Prior to the game's release, there is music being released to the internet and these are mainly level themes. I'm looking for one track that played in the game's second episode trailer.

Can anyone find the music by itself?

I fourth this request, then. Apparently, some guys on a forum I go to already have the R-O-M... As such, you'd expect for some music to crop up eventually. ;)

I have done a gamerip from said ROM. So, I hope that people may apreciate me uploading this (unlike what happened with Sonic Rivals 1 & 2). If you guys are still looking for it, let me know.

(Of course Skunk/Sherlock may upload it instead. She has the same gamerip as I sent it to her.)

You don't really have to ask us if we still want it, since we are here practically begging for the music.

...That's a yes.

That is a very much a yes, and it would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

If either of you upload it, we would most definitely be thankful. I know I would. I could care less of the quality, so long as we now have a taste of the music of the game.

Very well, keep an eye on this post. Don't reply for another 30 minutes. By then, the gamerip will be uploaded.

EDIT: Well, here it is.

Aye, MAJOR props for ripping and uploading the soundtrack, Sound Reaper! Really appreciate it. :)

Hmm. Not a bad soundtrack... though it's missing the "catchy-ness" (I was hoping they'd aim for a more Genesis approach in terms of the music).

It has a lot of Sonic 3D (both versions) and Sonic CD USA, however, not the best of all tracks.

Besides, I have to say: This is the first Sonic soundtrack to extremely disappoint me. Only the Panic Puppet remix is good, all other themes are, imho, really badly remixed. Since I know most of those themes in their original, I'm highly disappointed in BioWare about the music. =/

Edit: In the end it ended up to be the first Sonic soundtrack EVER for me to delete... that from someone who still has Sonic Drift music, albeit it being horrible

Hmm, perhaps playing the game can easily explain why they were remixed in a way you consider as such a dissapiontment (let alone the whole matter of what location/event/mood they were chosen to represent). On the other hand, a LOT of people are saying that the game needs a sequel.....for all the wrong reasons.

I was ready to request this until I played the game.

Horrible-- no, embarrassing music. Like a high school kid's MIDI project.
Just dreadful.

Ah, there is A LOT of emphasis on Midi sound. It would be a shame to think that Bioware underestimates the DS sound capability.

So....would it make matter better....or worse if I told you that ALL music was composed by Richard Jaques?

(Don't underestimate the Battle Music too much though as it was sequenced a LOT better than the normal BGM.)

If Richard Jacques composed the soundtrack, then this is likely his only failure as a composer.

I know he did the original PC/SAT versions of Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic R (the former being where many of the songs are remixed from in Chronicles), but does it say in the credits that he actually arranged and composed all the music in Chronicles, or does it mean that the original themes are his and someone arranged it?

If it's the former, then wow. That is really horrible. Bad judgment on his part then.

How much of the soundtrack have you listened to? The first few? That's a terrible motif of judgement in itself, seriously. On a side note, it can simply be that they requested him to make said music in a more "Midi-esque" fashion. No worries though, there are plenty of people I know who don't like midis anyway (even a few staff at RadioSEGA, but not enough to deter me).

Nonetheless, this soundtrack is far from perfect anyway.

can someone put the tracklist as they are in game, e.g metropolis etc...

Wasn't the reason for this soundtrack being horrible that originally it contained remixes from Sonic 1 and 2 and DCT denied permission so many of the tracks had to be redone at the last minute?

Hm. It does sound bad, but.. I recently downloaded a FFIV DS soundtrack and I have to say, the in-game music sounds NOTHING like what was ripped.

Perhaps the method by which it was ripped is the reason why it sounds so bad?

No, in-game it's horrible, too, tbqh.

No, I actually played the game and beat it. Seems the only terrible motif of judgment here is yours in assuming things. :)

I'm not even worried about it anymore, seriously. I ripped the music, people hated it, I move on. It's quite funny actually consicering how much people wanted it at first, but that's the way things are.

Meh, that pretty much wraps it up here.
