From my understanding of this movie, I think it is going to straight to DVD. :-)

it will be released on Blue-Ray, UMD and DVD! And as for me pirated DVD and licensed UMD will be enough to buy. =)

As far as movie/game tie ins go, RE films aren't that bad, not that that says much but still.

I'm excited. Someone mentioned the graphics look dated - I agree - to a point. The overall design of the characters and how people 'move' have a unique "feel" that should be familiar to any long time RE fan.

Plus I'm sure I'm not alone in this - Claire is by far the RE universe's best protagonist: Likeable, relatable and most importantly: Believable. Seeing her in action is already a treat.

In regards to the live action RE films. See - those films would be good if they were - you know - Resident Evil films - and not just a hash of reshot scenes from the games.

I hear this movie will be released December 30th. Ugh... that's too long... I was hoping sometime before Christmas.

well, maybe it was included in like, the fee to do the whole movie. cause imo, i would want to put the trailer out as soon as possible. that way, anticipation would build and people would buy the movie

it's the official website. There you can read the production blog. They say that the voice recording is allready done. So I hope that the date of release is not to far away.

I think if you look at the live action movies as stand alone movies, and loosely based on the actual games, they're really not that bad. I enjoyed them, and I'm a big time RE fan.

Exactly. Although I would have preferred the George A. Romero take on the "Resident Evil" movie, they were pretty good. I am really looking forward to the CGI movie, I remember seeing the trailer on the Resident Evil: Extinction DVD and jumping for joy.

if you want more Claire, play Resident Evil: Code Veronica. it's the best one in the series anyway. i don't know what to tell you about Leon. it's too bad they've only put him in one game and haven't used him in any others other than RE2

Anyway, I'm excited about this movie. I think all gaming related movies should be animated or in CG. Live videogame movies suck with the exception of Mortal Kombat and Silent Hill. Both of those movies was average at best. The rest are horrible, especially the crappy RE live movies.

I might replay RE4 all over again before or after the movie is released.

Looks like the end of the year is the tentative release date for this. However, I'm not to thrilled about the price for this... but since it's RE... I have to get it.

I enjoyed the games and some of the movies......ok, just one of them. I like CG movies, and since its not Disney flick, thats a plus. I can't wait!
