Your source for the best of Video Game Music!

So, this is how the stuff works:
I select a topic on which I want to make an "album" of. You can make suggestions for a topic, genre or game series. I will cover each topic with a set of 2 (or maybe more, if it's too much to bear) "CDs". That means I take roughly 120 minutes (60 for each "album") of the topic's music, make a little cover for each, and load them up separately.
The albums will be based on Video Game Characters. They recieve a character fitting to the topic and will get a nice little cover image to go with.
EVERY CD 1 will recieve a character from Nintendo, every CD 2 will recieve a character from SEGA. - unless I decide it's better to go with someone else. But generally this is the rule.
The whole collections will be added in here in the first post, with cover, tracklist, and all that jazz.

If you want to make suggestions for topics, characters or individual songs for a chosen topic, please go ahead and do so. I do not guarantee that these suggestions will be in that topic's collection or ANY of them. I will, though, check every made suggestion.

Unfortunately, K. Rool is Rare-property, and therefore most likely won't be a cover. Thanks for appreciating my work, tho. =)

Actually he's not. He's a playable character in Mario sluggers and he's the villain in DK jungle climber, because Nintendo owns the rights to him. even Rare said it themselves. I forget the exact quote but it was something like "Rare owns everything other than the monkeys and the crocodiles". So he is still a possibility. It's fine if you don't want to use him though. I just want to clarify
because a lot of people say he's Rare only. hypothetically if you do decide to use K. rool. I know everything about his personality, so I can defiantly help.

Nope. Bark the Polar Bear is a real character who only appeared in Sonic the Fighters alongside with Bean the Dynamite. Latter appeared in more games iirc.

I gotta hand it to you, Sherlock. These collections are magnificentful. I haven't checked out the vocal ones (downloading them though, have all the others), but if you're looking for any good vocal tracks, have you looked through MGS series and Disaster: Day of Crisis? They both have some good ones.

Also, not sure if you're still looking for categories to make CD's for, but if you are, I'd like to suggest that of "Upbeat intense." It might not make sense, and the examples may be cliche, but I'm thinking songs like the ever-classic F-Zero Big Blue, Airman's Theme from MM2, and the original battle theme (not sure which, I think the wild pokemon theme) from Pokemon Red/Blue; songs that are great for listening, but also for those intense fights (while not being 'fighting game' (Soul Calibur, Tekken, Street Fighter) type music. Does this make any sense?

As an explanation: Fitting for HANAMI, the Japanese spring festival, I thought a special would be nice... this time with an Eastern Asian theme. I hope you guys enjoy the update, it took me some time to squeeze everything into 3 CDs. Haha.

A City-themed thing would be interesting indeed... Town Themes are very common in RPGs and found in many other games too. I might take that idea, thanks for the suggestion, tirkarox ... but how do you know my nickname outside of FFS? O_o

also, some other suggestions:

Map Mania (Contains various Map/overworld themes. Cover could be Linebeck, or maybe Gwonam for teh lulz.)
Stormy Saxophones (Contains Jazz/Jazzy tunes. Cover could be Iori Yagami and the Magypsies.)
In da 'Hood (Contains Rap/hip-hoppish sounding tracks. Cover could be Jack from MadWorld and Knuckles)
Bonus Time! (Bonus stage themes. Cover could be the Car from SFII and the Chaos Emerald.)
Short but sweet (Contains relatively short songs, such as victory themes or game overs, etc. Cover could be a Goomba and a Servbot.)
Compensating for something (Contains ridiculously long songs. Cover could be Kefka from FFVI...and I can't think of anything else :/ )
