OMG THIS CAN'T BE, I was out with friends Saturday Night and I just found that Toonami is off the air, WHAT HAPPENS TO NARUTO!!

"Stay gold. Bang (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngsrimilHQM)".....Tom's last words......

CN is pretty much dead to me now. There is absolutly no reason to watch it anymore. It's pretty much CN's fault why Toonami was cancelled. Poor line-up, shrinking time blocks, 1 anime. I really wanted to cry last night becasue Toonami was the reason why I got interested into anime. Without DBZ, I would've probably hated any manga or anime.

How can you just throw away 11.5 years like that?! The only reason to watch CN now is Adult Swim. Call me old-fashoin, but all these new cartoons on CN now......well not even kids will watch that crap. I guess CN was trying to be "child friendly", but that's what we have Nick and Disney for. They're missing all the good cartoons that 4kidz got their hands on. C'mon now.

I just can't beleve that CN would have gone though with the idea of canceling one of the best blocks of shows on Saturday Nights, all becuase they think what they are doing is for the "Good of the Viewers", but they are total wrong. Its bad enough that are now showing live action movies like Spider-man, Kicking and Screamming. But showing these kinds of movies should done by eniter Disney Channel or Nick. Cartoon Network has been nothing more then a "wanta' be best network for both kids & adults" but more for the adults. I mean CN had the best line of shows before 2008 "Doomsday"

Here they are

WB/HB cartoons, like Bugs Bunny & Scooby Doo (a personal favorite)
Tom & Jerry
Popeye
Space Ghost
Voltron
The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest (a personal favorite)
Speed Racer (a personal favorite)
James Bond Jr. (a personal favorite)
2 Stupid Dogs (a personal favorite)
The Addams Family (a personal favorite)
SWAT Kats (a personal favorite)
Dexter's Lab (a personal favorite)
Jonny Bravo (a personal favorite)
The Powerpuff Girls
Courage the Cowardly Dog (like it because of the stupid fammer)
Secret Squirrel (Tony Jay is Still missed)
Mike, Lu, & Og
Samurai Jack (a personal favorite)
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED (a personal favorite)
Ed, Edd'n, Eddy (a personal favorite)
Codename: Kids Next Door (a personal favorite)
Foster's
Camp Lazo
Billy & Mandy
Justice League
The Clone Wars 2006: The animated Series (a personal favorite)
Duck Dodgers
Teen Titans (a personal favorite)
Class of 3000 (Groovy Songs)
Megas XL
Zoids (a personal favorite)
He-Man (a personal favorite)
Dothack
ReBoot (a personal favorite & Tony Jay is Still missed)
Beast Wars (a personal favorite)
Richie Rich
Fantasic Max
Ed Grimley (a personal favorite)
Transfomers (a personal favorite)
Code Lyoko (like it becuase it was like "The Matrix" only for kids & teens)
Totaly Spies (the show was like Charlie's Angels, only for younger girls)
Storm Hawks
Sitting Ducks (a personal favorite)
Pokemon
Ben 10 (a personal favorite)

Forgive me for saying this, but the "Adult Swim" should only be on until Friday & Saturday nights, that way more of our favorites can have more time weither its anime or original animation, there would be at least some veritires just like they did with Saturday Night Block in 2005. I mean having Johnny Test, Skunk Fo, & Chowder being showed every four hours 2-3PM, 5-6PM, & finally 9-10PM is just really starting to tick me off, when they could be putting on Naruto, or another classic cartoons from the good old days on any of these times. I mean one or two times wouldn't hurt, but when its more then that, then we have a problem.

Fried Dymate should be only on Saturday Mornings, leave the Friday logo back to being called "CN Friday Nights" with the some of the new mixed with the classics we loved so much. I've beeen looking at so many Petitions (http://www.knowledgehound.com/khhow2s/email_petitions.htm) online, but that couldn't work because they say that most active way to get some thing done right is to start a telephone hotline for saving our childhood shows or asking CN to stop doing this crap, maybe that could work. They should do is look up the most aired & most viewed shows or put up a "retro week (http://rbcorner.com/cgi-bin/eblah/Blah.pl?b-genshow/m-1217784257/) or friday" like YTV did for their programs.

I'll be watching the Transformers & Ben 10: Allen Force online, got no need to watch their channel anymore, unless they bring back some the best watch shows or the best animators with using "old school" cartoon animation or both, please no more computer animation like that stupid short "Mr Bixby". Animation should done with I quote this from "Spongbob" (with love & care). Computers are not "& I quote this from TEMINATOR" (the future of "animation") I guess if I want to anime then I watch it on 4Kids TV, the only best shows that are still on are "Sonic X, TMMT, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX,& Chaotic", I still miss the old Fox Kids too.

GOODBYE FOREVER, TOOMAMI, YOU HAD GOOD RUN :(

if anyone has the guts to stop this madness, then do it right NOW. OUR CARTOONS ARE IN DANGER OF EXCITATION, save it for our future generation.>:O

Chowder and Flapjack are the best thing to happen to TV in like 20 years. If they played those two shows and Foster's I could remain a happy man child forever.

I can't imagine Foster's is 'gone'. It might be down for a season while they make new episodes.

