually i think it went too bright for me. The one thing that had to make change the idea of the back covers, was that there is no more "kind of" art in the end of the episodes like in the previous 4. So, not having that, I decided in "spoiling" with the villains. Screenshots were taken from my DVD. I actually wondered a lot in those episodes in trying to find some interesting moment and image to fit each episode, but in some moments, it was just a hell trying to get a picture in a precise moment, so I quit on that.
So, my other top favorite tracks that were never released are the "Henshin" tracks. Just like the other 2 previous works, I named the missing tracks at my own liking, mixing japanese (romaji) with english.

SHIN CUTEY HONEY COMPLETE SOUNDTRACK Project

With a bit of delay in releasing this almost like yesterday, hope it still keeps some of the people who like my updates on this, spoiled a lot. :)
Working for the front cover was bit "ass", because I could swear that repainting the other LD covers was way easy. I personally don't like the work on the front cover, but I did my best to continue the idea of the previous ones. The screenshots taken from my DVD, were carefully decided. Again the main pictures for the episodes are the villains, the other pictures are "some" of the references appeared in Shin Cutey Honey. Although most references are related to other Go Nagai works (in this case, Devilman and Kekko Kamen), other bit of japanese culture was inserted like Sukeban Deka (the original pink hair and yo-yo bad-ass girl) and Magic Knights Rayearth. Aside that, I also wanted to show the human form of the villains. I think in someway it turned out better then I expected. :)
About the music:
Because there was no more vocal songs featured in the last 2 episodes, and I did not wanted to repeat the "ova size" songs, I decided to go get the special vocal version of the main theme and included both vocal and karaoke version. It just did not sounded right starting tho listen "drama tracks" without any kind of introduction.
The naming I gave to some tracks are actually continuing the jokes of the scenes...like "Sukeban Deka". Now where would that track appear? *ironic :p*. The track named "T-Cutey", is an actual personal joke; T-Cutey = Terminator Cutey. I heard that song and as much I as I heard it, I feel like I am listening the Terminator main theme. :D
Again we have a very misleading bad titled track "Jigen Bakudan" (Time Bomb). In this episode (7 that is), there is nothing relating to a Time Bomb at all, and that only happens in episode 5. This track however ONLY appears in episode 7. Same thing that had happen with the titled track "Reporter Honey" and that track ONLY appears in episode 2, and Honey only his a reporter in episode 3. Was Toyama so not giving a fuck in naming his own music? I can't stop thinking in so many reasons why that happened and I only ende up with the same conclusion: Epic Stupidity
Anyway, to end all this. The next step for the next Shin Cutey Honey release will be a full complete set not like these I have been doing. Consider this like, episode guides. :p :) :D

oh, and ''Sen'nyuu'', is my other top favorite track from all of the ost. I did not said before because...... it only goes in these episodes. :p