I could really care less about "Toonami" (I used to watch it back in the day but I don't care for mostly all the shows they have had on there recently) the only reason I watched it was for Naruto. If you had look at the schedule then you would see that Naruto is airing on Oct 4th at 9:30pm if i'm not mistaken. Regardless I doubt they'll just take all of the shows off the air, especially Naruto, it's far too popular. I'm sure it's just a stall untill they get some new block set up which will probably have some of the same more popular shows, as in Naruto, and what ever other crap is popular.

IM24CTU
09-24-2008, 05:00 PM
I can still remember the old shows from the original "Toonami" like DBZ, Astro Boy, Jackie Chan Adventures, Beast Wars, Reboot, Batman, Gundum, & New Johnny Quest.

I heard that CN is showing the new "Batman: Gotham Knight" anime next Saturday Night, is that what you talking about. IS Naruto still going to be on CN for another season before DVD? Also their having the new Star Wars CGI series on Friday & Saturday Nights along with the new animated "The Secret Saturdays". I hope they won't ruin this show like the others.

If Toonami over, then this would be new sec. after the two movies "Spider-Man & Batman: Gotham Knights"

8:00PM - Star Wars: The Clone Wars
8:30PM - The Secret Saturdays
9:00PM - Naruto
9:30PM - Unknown
10:00PM - Unknown
10:30PM - Unknown

What do you think would come on at these time are "Unknown"?

...what?

Wait.

Wait just one fricking minute.

*takes a look at the thread, then watches the video*

WHAT THE HELL, CARTOON NETWORK?!!

I can't believe this. Real fucking nice, you guys. REAL FUCKING NICE.

Though, I've gotta say, I've had some fond memories of this block. I was probably one of the few who didn't even mind the changes they made on it's tenth year.

However, I'm not as stupid as the network thinks I am. Even I could see what was happening to Toonami when it went down to just two hours. Sure, Naruto was incredibly popular, and I think it's awesome as much as the next guy, but Cartoon Network was in a lot of trouble when it came to this.

When they made that colossal dick decision to pull Toonami down to two hours, I had a feeling it wasn't going to last much longer.

Something ironic about this: just yesterday, I was talking to one of my friends about how much I loved watching Toonami. I had missed the September 20th broadcast (because I was out with the aforementioned friend), and I hadn't even realized that it was done for. So you can imagine my surprise when I came to the forums just minutes ago, and noticed this topic.

I couldn't believe my freaking eyes when I saw this. I guess Revolution 11 was all for nothing, huh?

Now don't get me wrong. Toonami has held some of the greatest memories of my childhood days. The Intruder had me GRIPPED TO MY FREAKING CHAIR the entire time Toonami was on those days. Lockdown and Trapped in Hyperspace were also incredible ventures, and IGPX was pure gold either way. Like many of us before, Toonami was my first glimpse into the world of anime.

I don't hate Cartoon Network for this, as you might think. I knew that this would be inevitable, given the network's cracking management issues.

I've gotta say, Toonami held some fond memories. And despite what some people may think, I've enjoyed it every single step of the way.

To quote TOM in his final words, "Until we meet again... stay gold."

Farewell, Toonami. You'll always hold a place in my heart.

Bang.

They are a business. They didn't do this to piss people off. They must have seen they could generate the most cash by doing things as they are now. Now - a latent function of the change is pissing individuals like yourself off; but I suppose that fringe group of people don't bring in more cash than those who want to watch Johnny Test over and over.

heres the problem with toonami. it started out great (for the real anime fans, not you trend following shonen jump dumbshits). new ceo got involved, and decided he knew which audience watched toons after school (boy was he wrong). they decided to appeal to the wrong crowd, and then they decided that all the kids that liked shonen jump were right (wrong again). note to cartoon network: if it aint broke, dont fix it...you stabbed your true fans (toonami faithful as we were so dubbed) in the fucking heart by changing to that gay-ass 4kids garbage and whoring out to the shone jump generation. ill go to williams st, atlanta myself, purify that bitch, and make toonami right. we old school fans know what it takes to get the absolution flying again... for all of you naruto/one-piece kids: for the love of anime and the universe...diversify and stop watching what the next ass is watching. find shit for yourselves...

God-damn straight.

I remember seeing this mock-up Toonami promo on Veoh that had shows like Wolverine and the X-Men, Time Jam: Valerian and Laureline, One Piece, Naruto, and FREAKING GUARDIANS OF LUNA! Now THAT'S diversity, and those were shows I would have LOVED to see on Toonami had it survived long enough.

Regardless of the situation, and no matter what stunts Cartoon Network decides to pull in the future, I will always and forever remain a Toonami Faithful.

Until we meet again...

I stopped watching Toonami a little over 2 year ago, so I'm not sadden by the news. I use to watch Toonami to get my Anime fix, but then I discovered that I can watch full streaming Anime fan subs, without putting up with poor dubs and content edits, from streaming Anime websites. I think a large audience of Anime fans discovered this as well and CN started to lose rating for their Anime shows.

For example on CN, Code Geass is still in the middle of the first season, however, on the internet, you can watch both seasons of Code Geass already.

Well, not only was there one with him and Hilda, (that's her name) there was actually a scene with him in bed with some random girl in episode 1 I think. Not only that, but they cut out an entire episode because there was quite a bit of nudity in it. (the infamous hot springs planet episode)
Also, when Melfina is in the Outlaw Star's control capsule, she is naked. The "skin bathing suit" was added on by censors. Probably the same ones that added "skin bathing suits" to the Tenchi Muyo girls too.
